Mani-Pedi STAT with Author Deb Ebenstein

Presented in partnership with The Women Philanthropy and Young Adult Divisions of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston

Sunday, May 1 | 7:30 PM $18 Per Person | Single ticket provides author discussion, dessert reception and a copy of the featured book Evelyn Rubenstein JCC, Kaplan Theatre

Join Deb Ebenstein a Jersey girl turned wife, mother and survivor for an evening that will make you laugh and cry at the same time! Deb is the author of Mani-Pedi STAT, a laugh-out-loud funny, sassy, helpful, and profoundly honest memoir that chronicles her two bouts with cancer, and a rare blood disorder. Navigating cancer treatments while continuing to balance real life and then returning to a world she doesn’t quite recognize anymore. Deb discovers that at the very worst of times—when her body is bloated and her future is uncertain and bleak—that the generosity of girlfriends, family, and a good mani-pedi can lift the spirits and help her thrive and survive. Thanks to OPI, a world leader in the professional nail care industry for selecting the color of the evening, Suzi’s Hungary Again. A complimentary bottle of this bright color will be given to every attendee. SNEAK PEEK: Laura Yosowitz, producing director of Vital Arts Collaborative, offers our opening night audience a sneak peek of Stars of David: Story to Song, a dazzling new musical revue that opens at the J on May 11. Deb Ebenstein is a graduate of Rutgers College and received her Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University. In her first published book, Mani-Pedi STAT, she gives an honest and notso-proper account of her experience with serious illness and recovery. She lives in Westchester County, New York with her husband and two children and devotes every Sunday night to polishing her fingers and toes to perfection Register by April 20 at erjcchouston.org/celebratingwomen
