It’s all too easy to get in a dark color rut when getting dressed. Ensconcing yourself in black, gray, and navy creates a solid uniform you can trust will always make you look slim and cool; those colors also happen to go with any accessory in your wardrobe. Before you hit the stores to buy up what your closet has been missing for so long, think about your coloring. No, it’s not about whether you’re an autumn, spring, or winter, that old fad has been out for decades. There is actually a pink, blue, and yellow shade suitable for every woman, determined by your skin’s undertones. There are two choices: warm or cool. A woman of color can be cool, just as a woman who thinks of herself as “pale” or “pasty” can be warm-toned. How can you tell? Go ahead and turn your wrist over so the underside is showing. Look at your veins. If they have a greenish cast you’re warm, if they have a purplish cast you’re cool. Cool-toned ladies should stay with cool colors and warm with warm. Take yellow for example, a sunshine yellow is best on a warm-toned gal, whereas a light, barely there yellow works on cool tones.

In today’s culture of imposed accessibility, Mert & Marcus have, despite their fame, remained velied in mystique, beyond the reach of the prying lenses af the blog paparazzi and Twitter stars. With every year, every story and every campaign, the myth of Mert & Marcus has gown stronger. With no furtherado, for the first time, in their own images and words they told the story of the reclusive duo who have defined fashion photography over the past decade. JUSTIN BIEBER The rise of Justin Bieber was such a blinding explosion of hair and smiles and YouTube cuteness that it was easy to miss his music’s ironic achievement: its light touch. His first two releases – the 2009 EP My World and 2010’s full-length My World 2.0 – were snuggle-fresh and butterfly-light, luxuriating in R&B bubblegum and first-blush puppy lust. At a time when 12-year-olds can get porn on their iPod Touches, the Biebs made flirty innocence thrive. But Justin’s 18 now, legal and, according to Believe, fully lethal. “Swag, swag, swag on you/Chillin’ by the fire while we’re eating fondue,” he sings on the sinewy electro-pop single “Boyfriend,” easing the transition from pup to playa in one of the year’s more awesome lyrics. On Believe, Biebs’ voice has deepened (physically and digitally), the beats are more driving and libidinous, the sonic settings more intense and wide-ranging. Bieber aspires to the tight versatility of his benefactor Usher, who is one of the album’s executive producers. Bieber’s revamped sound makes room for universalist Euro-house (“All Around the World”) and high-drama hip-hop boom (“As Long as You Love Me”), and on “Right Here,” Drake and Bieber go low-talking Lothario to low-talking Lothario. It’s cosmopolitan pop sophistication, designed to make this the Bieber album 18-and-over

folks can like without feeling like they’re joining NAMBLA. Believe’s recently legal euphemisms aren’t always smooth. On “Fall,” he croons, somewhat ickily, “If you spread your wings, you can fly away with me.” Sometimes he barrels through euphemism entirely. The bonus track, “Maria,” about a real-life fan’s phony paternity suit, is “Billie Jean” by way of Matt Lauer Reports – “She’s crazy/Crazy in love!” Bieber sings, sowing his celebrityvictimhood oats. Sometimes, however, the results are excellent and hilarious. On the Max Martin-produced disco-inferno “Beauty and the Beat,” Nicki Minaj swoops down like a horny hawk: “Justin Bieber/ You know I’m gonna hit ‘em with the ether/Buns out, wiener/But I gotta keep an eye out for Selena.” Bieber doesn’t have the soulful vocal snaps of a Justin Timberlake or the shockand-awe charisma of a Britney Spears. His gently sparkling persona can get overwhelmed by all the sonic gear-switching, technological tomfoolery and sweaty come-ons; it can all feel a bit rushed. The best song on Believe, “Thought of You,” has it both ways, combining the impulse to wait with the impulse to get down into a pure-pop fever dream. Over producer Diplo’s superhero piano stabs, double-time hand claps and a whoosh-trance build that leads to a chorus Lady Gaga would give her favorite wig for, Bieber goes into spirals of falsetto rapture as a cyclone of contradictory emotion: “I’m in love with the thought of you/Not the things you do,” he admits. It’s the moment where Justin lives most honestly in the swag-and fondue-deprived world of his fans – crushed out to the point of asphyxiation, pulled in a million directions, chasing feelings he can’t understand to consequences he’ll probably regret. While this year’s Cannes Film Festival worked fashion ensembles like no other, it was the gorgeous hair and makeup looks that really captivated. Here’s how to channel the most beautiful looks seen on the red carpet. Arguably Cannes’ most fashionable starlett, Diane Kruger, looked the epitome of elegance during the festival’s opening ceremony. As one of fashion’s top runway models, Natasha Poly has the smoldering-eyes thing down pat. On the Gucci fall 2012 catwalk, her unwavering stare was accompanied by pursed blackberry lips that accentuated razor-sharp cheekbones. Poly wore Gucci again over the weekend, at the Cannes Film Festival, only this time her steady gaze was offset by a radiant smile. Sure, Poly’s eyes were rimmed with runway-ready black, but they appeared more elegant than edgy, thanks to a winged shape and softened texture: instead of heavy liner, her look was achieved using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Eternal Black. For a flawless complexion, the L’Oréal Paris spokesmodel also wore the brand’s True Match Super-Blendable Makeup, which boasts SPF 17—something that undoubtedly appealed to her: “The one thing I always use is sunscreen,” she once told us. “I enjoy the sun, but I try to be careful.” The 28year old actress wore a black multi coloured Dolce & Gabbana floral gown at the Cannes red carpet this year. The look reminds me of Spanish Flamenco dancers which she carried off really well without looking too dramatic. She wore her hair in a side swept bouffant ponytail which totally compliments her floral dress and natural makeup. I’m digging her shoes, just that they are boring black...where are the colours baby? But then with so much of drama going on the dress, she decided to play safe with the shoes.
