Outdoor School Parent Volunteers The Polk Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) encourages, appreciates, and needs parent volunteers to make Outdoor School a success. Please read the following to see if you are interested.
Parent volunteers must abide by the following rules:
Parent volunteers will have an assigned task and will not rotate through stations with their children. However if a parent is helping at a station, their child will rotate through that station.
All parent volunteers will assist in meal set-up and clean up.
Parent volunteers cannot stay overnight due to limited sleeping space.
No one is allowed to roam freely about the campground for security reasons.
All parent volunteers must turn in a background check with the school district in order to attend Outdoor School. o Background Check Forms can be picked up from the school or the School’s District office. Return completed form back to the school.
Parent volunteers are not allowed to bring anyone with them (including pets).
No tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, or weapons are allowed on camp property.
Parent volunteers must wear long pants and closed toed shoes (No shorts, capris, sandals or flipflops).
Parent volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from the camp. Carpooling with other parent volunteers is encouraged!
Students will ride the school bus to and from the camp.
o Parent volunteers are not allowed to pick up their children unless it is pre-arranged.
I have read and understand the above Parent Volunteer Rules. I understand I will be assisting with meals and will not be rotating with my child. I have completed the ODS Parent Volunteer Application (on reverse side) and turned in a Background Check Form to my child’s school. Parent Printed Name

Thursday, May 9, 2013: 6 AM – 1PM (Students leave around 1PM on Thursday) Meals: Breakfast & Lunch If you would like to be a parent volunteer at Outdoor School, but cannot work any of the above shifts, please contact us and we will attempt to work with your schedule. ODS Camp T-Shirts available for purchase. Cost for one tee-shirt is $12.00. Do you want to purchase a t-shirt: Yes / No (circle one) If yes, what size (adult size): S / M / L / XL/ XXL / XXXL (circle one) Checks for meals and ODS T-shirts are to be made out to the Polk Soil & Water Conservation District. You may turn in your volunteer application and check with your child’s forms to the school or mail your volunteer form with check to the Polk SWCD, 580 Main St., Suite A, Dallas, OR 97338.
