We have a number of poems that will make you have a deeper insight on the current moral decay amongst the youth and also some on the failure of parenting. Inside you will find an article on the shame of the Kenyan politicians who were alegedly bribed from the Parliaments toilets This has been a very active month, and we at DESTINY FOCUS have tried our best to capture all the interesting reads. The creation of this issue wouldn't have been possible without the hardwork of our writers and the input of our new able Editor, Tullah Stephen. Thank you for being a true believer in DESTINY FOCUS. KENYAN MPS AND TOILETS
F
ormer Member of Parliament, Joe Khamisi, wrote a book titled The Politics of Betrayal which gives a peek into the weird world of our legislators. The book paints a vivid picture of the dirty lifestyles of Kenyan leaders, which are hidden from the public eye.
bribes of as little as Sh10,000 in the toilets to shoot down a controversial sugar report. Gathoni Muchomba narrated to the team how she followed fellow woman representatives to the ladies' toilets and to her shock, found them excitedly discussing the amounts each had been given. “When I went to the toilet, I heard people saying they had been given Sh10,000 by (Wajir Woman Representative) Fatuma Gedi to shoot down the sugar report.
The revelation of Kenyan MP’s sexual escapades is shocking. The book reveals how on several occasions, the drainage system of Continental House, which houses MPs’ offices, is blocked by used condoms. On 21st February 2018, our MPs were approving names of members of the committee on services and facilities formerly known as the catering committee. (Cate Waruguru is the vice-chair of this toilet committee).
Muchomba claimed her colleagues refused to come out of the cubicles when they realised she was waiting to see who they were. The Kiambu Woman Rep further claimed that another colleague shouted at her, “Kwenda During the session, they complained that huko. Hii pesa si ya mama yako!" translated their toilets lack toilet papers. “You cannot to ‘Get lost. AFRICAN LADY It used to be sang.. An African woman is a quality woman not a quantity woman.
Independence is the word you use That's very positive.. But the question is how do you get the money?
I am not sure those lines can be sang now. The African woman is back to colonization
Stealing from men...having sponsors...acting indecent videos
I don’t mean the stealing of the African wealth. No it's the stealing of the African dignity.
That's not the way Why can't we be the ladies we should be
Our African women have their minds colonized.
Modernized but decent Independent but clean money
They are copying everything that the colonizers had
Proud of our skin colour
They never know what to sieve
Happy of our homes because as days go we are pushing our home responsibility away
They want to be leaders.. Yeah.. Very positive
Ladies who are happy to go up together
In fact women should be on the forefront in leadership
To stop making life hard for their fellow ladies
But they also want to expose their bodies
There is joy in pooling together
Now that's negative..why do that??
Be an original African woman
They also want to change their skin colour Chemicals are at their disposal..to bleach their skin colour
By Gathoni Wamwondwe
Why are you not proud to be as you were made Fearfully and wonderfully made They also want to have their own money

WHAT IS YOUR INFLUENCE? Influence is the most underrated skill but is critical to success or failure of anything around us. Influence is the power to have an important effect on someone or something and every one of us has an influence.
abuse, good leadership.
morals,
education
and
Often times, we have heard the statement “Young people are the leaders of tomorrow” but we don’t stop to think about the influence created by today’s leaders. That has a bigger potion in the shaping of tomorrow’s leaders in our society. We therefore become fatalities of our own faults and turn back to condemn what we helped to create.
Ever wondered how you influence others or how they influence you? When you make others feel important, your influence goes a long way. Everyone wants to be liked, loved, appreciated and accepted. When you fulfill that need for others, you are perceived as being influential. Become genuinely interested in other people affairs and be emotionally curious about others.
From a biblical perspective, the bible instructs us in Pro 22:6 to “Bring up a child in the way that it should go, and when it’s old, will not depart from it.” And in Eph 6:4 “Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
By this, we realize that our actions and opinions affect others directly or indirectly. We therefore need to create an influence that could either be positive or negative to other people. Our society today has suffered a major degradation of morals because influences have been created and the young people have been great followers and imitators of actions and morals from people who have influence.
Social influence occurs when a person's emotions, opinions or behaviours are affected by others intentionally or unintentionally. Social influence takes many forms and can be seen in conformity, socialization, peer pressure, obedience, leadership, persuasion among others.
Take for example, the influence created by musicians to the young generation of today; this can be termed positive or negative. However, if we rely on the positive we understand the power we can trap from it and create awareness and sensitization on different aspects like drugs and substance
Together we can create a world of influence by our actions and behaviours, and thus it’s important to be mindful about the environment and the surrounding aspects in our lives and effect we are likely to create.

OCTOBER ISSUE 2018
Struggling day and night to feed you n pay your fees
But now look at the curse that has landed on us
Spending late nights at the tea buying centres
You now got pregnant of your own father
My hands are black and cracked .I can't handle the shame of giving a handshake
You met him in the clubs n there was no time to know the roots
But what do I get in return?
No time to ask stupid questions about origin
What is the pay for raising you well?
You were high is the excuse for the mess
What is the price of having a bright kid in college?
Am part of it because I lied Lied to you that your father was dead and showed you his grave
A slay queen who forgot where she came from You are a visitor at your own home
I never thought time would come for the You come on Sunday afternoon n go back at truth to be spilled out the evening You followed my dark path while I struggled You have classes n discussions of a very intense unit is what you say
lighting it up for you
During the holidays you are always on a school trip outside country
We are a mess in the society
Are we a curse? Are we a disgrace?
Am the bigger failure
A member of the school Senate and a school representative internationally
You are the bigger looser What can we do about our mess other than wait for nature to lead us through
My instincts tell me that's a lie You hate where you come from
Having my husband as my son in law
You avoid the dirty work in the shamba
Having your father as your husband
Am a lonely woman at home. A divorcee
Will your unborn child call him grandpa or papa?
As if the money I give you is not enough, you go hanging out with old men You disvalue your own body for money
It's already past the breaking point
Money that is finite
We created the mess so we just live in it
Guys of your age are far below your bend
Where blood is concerned no-one can clean the mess up
You are a lady of class is what you say

IM DONE!
I thought this was meant to be. What's always wrong with me. Every time I fall in love, I think I am so cool. Or he is so cool for me.
And for all that I wanted from you was a husband. A dad to my kids. A parent, not just a father. Why have I always found love with the wrong people. what is love anyway.
Only to realize that nothing is ever working out. My whole love life is a wretch.
Why does it have to be attached to the wrong people for so long.
I think I can now embrace what you have always told me. I am incapable of love. And please don't regret it. Its now so clear,I truly am incapable of love. This though comes years after I invested all my savings to this relationship. And all my love too. I gave you my innocence, you tore it away hungrily. I gave you compassion, and you brought a night worker to my house. My house! my couch, my hard earned money. And yet you seek compassionate. What are men. Baby I think am just another promise you couldn't fulfill. And as much as I lived with you, my whole life have been totally an expendable misconception. Holding up every bit of grapevine, not to ruin our marriage. As so you always told me. Has always been my duty to make you adorable.
Why can't it be a simple puzzle for me,at least for me alone. Even just once. The only thing I ever wanted was to be happy. Why life, Why. Why me. What on earth did I do to deserve so a cruel fate. Why did it have to chose me. Yes, why me.
Baby,I know you used me,and I forgave you. I also know somewhere deep in your heart you love me,that I can't deny.
But I too can't deny that you are my weakness, I just can't control this love anymore. Hope you understand better when you find the last of my body pieces. All I ask for now is a decent burial. Good bye my love. photo from Pexels

Praise and worship was led by the Sifa Voices worship team from Nyahururu.
The theme of the celebrations was: L’Arche Kenya at 10; A Journey of Growth, Friendship and Transformation. To symbolize the journey of L’Arche Kenya over the years, members of L’Arche Kenya presented to the audience 15 pots of sunflower plants that they planted earlier in the year to remind them and help them reflect on their journey as community. On this occasion, L’Arche Kenya members took the opportunity to thank those who have supported the organization to offer quality life to its members, especially with regards to meeting their basic needs. However, there was also a special invitation to the audience to continue partnering with the organization to support its members with intellectual disabilities to find meaningful work engagements in the market, so as to be more fruitful. The audience was reminded that adults with intellectual disabilities were normal human beings not only in need of food, clothing and shelter, but had reached a stage in their lives where they desired to more productive in order to contribute to the well-being of the society. They want to contribute to building their nation. There was also a moment in the celebrations where all those who have been part of L’Arche Kenya for the 10 years were remembered by unveiling a wheel and a board containing over 300 names of assistants and core members who’ve passed through the community. A specially baked cake was cut and two trees planted by the guests present in memory of the special occasion before Lunch and refreshments was offered to the over 1500 guests present; courtesy of the donations of friends of L’Arche Kenya .
