or senators or help the people in power get there? My solution, keep as little money in the banks as you have to, so you can do what the system demands, do not pay your bills electronically or by bank check, get a money order and mail them, save your money elsewhere don’t pay to save your hard earned money. Pay cash whenever you can. INSPECT you bank statements, CLOSELY question ANYTHING you don’t understand and don’t just take a flippant answer from someone at the bank “show it to me in writing” why, how and what I came up with new idea for our papers, I’ve been caused it WHEN? thinking about a guest column letting people complain about our country, big businesses Oh I think next month I’ll ask why when I pay (phone companies, banks, and other giants that my $65.00 phone bill at one of the phone stores no longer care about us little people). Lately I’ve on the corner I have to pay $69.95 am I paying a had some experiences with all of the above.” fee to PAY my phone bill… mmmmm. .50 cent money order and a .44 cent stamp saves me about My latest run in was with a bank manager after $4.01per month, times that by 12 months. What a trying to give me a bunch of psycho babble she country we are becoming! couldn’t explain, made the statement “buyer beware”, stating “it’s not what the banker says to Now remember, when you start sending me you, it’s what is in the paper work(the fine print) bitching emails or letters they have to make sense that counts.” I questioned some charges and what and I will try hard to get them in the papers, if I think they were and how they worked to no avail, I could you have a point I can understand (I won’t have to only chuckle at her frustration. The fees that are agree) just understand what your complaint is, we charged by the banks are totally out of line, one will work hard to get it in. I will have a disclaimer fee can wipe out any interests the banks PROUDLY saying it’s the writers opinion BRAGS about, in an instance. If you have a savings not mine or the newspapers account with $500.00 in it and the bank pays you cause that’s what us media guys 3% per year on the money (which is really high), do not to get in trouble. I’m so what do you make? $15.00 right, the fee to MANAGE fed up with the bullshit we are your $500.00 is $3.00 or more a month. You get it, being fed by our political leaders $3.00 X 12 months is HOW MUCH? Gee I wish I had and those running for office, a license to do business that way. And that’s your there should be a easier way to SAVINGS ACCOUNT! Checking accounts, oh yes, it fire them then to impeach them, used to be illegal to write a check without money and I mean locally on up! in our account, now it’s encouraged because of the The other night I watched the Republican $30.00 to $35.00 fee that is charged by your helpful Presidential debates, three of the candidates said bank, and then if you don’t pay that fee within X “I PROMISE THAT WITHIN THE 1ST YEAR IN OFFICE I amount of days (about 7 to 14) there’s ANOTHER WILL” etc… now why can’t we get that IN WRITING, FEE, oh my God, what a surprise, that fee is about and fire their sorry butts if they don’t keep their $15.00. So for us “little people” does it really pay to promises? He’s applying for a job right? I bet they let these people watch our money and live in ivory all would be chickenshit to sign a contract with us towers? Ivory Towers yes, take a ride downtown, saying if I DON’T GET THIS, THIS, AND THIS DONE Phoenix, and look up. Whose name do you see on (my platform) IN THE FIRST 2 YEARS I WILL STEP the high rise building? Youuuuu got it! DOWN AND VOLUNTARILY LET MY OPPONENT Now Circle K and other convenience stores have THAT CAME IN SECOND TAKE MY PLACE AND money orders for about .35 cents to .99 cents and FINISH MY TERM IN OFFICE, and of course, we will a stamp for .44 cents to mail your money to people remember the opponent has a signed contract and debt collectors and if you keep your money with us too. Is this just too damn easy or did I miss under your pillow or in a shoe box for savings you something? get to keep ALL OF IT, no charge. Of course if you OK it’s your turn! have lots of money the banks will give you all their services free, because they got people like US to Oh, by the way, every wonder why the bullshit pay their bills! Want to borrow some money? Well politics don’t work in our pool and dart first if you can, what kind of interest do you think community? Think before you open your mouth. you should pay? Yes, go think again! God Help Us All Welcome to October 2011! Our heat is slowly leaving us and we are starting to enjoy why most of us moved to Arizona. Maybe it’s just my age but doesn’t it seem it gets hotter every summer? I’m turning in to a reverse snowbird, I know!

AN OZZY TRIBUTE

YOUR NAME/BAND NAME AND YOUR ROLE IN THE BAND: Happy Halloween everybody! ^o^ My name is Kevin Schuhmacher ^o^ I play Ozzy Osbourne in “I Don’t Know?” America’s Ozzy Super Tribute Group. Plus my original project SanctionS is almost 25 years old and going strong. DESCRIBE YOUR BAND AND MUSIC: Well I have two bands; it’s like having two banging wives. “I Don’t Know?” the Ozzy band is really cool, I’ve been doing this with Mark Simpson for 5 years now and it’s AMAZING! I’m telling you this guy Mark Simpson not only looks like a young Zakk Wylde but he’s playing the stuff note per note with that awesome Zakk tone and that ain’t easy. sweetie! We’ve had Sam I AM as Bassist for over a year now and he’s like our Bob Daisley. we’ve just recently added a new drummer Chris Howell who also drums for me in Sanctions. He really loves Randy Castillo when it comes to drumming the Ozzy stuff, plus he loves Black Sabbath. Look if you really do your home work on Ozzy tributes you’ll come to the conclusion that there are a few worldwide and then there are the few that actually look and sound and play the part, that’s our job and we do it well. And God Bless any one else that wants to walk in these guys shoes playing the different songs that Ozzy has, it ain’t easy baby! But damn is it fun! SanctionS my original band is a full deep new breath of what a more

modern Black Sabbath would sound like, with over tones of Dio meets Ozzy in my vocal dept. You see Dio and Ozzy kicked ass in Sabbath with Tracy Kimbrell as lead guitarist in Sanctions it’s like a modern Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi and even Randy Rhodes and Jake E. Lee and George Lynch and more but overall, Sanctions has been around for over 25 years and we have many, I mean many, songs to choose from that will impress you with premium stuff, man. HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU LEARNED TO STARTED SINGING AND WHO INSPIRED YOU? I was five years old when I started performing in church and preaching on the porch with a bible at age five, singing to the neighbors, “Satan’s gonna come for you!” I used to bury walkie talkies in the dirt outside my neighbors’ window and scream through it and he would run around looking for me, hell, he’s probably dead now? ... Hey Halloween!!! I’ve pooed from a tree. And I ain’t got nothing.............^o^ IF YOU COULD JAM WITH ANYONE ALIVE OR DEAD WHO WOULD IT BE? Well the beauty is I sing and play piano so I can jam with both. Hum? Jesus, Buddha, Ozzy Osbourne, Lucifer, Randy Rhoads, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Johnson, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Carey, John Lord, Vincent Price, Kerry Livgreen, Burl Ives, William Shatner, Rudy Sarzo, Bill Ward, and John Bohnam. How bout all these guys at one time? Let’s do it! WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL BAND?? This is another question I really must avoid because if I mention one band and forget another then that ain’t cool you know? So I like the bands I’m in and many more, we’ve got

some killer bands out here in AZ! WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VENUE TO PLAY AT IN AZ? The Blooze Bar. I sure miss the Mason Jar! Come on, Franco, re-open the Jar Brother! ^o^ WHAT’S YOUR POISON/DRINK OF CHOICE? I really like Coronas. And I must admit, I like Jack Daniels. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE BEST SONG YOU PERFORM? Damn we have a lot of good tunes. OK, here you go............. I Don’t Know? for IDK? and for Sanctions I would say, “What about it?” HAVE YOU EVER SNORTED ANTS? You know I’ve done many things that Ozzy’s done but snorting lines of ants hasn’t happened yet, I might just do it, but if I do, it’s gotta be in Scottsdale Fashion Square wearing a dress. Hell it’s gotta be better then everything else I’ve crammed up there. Hey at least it would be organic.

WHERE ARE YOUR GIGS FOR THE NEXT MONTH? We’re not playing in the Valley until Jan of 2012 at The Blooze bar in Phoenix. However we are in the studio right now adding seven more songs to our set list. And trust me these are killer additions to an Ozzy set list, I’m talking about some of the cream, baby! However I have an original

group called SanctionS and we’re doing a Private Halloween show Oct 29th here in Phoenix. SanctionS is a style of music that obviously is gonna sound like Sabbath and Ozzy but it’s also sweet like Dream Theater. You all know who Anne Hernandez is, right? Well go there on F.B. and you’ll find our Halloween Costume Party on OCT 29th. DO YOU EVER READ TABLE TALK AND DART STARR NEWSPAPERS? I worked for Spectrum Films and Dead Alive Productions distributing films like Peter Jacksons Meet The Feebles and Dead Alive and many more like Caligula and I was part of the crew that did the Traces Of Death Films 4, 5 and 6, and here’s the tie into Billiards, we had some kid come to us with an idea for a billiard glove. Well, we did our research and found we had one competitor the Sir Joseph, so we got hot on it and had these gloves made overseas and went to all the billiards conventions with , Roger ‘the Rocket’ Griffis sponsoring our new glove called SLIX. THE ULTIMATE BILLIARDS GLOVE. Hell, we probably ran an ad or two with you back then. Rocket Roger lives in Mesa, if I remember. I used to go over to his house and have beers and watch this guy just own it, man, I mean OWN that table. He was the 1999 ESPN 9 Ball Champion of the World. I met so many killer people in the billiards industry during those years. No I haven’t read a billiard magazine since then but I love billiards. Long live playing with balls that are yours on a felt table! DO YOU PLAY PRIVATE PARTIES AND ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING? Yes, both my bands are ready for anything you can throw at us, but remember… www.theozzytribute.com kss2010@gmail.com

MY BIRTHDAY PARTY @ THE ROADHOUSE

On Wednesday, September 21st, I celebrated my birthday at the Thunderbird Roadhouse…When I arrived Mike, the owner, had reserved me my favorite table right up front with all the cool party favors and balloons, awwwwww! The Porch Dawgs and Rayker started jammin’ and Sara C. FORCED me to drink a shot of Jagermeister. (LOL! Thanks girl, you rock!) So the evening was off to a good start. I spent a lot of time going back and forth from the bar to the smoking patio, wishing I could be both places at once, but the bar could barely hold everyone that showed up. I think this was the best birthday ever!

A huge thank you to all my friends who showed up to celebrate with me, I wish I could put all the pictures in the paper. AND thank you AZCRAZY MARK and DR. JACK for taking pictures and all the players for rocking the night away, and Mike and the great staff at Tbird Roadhouse for getting us all trashed, the bartender, Dave, for taking his shirt off (haha!), and all the cute Jesus lookalikes for being so cool and “Jesusy”. And congratulations James, for being the MOST Jesusy! Love you guys!

WILD BILL’S CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PARTY Hello everybody, tonight I’m coming to you from Wild Bills Bar and Party Patio located at the southwest corner of 27th Avenue and Glendale, to celebrate Customer Appreciation night. For those of you who don’t know, Jim and Gracie, owners of Wild Bills are very special people.

in service across the world. It is certainly a worthy cause and I urge veterans and civilians in the valley to support this cause. It certainly is worthy of our support. Valleri and Dan (retired Air Force) who recently celebrated their 25 year anniversary are helping with tonight’s festivities.

Three live bands, Midnight Aurora, Corium and Party Mcfly are rockin’ until the wee hours tonight and free hamburgers and hot dogs are being served, with drink specials being served by bartenders Melisa, Aurora and David Jr. Wild Bills has the only dunk tank in the state, (that I know of) where you can dunk a friend. Wild Bills always has something going on, and I urge our readers to stop by and have fun and enjoy their hospitality. It truly is a fun place and I won’t soon forget the great time I had this evening. And last but certainly not least, from all the staff here at Billiards Table Talk and Dart Starr, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACIE AND MAY YOU HAVE MANY, MANY MORE! THE TEA PARTY & I

Dr. Jack Well let’s talk politics! I’m interested in what the difference is between a Democratic, Republican and a Tea Party member. I have an idea but I’m not too sure, I think the Tea Party member is a guy like me that is finally fed up with the bullshit the Democrats and the Republicans have been feeding me for the last hundred years or so, does that sound right? Now why is it when I take a job and promise to deliver certain responsibility to my employer and fail to do that, I get fired, and why doesn’t that apply to the politicians we hire based on their promises? Has anyone ever thought perhaps we need to have contracts between us and the politicians we hire? Let’s say we elect (hire) a Senator, his promises (platform) is to reduce taxes, increase jobs and stop corruption in government, now that’s why we hired him, right? Let’s have a contract signed by him with a stipulation saying that if he fails to do what he promises in the first two years he must resign and allow his opponent of that election to take over his seat for the next two years with the same stipulations if he fails, no more bullshit that the devil made me do it or the other guys wouldn’t cooperate…cause they would, if they all had contracts. Now these contracts should be signed by the prospects seeking a job from us or wanting to keep the job they have now. Not just babble a bunch of rhetoric during their campaign that has been proven to mean nothing because there are no consequences when they fail, they just get to bullshit us again with the same excuses, and for some reason we fall for it, let’s let them hang themselves with their own promises. Any political takers on this one, now I know there must be some very smart attorneys in the Tea Party that could draw up an iron clad contract that would execute the dismissal automatically. It would be like Miss America screwing up and her second stepping in and taking over, yes that easy! Now I think some organization like the Tea Party could do this easily without passing new laws, just publicly announce the contract, advertise it to the public and ask any potential candidate to sign it, and if she or he will not, that SHOULD tell us something right, and we should tell everyone they refused to take

Billiards Table Talk OCTOBER 2011

responsibility of their promises. I’m not talking just about our Federal Government I mean every government local, state and national, any position you are elected to or appointed to, a contract should be mandatory, we could even throw in a lie detector test every now and then at will. Could you imagine if everyone in office had to live up to their promises or, through no fault of anyone’s but their own, they would be fired automatically? Can you even imagine what a much more wonderful place we would live in? Let’s fight to bring back our country to the people and for the people. Where do you start, go to a local Tea Party meeting see what they are all about, send your ideas and contract ideas to the Tea Party, if you don’t know where to send them go online and type in Tea Party or send them to me and I will pass them on to the right people. Your ideas don’t need to be formal, neat or even correct; they just need to be HEARD. By the way, what is your responsibility to your country? Some say well, I served in the service! Is that in itself enough, let’s start at our local level and make our politician AND THE bureaucrats sign contracts every 2 years as to what they will get done and if they don’t fulfill their contract they are automatically replaced. I’m sorry people but I’m fed up with the bullshit I’m hearing, some of it by the same old people trying to make the same old crap work. Let’s give our youth of today the opportunities of the past, not the hard times, but the times to succeed by your abilities, when our government and banks were US yes they belonged to us they helped us they had faith in us and they weren’t the “BUSINESS” we were, they depended on our success for theirs. How and when did that turn around and we have to start bowing and sucking up to them to make a living, quotas, outrageous laws, rule, regulations, inspections, and all the things to keep us in our place. It’s time everyone to put them in THEIR PLACE! If you don’t like working for us, then get the hell out of the kitchen. Put your platform promises in a simple contract explaining in simple language what you promise to do in the first 2 years and agree that you are to leave that office if you fail for ANY REASON. Let’s call this a NO BULLSHIT CONTRACT.

Faces From The Past

Hidden Treasures ...In Your Home! Have you ever wished you had an extra 10, 20 or maybe 100 bucks, most of us have! Well look around your house or apartment in your bathroom or your closet, do you have a jewelry box? Most of us buy or receive gifts that we wear for awhile, then just simply set aside and forget about, this could be your hidden treasure that will help pay the rent or car payment or just let you go out tonight and have some fun. Jim at Lucky Gold on 35th Ave. and Northern Ave. tells me that people are always surprised to find out what kind of treasures they are storing and what they are worth. Lucky Gold buys gold, silver, scrap, broken jewelry and other precious metals, I’ve known Jim for awhile and watched him help people and advise

them on how they should be aware when dealing with just anyone, he laughed when he told me, “I don’t sell phones, smokes, or trinkets and other odds and ends, I buy gold, silver and other metals. That’s my business and I give everyone a fair shake, if people don’t know what their items are worth, tell them to stop by and I’ll appraise it for them.” The next time you need some cash, go treasure hunting around your house and then go see Jim at Lucky Gold, just maybe you’ll hit the jackpot.

Stacy Allsup Wins Her Second AWBT Event! September 16, 2011 by Tres Kane Stacy Allsup defeated Kristin Haney 9-8 to win Stop #4 at Bullshooters in Phoenix. This was Stacy’s second tour win and along with fellow Las Vegan, Rebecca Wagner, they have won all four AWBT events this season. For Kristin Haney, of Prescott Valley, this second place finish, along with a fourth in April, proves she is still a woman to be reckoned with in the Arizona pool scene. Play began Saturday with 26 ladies from the southwest and Wisconsin. After the computer draw, one bracket in particular, was loaded with AWBT point leaders. Susan Williams had a first round win over Susan “Madhatter” Mello 7-2, but in the next round she lost to point leader, Rebecca Wagner, 7-5. Then Rebecca lost 7-5 to Kristin Haney who had just beaten Sara Miller. Just like that, four of the tournament favorites were in the loser’s bracket. Only Wagner and Mello would make it out to play on Sunday. In the winner’s semis on Sunday, Stacy Allsup defeated her road partner Amy Encinias and Susan Wilbur beat Kristin Haney. Stacy put herself in the hot seat with a 7-4 win over Wilbur. On the loser’s side, Jeri Engh had her best finish this year (5th) with her win over LA’s Barbara Lee 7-4. Susan Mello put an end to Rebecca Wagner’s quest for her third title in a row by beating her 7-4. Kristin Haney ended Engh’s tournament 7-2 and then had a tough win over Mello 7-5. Haney then avenged her earlier loss to Wilbur by 7-1 to climb back into the finals. The final was a very intense and deliberate affair. Neither player could gain more than a 2 game lead so it was no surprise that it came to hill-hill. In the final game

both players would have their chances at the table and the title, but Stacy was the one to make the final 9 ball. Congratulations Stacy Allsup on a great win. In the 2nd Chance Tournament Nina Tagley wanted to redeem herself from Saturday’s play. Redeem it she did as she defeated Susan Williams in the final to take down the $100 first prize. We had 12 Second Chancer’s. Remember…the 2nd Chance is open to all women, even if you don’t play in the main event. It is $5.00 entry for those who did not play in main event.

Thanks again to Mike and Julie Bates and their staff for having us. Not only did they add $300 to the main event but also kicked in an additional $100 to the 2nd Chance event.

BELIEVE IN HEROES™ First Semi-Annual Blues Mini-Fest At 11 a.m. on November 11, 1918, “the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month,” a ceasefire came into effect that would end World War I. For this reason, the date is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.” Eightythree years later, on September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked and crashed four commercial airliners, killing thousands of Americans. The events of that day would inspire droves of brave men and women to answer the call to duty to enlist in our country’s all-volunteer armed services. All veterans face challenges as they return to society, and today’s wounded warriors are meeting extraordinary obstacles. These include visible, physical injuries as well as invisible ones, like posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our challenge goes beyond just raising awareness for veterans, but by addressing the real hurdles our warriors face as they return to civilian life. Believe in Heroes™ is a Wounded Warrior Project™ initiative that

at Thunderbird Roadhouse!

SouthWest Corner of 35th Ave & Thunderbird Rd.

Saturd ay October 29th 2pm-10pm

calls on Americans to recognize the enormous sacrifices made by our newest generation of veterans and to honor the service of these individual over a two-month campaign leading up to Veterans Day. The Believe in Heroes campaign will provide the American public with an opportunity to show their support and appreciation of our veterans in their communities, and across the nation. To find out more about this effort, or the Wounded Warrior Project organization, please visit them at www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Your support and donations will go towards the many men and women who serve abroad. Get involved.
