Call for Proposals - Restorative Practices Consultant The Detroit Justice Center is a nonprofit law firm founded in 2018 on the belief that we cannot build cities that work for everyone without remedying the impacts of mass incarceration and transforming our justice system. Our values drive everything we do and we want our internal culture to mirror the grace and compassion with which we approach our work. We would like to implement restorative practices as a culture of “calling in” as opposed to the progressive discipline approach to corrective action and conflict management. DJC seeks a consultant that will: ● ● ●

Support the culture setting/institution building process of restorative practices and policy alignment at DJC Train staff and leadership on restorative practices as a tool to resolve conflict in the organization Provide support in the process of aligning and integrating these practices into our human resources policies and procedures

The consultant should be: ● ● ●

Well versed in restorative practices and implementing them in a workplace environment An experienced trainer/facilitator with the ability to actively listen and encourage team dialogue Aligned deeply with the mission and values of DJC, taking a proactive stance on social justice causes

The estimated budget for this work is $15,000 - $19,000. Please submit proposals/inquiries by Friday, April 23, 2021 electronically to seniorleaders@detroitjustice.org with the subject line “Restorative Practice Consultant Proposal”. Proposals will be evaluated on thoroughness of response, a demonstrated understanding of DJC’s mission and vision and the requisite qualifications and experience to perform the proposed work.
