Norma D Hunter: It’s Knot Magic Walk from the Clootie Well in Munlochy to Huntly: 7-11 November 2011 Artist Norma D Hunter will be creating a Huntly Wish Tree. From the Clootie Well in Munlochy, Black Isle, Norma will collect water and bring it home to Huntly by foot. On the last leg of her week long pilgrimage through Invernesshire and Moray, Mount Everest Climber Mark Inglis will accompany her on the 11th of November from Ruthven back to Huntly. All welcome to join Norma and Mark from Ruthven to Huntly (ca 10k) on 11 November. Start: 11 am, The Square, Huntly by minibus, finish ca 3.30pm. Picnic afterwards. Clootie Wells are a long standing tradition in Scotland. The waters of the wells are believed to be very beneficial to health. By dipping a strip of clothing from an afflicted person in the waters of the well and hanging them on a nearby tree the illness is to leave the person as the material deteriorates. On arrival Norma will create a wishing tree in Huntly’s Meadow Woods blessed with the waters of the well. tel: 01466 794494 I www.deveron-arts.com
