WHAT TYPE OF BED SUITS YOU? Frame or continental? Or perhaps adjustable? A good portion of the choice is based on your own taste and habits. Many like the simple design of a frame bed; others prefer the sturdiness of a continental bed with a reversible mattress. But we also think you should ask yourself how you want to use your bed. Do you watch television or use a computer in bed? Then perhaps you want an adjustable model.

That’s why you really need to test out our beds before making your decision. 7 ZONES Our finest beds have pocket springs with 7 zones adapted to every individual part of your body. They ensure lower pressure on head/shoulders and hips, while providing more support at the waist and lower back, to keep your spine straight when you lie on your side. 5 ZONES In these beds, the torso and waist zones are combined into one, as are the thigh and knee zones. This zone division is perfect when you have a broader waist and hip. 3 ZONES Compared with the 5-zone bed, we’ve combined two more zones, so the bed adapts to torso, hips and legs – which is usually ideal for people with broad or sore shoulders.

BEDS WITHOUT ZONES In a bed without zones, all the springs provide equal resistance over the entire bed, which some people prefer. Because even our beds without zones have pocket springs closest to the body, you are always assured good comfort. TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF SPRINGS Beds from Viking contain springs made of the highest quality Swedish steel. What makes us different from many other manufacturers is that we always have pocket springs as the top layer, closest to your body. Pocket springs are the best at adapting to the shape of your body. Each spring is held in place by separate fabric bags, ensuring that each one is compressed individually, without affecting the others. That gives pocket spring mattresses superior comfort and elasticity. Bonnell springs are a simpler, but well proven spring system. Bonnell springs are interlinked, providing good elasticity, which is why we use them in the bottom layer.

WHAT FIRMNESS SUITS YOU? Our beds are available with soft, medium, firm and extra-firm springs. Your ideal firmness depends in part on your weight and sleeping position. In general, the heavier you are, the firmer a bed you should have. You should also choose a firmer bed if you often sleep on your stomach. But above all it’s the feeling of comfort in the bed that determines what

ADJUSTABLE

PLYWOOD BASE

A motor-powered bed that allows you to choose different sitting and lying positions for different activities.

Our beds are built on a plywood base.

BONNELL SPRINGS A simple, durable spring system, where the springs are interlinked with helical wires. Often used in the bottom layer of box spring bases.

POCKET SPRINGS An exclusive spring system in which each spring is sewn into a separate cloth bag, which are then combined to form mattresses in different firmnesses. A mattress can have one, two or three spring layers. Viking is the only bed maker that offers beds with four spring layers.

COLD FOAM A polyurethane foam that is used in mattresses and box springs.

CONTINENTAL A bed consisting of box springs and a spring mattress that is sometimes reversible. It often has several spring layers, which provide greater comfort.

COROVIN A protective layer of material that prevents dust from getting into the bed.

FIRMNESS Viking beds can be ordered with soft, medium, firm or extra-firm springs. The basic rule is the greater the weight, the firmer the springs.

FRAME A classic spring mattress with a wooden frame that can be used independently with a headboard or in a bed frame.

LATEX Used as filling in top mattresses, among other things. Latex relieves pressure and wicks away moisture.

QUALLOFIL® Fibres that efficiently wick away body heat and moisture.

RECOFELT A wadding material made from recycled cold foam.

REVERSIBLE POCKET A reversible mattress with pocket springs.

WADDING A filling material with a high level of comfort.

X-POCKET A premium short spring that provides superior surface softness while enhancing bounce and pressure-point relief.

ZONES The springs in a mattress can be divided into 1–7 different zones to match the body’s anatomy.
