Well, here we are again; in March… Where the heck does the time go? As you may or may not know, I’ve been recovering from my motorcycle accident that happened on January 17 of 2012, I still can’t walk, thank God for wheelchairs and walkers but my left leg seems to be healing. I crushed my right thigh bone and messed up my knee and leg so I’ve got a lot of titanium parts in my right leg. It should be fun when I want to fly again going through the airports. I’m expecting to be on my Harley again by April 2012, at least that’s what I am expecting; now what the doctors expect is another story but I’ll keep you informed and updated. My concussion
is slowly healing; I have a little hard time remembering things, (especially if I owe you money, hahahaha) but that too will get better, I’m sure. We had a lot of successful charity bike rides last month and I wish to thank everyone that helped, it is very important that we all continue to support our fellow man. We want to welcome our new advertisers in this issue. I ask everyone to stop by their places and let them you saw them in the papers. Watch for a new billiards tour coming in midsummer or fall of this year, it sounds exciting and a good chance for some players to make some real money. Have a great March and be careful out there, have fun and play fair.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN “I WISH”
I guess that’s my new theme song, “ON THE ROAD AGAIN” I just can’t wait to get on the road again, boy is that an understatement!
is to keep everyone informed as to my recovery and my future adventures on the road again. I promise I’ll do more exciting things in the future so keep an eye on me and keep me in your I saw my surgeon on the 28th of prayers. February, I was hoping he would tell I’d be good to ride soon but said to come back on April 4th and he would let me know if I could START to put weight on my right leg. So I guess it’s going to be at least May 2012 before I can expect to be back on my Harley. My intention with this column

“JUST FOR FUN!”
(YOUR PICTURES HERE) Q’s Sports Bar & Girl in Port Charlotte FL The 2011-2012 Lucasi Hybrid Cues All American Tour – presented by the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) – showcased Stop #21 – the annual Valentine’s 8-Ball Massacre – at Q’s Sports Bar & Girl in Port Charlotte, FL, Saturday, February 11. The $265-added handicapped 8-ball tourney on 7-foot Valley bar boxes drew 17 players. The winner’s side semi-finals had Willie McBride (Fort Myers, FL) defeating Dave Calleja (North Fort Myers,FL) 4-3, and Albert Baker (Port Charlotte, FL) defeating Bill Eisenhard (Bradenton, FL) 4-0. The loser-side quarterfinals included Shawn Collie (Port Charlotte, FL) defeating Wayne Agnew (Venice, FL) 4-0, and Rick Madaffer (Naples, FL) defeating Ken Coulter (Punta Gorda, FL) 4-3. The winner’sside finals featured Albert Baker clipping Willie McBride 4-3. The loser-side semi-finals had Rick Madaffer defeating Shawn Collie 4-3. Then Willie McBride became the loser’s-side finalist by ousting Rick Madaffer 4-2. The tourney finals saw Willie McBride defeating Albert Baker 4-2 in the first set, but losing to
champion Albert Baker 4-3 in the deciding set. By virtue of Albert Baker being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2012 Lucasi Hybrid ACS Nationals at the Tropicana Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. Mindy Lyles (Punta Gorda, FL) won the raffle for the Lucasi Hybrid Cue. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric and Nick Varner Signature Cases for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities and tour stop openings are still available for the 2011/2012 All American Tour by contacting the ACS. The Tour moves to central Illinois on the weekend of February 1819, with a $500-added 9-ball stop at Starship Billiards in Decatur, IL (contact Tom Fankhauser at 217433-8868). Further information, entry details and schedules for the 2011/2012 Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour are available at www.americancuesports.org.

TO ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS IN THIS PAPER CALL JACK 623-340-0481 YOUR NAME AND/OR THE NAME OF YOUR BAND: Nikki Brutal (Nikki Donnell) INSTRUMENT YOU PLAY: Vocalist BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR BAND/MUSIC: Well I have a rougher style voice! I think I sound a lot like Lzzy from Halestorm or Joan Jett! So old school rough with modern aspects! HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU LEARNED TO PLAY AND WHO INSPIRED YOU? I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I remember singing along to Pat Benatar and Britney Spears on my giant radio in my room in front of my mirror pretending I was them and when I was 9 I was obsessed with my Heart will go on, my mom used to make me sing it for all my family and friends lol. I did choir in elementary and high school and after Evanescence came out I knew that I wanted to be a rock vocalist.
Joe and my momma bear. WHATS YOUR POISON/DRINK OF CHOICE? Jager! And Red Devils. Oh my I’m always falling over on that stuff! WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE BEST SONG YOU PERFORM? Dream Killer. I nail that song everytime! WHERE ARE YOUR GIGS FOR THE NEXT MONTH? March 4th at MCC And St. Patricks Day at Joes Grotto, drinks are on Top Dead Center during the set. DO YOU HAVE A STORY ABOUT YOUR BEST SHOW EVER? I’d say when I was in a battle of the bands with Top Dead Center and this huge ass crowd was there and jumping and moshing! It was literally a sea of people jumping with me with fists in the air! I felt like the leader of a musical induced cult! WHATS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A MUSICIAN? When people come up to me and tell me how much they love my music! It makes me feel all giddy and fuzzy inside! You can’t wipe the stupid grin off my face after someone says that to me, or they ask me for my autograph like I’m some big shot. DO YOU READ TABLE TALK AND DART STARR NEWSPAPERS? If I see em around I definitely pick them up and check it out! DO YOU PLAY PRIVATE PARTIES AND ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING? Always! CONTACT/BOOKING INFO: IF YOU COULD JAM WITH ANYONE ALIVE OR DEAD Nikki, facebook is best for me WHO WOULD IT BE? Amy Lee for sure! I got to meet here last October and she Facebook.com/nikkibrutal was so rad! I gave her this huge hug and didn’t want to let go! Lol. I think I scared her. YOUR NAME AND/OR THE NAME OF YOUR BAND: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE "CHEESY" SONG OF ALL My name is D.L. Christy IV and I am 1/4 of the band VEX. TIME? INSTRUMENT YOU PLAY: I love Cyndi Lauper’s Girls just wanna have fun, somewhere I have a youtube vid I made of me lip syncing I play kazoo, theremin, shakers, bullhorn, tambo, thunder with a hair brush dancing along to this song in my tube...Probably a trove of other oddities. I am also the orator. bathroom! It was pretty ridiculous and fun! WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VENUE TO PLAY AT IN BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR BAND/MUSIC: AZ? VEX is a project that is difficult to hang a label on. We use Joes Grotto definitely! The drinks are awesome and I love film, art and literature to create foundations for each song.

Billiards Table Talk March 2012
I suppose, by definition, that is an alternative approach. That being said, I feel that the Alternative genre is a misnomer, also by definition. When hard pressed for a summation, we usually call our music Heavy Alternative Art Rock. HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU LEARNED TO PLAY AND WHO INSPIRED YOU? I’m not sure I have "learned" yet. I attempt to react to (and create on top of) the canvas the music presents. This approach leaves me in a place of perpetual learning and evolution. I can say that music always captured and entranced me. I’m not sure I was specifically inspired as much as I was compelled to become one with those feelings. IF YOU COULD JAM WITH ANYONE ALIVE OR DEAD WHO WOULD IT BE? If I could jam with anyone I would choose Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He is Pakistan’s Elvis...So to speak. He had a voice that could increase not only in volume, but in spirituality as well. Divine. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE "CHEESY" SONG OF ALL TIME? My favorite cheesy song, with the exclusion of all VEX material, would have to be Liquor and Whores by Bubbles. That is today's answer anyway. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VENUE TO PLAY AT IN AZ? There are several AZ music venues that I love. However, I am a big fan of Joe's Grotto and The Blooze. WHAT’S YOUR POISON/DRINK OF CHOICE? My drink of choice would have to be original Absinthe.
...and some other entries

…continued from page 8. However, we don’t always get to choose. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE BEST SONG YOU PERFORM? The best song I perform is undoubtedly Jesus Loves Me, This I Know...But those performances are relegated to showers and intense love making sessions. WHERE ARE YOUR GIGS FOR THE NEXT MONTH? VEX will be performing at Joe’s Grotto on Saturday, March 24th as part of The Festival of Flesh event. We return to The Grotto again on Saturday, April 7th for an encore of the highly successful All Acoustic Event. Our brothers in Contrary To Reason and Whiskey Six will be on hand as well as more incredible yet to be named talent. We’ve done each show ( Festival of Flesh and All Acoustic Event) once already and they are both up there on the short list of favorite events for us. Both are HIGHLY recommended. DO YOU HAVE A STORY ABOUT YOUR BEST SHOW EVER? If I had to tell a story about our best show ever it would be riddled with lies, inconsistencies and gaping holes...The truth is that I simply cannot remember that beautiful bitch of a show. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A MUSICIAN? My favorite thing about being a musician? You would have to ask one of the three "musicians" in VEX. Unfortunately, I cannot claim that descriptor as I simply jump around like an idiot and holler inaudible rants into a microphone. DO YOU READ TABLE TALK AND DART STARR NEWSPAPERS? I honestly HAVE read a few issues of Table Talk/Dart Starr. My favorite issue featured a penetrating interview you conducted with the sexy and talented Chris (of the semi-popular and always amazing Whiskey Six). *DO YOU PLAY PRIVATE PARTIES AND ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING? We are always open to investigate any new performance opportunities. CONTACT/BOOKING INFO: We can be reached at: 1) www.vexband.com 2) www.facebook.com/vexphx.
YOUR NAME AND/OR THE NAME OF YOUR BAND: Josh G.-69 Sins INSTRUMENT YOU PLAY: Guitars/Vocals BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR BAND/MUSIC:
I always have a hard time with this question. We have many different influences throughout the group. The most generic placement would be to label us ‘Metal’. But, we play more melodic stuff, some hip-hop, etc. HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU LEARNED TO PLAY AND WHO INSPIRED YOU? I was a late bloomer when it came to my instrument. I didn’t pick up a guitar until the latter part of Freshman year in High School. My friend Seth Beckett out of Flagstaff, AZ inspired me to pick up the guitar. He made it look so easy…so, I figured it was. Nope… IF YOU COULD JAM WITH ANYONE ALIVE OR DEAD WHO WOULD IT BE? Mike Einziger-Guitarist for Incubus. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE "CHEESY" SONG OF ALL TIME? Ahhhhhh, there are so many! I can’t answer this with just one song… WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VENUE TO PLAY AT IN AZ? The Orpheum Theater-Flagstaff, AZ WHATS YOUR POISON/DRINK OF CHOICE? Jager! Any which way! WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE BEST SONG YOU PERFORM? I don’t really have a ‘Best Song’. As a band you grow in to team, then a family. That’s exactly what 69 Sins has become…a family. That being said, I can’t speak individually on this topic. We all have our weak points in certain songs and, of course, our strong ones. I can say my favorite song to play live is a newer one called, ‘Rip-Off’. Which will be on our next E.P. coming out sometime in
March 2012
May. Really quick, I have to give a shout-out to my brothers…David Wahlstrom-Lead Vocals, Alan RogersGuitars, Stephen Santana-Bass/Vocals, Mitchell TotenDrums. WHERE ARE YOUR GIGS FOR THE NEXT MONTH? This Saturday, the 25th, we will be playing Joe’s Grotto. Our next booked show is April 14th, at 910 Live. For Mosh Pit Army’s MetalHead Fest VI. WHATS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A MUSICIAN? The friendships you build with fans and other bands. Not to mention, the bonds that grow inside your own band and with family, immediate to the group. DO YOU READ TABLE TALK AND DART STARR NEWSPAPERS? I’ve picked up ‘Dart Starr’ a few times in various bars. DO YOU PLAY PRIVATE PARTIES AND ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING? We play Purgatory Productions shows out of our studio. Kick-ass sounds system, fully stocked bar, and so-forth. Everything you could ask for of a standard venue. AMBERHAZE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER BENEFIT POKER RUN
The Brotherhood Riding Club is presenting the Amberhaze Fight Against Cancer Benefit Poker Run. This charity event will be held on Saturday, April 14th, 2012 to raise money for young Amberhaze Harper. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Amberhaze Harper and her Fight Against Cancer! Amberhaze Harper is a local thirteen year old little girl from Avondale, AZ suffering from Leukemia. She is currently undergoing treatment, but her condition is complicated by a secondary fungal virus, in dormancy, called Mucormycosis. This condition limits the amount, frequency, and strength of the treatments they can administer to Amberhaze. This in turn, negates their ability to fully knock out the Leukemia in Amberhaze’s system. She is a strong fighter though, and is battling for her life every day! Amberhaze undergoes daily and weekly treatments for the Mucormycosis and the Leukemia. As you can imagine, Amberhaze’s medical expenses are extensive
and insurance only covers so much. Little Amberhaze needs everyone’s help! I’m reaching out to you today, our local business person in the community, for your help. A motorcycle poker run is a very popular fundraiser that covers a pre-determined route. Riders stop at 5 points along the way where they draw a playing card. At the completion of the run the high hand and the low hand are rewarded. Participants also have the chance to win a multitude of door/raffle prizes provided by sponsors. Charity funds are generated from entry fees, sales of t-shirts, pins, extra cards, raffles, sponsorships, and cash donations. One-Hundred percent of the funds raised at this event will benefit Amberhaze Harper and her medical expenses for her condition. The participants and generous contributors from the community make the success of this event possible. We hope you will consider
assisting our cause by donating one or more of the following items: Raffle & Door prize donations (trips, gift certificates, concert or sporting event tickets, sports memorabilia, riding gear, artwork or jewelry, or other household items), lunch sponsorship, refreshment donations, Cash Prize sponsorship, or T-shirt sponsorship. All contributors will be recognized publicly throughout the event. Advertising of this event will consist of direct email, print media, motorcycle websites and publications, flyers, and posters at motorcycle dealers and restaurants throughout the valley. Please consider contributing to this charitable effort to help Amberhaze Harper continue her fight for life. Thank you for your consideration and continued support. THUNDERBIRD ROADHOUSE
If you’re looking for a great place to eat, enjoy the company of your friends, or looking to meet someone new, there’s a great place located in the Southwest corner of 35th Avenue and Thunderbird, called the Thunderbird Roadhouse. The Thunderbird Roadhouse is owned and operated by Michael Schuyler. Michael has been cooking all his life, getting his start in his childhood when he wanted to help his grandma with her homemade recipes. Michael took those homemade recipes, and improved upon them as a chef for catering companies, cruise ships, and five-star resorts all over the country. Michael ultimately decided to open his own slice of food and tavern heaven, a little closer to home for all of us locals to enjoy. Thank you Michael, for giving us the pleasure of your great eats. Michael asked himself, “Where would I like to go to, to eat and drink, and enjoy interaction with people, and life outside of my home?” The Thunderbird Roadhouse was born. Established March 6, 2011, the Thunderbird Road House has the highest quality food guaranteed! This is just what you’d expect from a professional chef. It all starts with fresh quality ingredients, never frozen. The food is handled, and cooked properly, all characteristics of a great meal. People come to expect mediocre food when they go out to eat. Why settle for o.k. when you can eat at the Thunderbird Roadhouse, where food is a pleasure, not a necessity? Whether you choose the meatloaf (made with veal, pork, and beef), chicken fried steak, outrageous onion rings, perhaps the best nachos in the valley, or maybe the unbeatable chicken strips. You can wash ‘em down with any one of 36 different craft beers, as well as domestic, and imports . The Thunderbird Roadhouse has motorcycle friendly parking and

an outside smoking area. Hours of operation are Sunday and Tuesday 11:30 am – midnight. Wednesday-Saturday 11:30 am -2am. Mondays are closed. The focus here is not only his second to none homemade food dishes, but also the music. On Wednesday’s you can enjoy acoustic openmic night. Thursday is blues jam open-mic night, hosted by Bill Tarsha and the Rocket 88’s. Friday and Saturday offer many different bands, many of which are local acts that got their start at his open-mic night events. Musicians come from all over the valley to play a wide array of music from the blues to classic rock as well as some radio cover songs. Music is the main theme here, but that doesn’t mean you can’t catch your favorite team on TV. as well. Every wall is covered with TV.’s as well as the bars hosts ‘Buffy’ and ‘Jack’. They also have a game room with darts, pool, Harley Davidson pinball, and Big Buck hunter game. Tuesday’s are called “Craft Beer Tuesday”. From open to close you can order a craft beer at the same price as domestic beer prices. Between 7 to 9 pm. they have free taste-testing, that way you can order your craft beer of choice. On this particular Tuesday I was lucky enough to run into Big Sky Brewing out of Missoula, Montana, with Don Cutler showcasing his selection of craft beers. Opened in 1995 Big Sky Brewing can be found at Thunderbird Roadhouse, or on-line @ www.bigskybrew.com, as well as other locations in the valley. With March 6th being his 1 year anniversary, Michael Schuyler is planning something special. So stop on by, and let the food and drink speak for itself. I know I found a new spot for my dinners and drink. Thunderbird Roadhouse: 602-439-6800 or www. thunderbirdroadhouse.com also on fb!

CARBIN COPIES PRINCE SNOOKER SUCCESS
By Alan Morris Paul Carbin has repeated the United States Snooker Association (USSA) Tour success he had last season at the Prince Snooker Club in Brooklyn, New York, as he captured Event 8 on the 2012 USSA National Tour, sponsored by Aramith Billiard Balls. Raymond Fung has been dominating this season’s previous USSA Tour events played in the New York City area in Carbin’s absence, but this time the former United States National Snooker Championship runner-up lost out 4-1 to Carbin on Paul’s first appearance this season in what was a very hard fought out semifinal. Carbin, who honed his considerable snooker skills back in his native Ireland, again produced some fine form to win his group and to produce a 3-0 quarterfinal win over Chong Keng Sim, which included a break of 52, before then going into battle with Fung. Fung booked his place in the semifinals with a 3-1 quarterfinal win over Juno Chen, though went 2-0 behind Carbin after two close initial frames, with the Irishman producing a break of 52 in frame two. Fung reduced his arrears after he claimed the third frame which went down to the wire. Carbin though was soon 3-1 up assisted by a run of 56, and despite Fung stroking in a break of 55 in frame five it proved
March 2012
insufficient for him as Carbin won the match on the final black ball. In the final Carbin matched up against Yan Y. Zhen, who reached the semifinals of last year’s United States National Snooker Championship at the Prince Snooker Club. Yan had finished top of his group and then went onto have an easy 3-0 victory in the quarterfinals over Leo Li, and then proceeded to defeat Tim Lee 4-1 in the semifinals, which included a break of 48 in frame four. Carbin though proved far too tough for Yan in the final as he easily won the first two frames 71-31 and 6128 respectively. Frame three was slightly closer as it went down to the final colors 55-34. In the fourth frame Carbin fluked his initial red after attempting a combination shot, which scattered the reds into a frame winning opportunity, of which he took full advantage of by running a break of 82 to clinch the frame for a 4-0 final victory. The USSA would like to thank all the participants that made this Tour event at the Prince Snooker Club yet another success, and the association would particularly like to express its gratitude to Tommy Chen, the proprietor of the Prince Snooker Club, for his much valued support toward the USSA Tour. The 2011-12 USSA Tour next moves onto the Ace Snooker Club in San Mateo, California, for Event 9 over the weekend of March 10 & 11.
