Rain Garden Workshop Saturday, January 26, 8:45am – 4:30pm Rain gardens are logical and beautiful solutions to managing stormwater on many properties. This workshop will help you learn the skills needed to design, build and maintain rain gardens. It will also prepare volunteers and resource professionals to serve as a local resource to other community members interested in building rain gardens. Workshop Topics: - overview of stormwater management - site assessment - rain garden sizing and design - construction and maintenance - plants appropriate for coastal rain gardens - alternative rain garden designs for challenging sites Trainers: Derek Godwin, author of the Oregon Rain Garden Manual, Oregon State University Extension Service, and Maria Cahill, Sustainable Site Development Specialist of Green Girl Land Development Solutions Who should attend: Gardeners, landscapers, local governments, watershed councils, business owners, and building professionals. Dress for both indoor and outdoor training components.
