Camperdown head mechanic Jeremy Tagand dispensed with almost all stock factory bodywork on this XVS950 – no expense was spared in giving the Bolt its nip, tuck and massage; modified Series one SR tank, a custom sub frame for the new pouch seat, lowered front forks, new alloy wheels, fabricated aluminium

After this lengthy laundry list of mods the fresh faced V-twin emerged from surgery lighter, faster and louder. Enough to put a twinkle in every VTwin lovers eye.

DUST UP POSTER ART OF THE DTRA
Summer 2014 sees the first instalment of six t-shirts featuring poster art commissioned for the UK Dirt Track Riders Association (DTRA). Each poster that has been created by a different artist to promote and support the DTRA’S ongoing amateur dirt track events have been lovingly reprinted as exclusive Deus t-shirts. Proceeds from these t-shirts will go towards keeping the finest grassroots dirt track association in the United Kingdom turning left and left again.

...Both exhibiting and commercial artists, their prolific output for the Australian music and movie industry has left many a street lamp adorned with their distinct poster work. Each artwork showcases a dichotomy between hand-made and digital techniques, a conversation played out in colour, shape and texture. Drawing from shared influences of comic books, skateboarding, music and film the WBYK art collaboration with Deus this season has resulted in two unique garments with an ineffable voodoo that may just heighten your flight path or send you a little faster down a highway of resplendent excess.
Deus are thrilled to grab their ear for a moment in amidst their bustling schedules.
• Ive heard stories of a particular deadline crisis that involved carting a screen printing carousel through the streets of sydney. So true. That was the first poster we did for Damo Suzuki &The Holy Soul - and Sonny was screen-printing it in our front room during a severe heat wave. The electricity went out and everything started clogging up so yeah, we carted the whole 4 - arm carousel over to a friend’s place and had a go of it there. Then the power came back on so moved everything back down the lane, and up the stairs to the original space. All in the space of 2 and a half hours, so we could get the prints to the show.
• All your art seems to merge and exploit the virtues of both hand crafted and digitally lead design. AT the end of the day do you have a preference for one over the other?

• What does a typical day in the WBYK studio sound like these days? At the moment we’re working from our home studio again, so it’s rise / coffee / work / work / pat a cat / coffee / work / tea / sleep / repeat. We try and stick to a calendar with jobs blocked into certain timeframes but essentially end up jumping from project to project as different urgent deadlines come through. In a way that keep things interesting, and always moving.
• As a part time barista passionate about the social virtues of sharing a cup of coffee with your fellow man, can you lift the lid on your favourite coffee bean joints around town for the uninitiated ? As creatures of habit and because they are close and they make great coffee, we can’t go past Campos Coffee in Newtown. Mecca Coffee in the city is great and we are really excited for the Golden Cobra’s shop front in Marrickville, which will be opening around the time you read this
