Bandung Creative Hub Balai Pusdiklat PT. KAI Rel Kereta Api Masjid Baiturouf Lahan Apartemen Lifestyle Center
Brief The brief for this assignment is to design a lifestyle center with the site located on Jl. Laswi. The objective of the assignment is for the student to understand the concept of "place-making", by making a safe and comfortable place to enhance self-actualization of the Bandung citizens.
Building Concept
Lifestyle Center is a place where public space has a relevant function to the people activity. LAVIDA is here to gather people to experience activities.
Garden as an open public space of the building represents the openness of people whenever they do activities. Building form was based on the idea that the building hugs the garden at the center with two arms indicating the building effort to accommodate people activities with comfort and safety.
Focusing on the concept of garden as people, gardens are put on the rooftop to maximize the space for public functions of the building, creating the nuance of warmness, like hugs. Hugs are comforting for lives of people, hence creating a "comfort zone".
