PORTFOLIO GRAPHIC DESIGN & PHOTOGRAPHY
Hi There! My name is Denise Ferioli, and I am a graphic designer and photographer. Although I like to dabble in many different areas of design, I most particularly love branding, layout design, and social media marketing design. From a young age, I have had a love for visual arts. Photography was like my first high school love, but graphic design was the person I met in college and knew I’ll get married to and spend the rest of my life with. Some quick facts about me: I am Filipino American, I have grown in Florida for most of my life, my favorite animals are penguins, capybaras, and frogs, and I like to frequently go to theme parks. I’d love to get to know you more, reader, so don’t be afraid to contact me! Let’s connect!

Lucky Dog Bakery is a dog bakery that makes dog curated crunchies and other non-sweet treats for pups of all sizes. Lucky Dog Bakery is a brick-and-mortar style, but can also specialize in custom orders and delivery. Think Dunkin meets Insomnia Cookies... but for dogs. Packaging can come in different sized boxes from smaller to larger orders, pre-baked goodie bags, as well as in a small to-go bag for a quick taste test. Lucky Dog Bakery is for those who want to bring a smile to their dog’s day with a simple treat, or to give them their own barker’s dozen box. All ingredients used in crunchies and jerky sticks are dog-safe, and technically, human safe too! Flavors of crunchies range on a large menu from peanut butter, to cheese, to fruits and veggies. Owners are also welcome to purchase matching pup socks or pup bandanas that contain our logo and patterns. Brand colors, typefaces, and logo are directly inspired by my late pup, Lucky. The outline of the dog logo is a hidden nod of Lucky’s nose.

LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
Leadership Summit hosted by the Asian Pacific American Coalition at UCF is an event geared towards Asian Americans to teach and empower students to be advocates and leaders within our community; take an opportunity to network with distinguished professors and campus leaders, and get to learn more about UCF and what we have to offer, This is an in-person event, which was held at the Celeste Hotel on UCF’s campus on August 10, 2021, for the first time in APAC history. As Creative Director of APAC, I created a logo that represents both the lotus of the APAC brand, as well as the flame in the middle to allow APIDA students to light and engulf the flame within themselves to speak their language, represent their culture, and learn more about their identity outside of the surface level. Check out more of my APAC work on Instagram at @apacucf

New Hope for Kids has been helping Central Florida children in need since 1996. Our purpose is to bring hope, healing and happiness to children and families suffering from grief, loss or life-threatening illnesses. Funding comes primarily through charitable donations by individuals, corporations, foundations and community service organizations in Central Florida. No funding is received from government agencies. New Hope for Kids is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. I was assigned to create the 2020 Annual Report for New Hope for Kids, using their data, numbers, and imagery assets. I designed the book in InDesign and heavily accessed Photoshop for color correction on photos, as well as creating the doodles across each spread.

MITSKI BOOK COVER
In Spring 2021, I was assigned to design a book dust jacket based off a song of my own choosing. I chose the song Your Best American Girl by Mitski Miyawaki, a Japanese-American singer. The song mentions about the want for a relationship with someone of different racial identity, and Mitski’s personal upbringing of being Asian American in a white dominating society. I felt personally close to this song as an Asian American, and wanted to use my own photography to express my own interpretation of the song. I used alphabet soon to rearrange the letters of the title of the song/book. The two spoons on the front cover are inspired by the lyrics from the song, “If I could, I’d be your little spoon And kiss your fingers forever more But, big spoon, you have so much to do And I have nothing ahead of me”

SCREENPRINTING GO CRAZY SERIES
A screenprinting series I did in December 2021 based off a life motto I live by, “Go Crazy.” I had no plan to how I wanted to complete this screenprinting project, so I took random images and assets I found in magazines and stock websites and scrapped something together, outside of my comfort zone. I then scanned images and letters through my printer, post assembled it in Photoshop, and printed out each halftone layer. The entire series took 14 hours to print (in one day), and each print is different in that they are unique variations and order of CMYK, as well as halftone frequency and shape.. For example, one print I would start by printing a Magenta layer, then Yellow, then Key/Black.
Go Crazy!
