PRESS RELEASES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Aesling launches its third collection—with a focus on added drama and size diversity

Every year, our design process starts by reflecting on insights from real brides and retailers. This year, our community asked for one thing: drama. This is why our newest collection infuses our otherwise minimalist brand with unique and unexpected architectural influence suited for the chicest brides. Alongside our signature all-crepe wedding dresses,

we’ve added sculptural features like bishop, gigot, and bell sleeves; stunning textured fabrics like our new crinkle organza; and a statement-making column skirt shape. All Aesling dresses are inspired by architecture, and this year we are eager to welcome Sistine, Westminster, Sagrada, Crystal, Sophia, and Mahal to the Aesling roster. These gowns are named for beautiful places of worship around the globe, whose distinctive design elements are mirrored in their namesake dress.

Another key focus this year was size inclusion. Founder and creative director Gaby Bayona has always aimed to create a diverse and inclusive community within Aesling. No bride should find her choice limited by her size—we make size 0-26 standard, but we’re here for brides of all shapes and sizes. This year, we decided to take that one step further. “It’s great that many brands have expanded their size availability, but brides wearing extended sizes still rarely get to actually see themselves reflected in brand imagery,” Gaby points out. “We want to set a new standard, and ensure that every bride feels welcomed and represented by Aesling collections.” To this end, every style in the 2022 collection was photographed on a size 2, a size 8, and a size 16 model to showcase the fit on a range of body types. While many brands have expanded their size availability, not all have showcased these fits on a curve model, making visualization nearly impossible. With minimal size representation still an issue in the bridal industry, we have striven to address this by proudly offering curve model imagery of every new dress.

The 2022 Collection will be available online on August 18th at 10am PST. Distribution to Canadian, American, and European retailers will begin the same week. Sizes range from 0-26 and are available at Sweet Pea & Noelle in Regina, SK
