In my opinion, architecture is a subject full of contradictions. Every great building needs to solve many contradictions, and then compromise to other contradictions. A good architect will be good at dealing with the contradiction between the building and the site and the contradiction between the building interior space and people, so as to achieve the relative balance of the whole building. So I think architecture is a subject of philosophical thinking.

ANOTHER ENDING - CHANGE LIFE, START FRESH ——House of 1900 - A Virtual Role of Film ' The Legend of 1900 '
'The Legend of 1900' is an Italian film with high international reputation. The design gives the film an alternative ending-1900 was persuaded by Max to leave Viginian at last and start a new life on land. This building is designed for 1900 according to his personality. Many film dialogues, personal emotion and film space are extracted to form customized architectural space. For example, the shape of the house is based on the appearance of Viginian. Five film space carrying emotion are transformed into five architectural sections which combine to a house.
Max has been the best friend of 1900 since they met in Virginian. He promised to visit 1900 in his house on land. 1900 was all the rage after he got off the ship, and he recently moved to a new house in Cefalu. Now Max decided to make good on his promise to visit 1900.
Dear 1900 How are you doing after you get off the ship? I hope you all the best. Have you met the girl? Do you talk about me with the girl? I've heard that you recently moved to Cefalu in Sicily. It's a nice town where you can hear the sound of sea everywhere. I bet you must love there very much. I plan to visit you soon. Do you still remember our agreement? I'll bring a couple of bottles of wine so that we can talk about the fun we had on Virginian. We can even play a few songs together, just like we used to. So is your house really shaped like a ship? I can imagine that there couid be some chimneys like that on a ship stuck across your house. Your house will also have a deck, and the things on that will be exactly the same as on Virginian. You'll show me around your house. We can even play together after dinner, watching the sun going down at the end of the sea. I'm looking forward to it. Yours sincerely Max
SITE PLAN
The building is on a cliff near the sea in Cefalu, Sicily. Cefalu is a famous tourist town which attracts thousands of visitors every year. The buildings of Cefalu are mostly built along the mountains and sea, enjoying the sunshine and wind from the Mediterranean all the year.

FILM DIALOGUES
FILM BACKGROUND
- Why don’t you get off the ship? Get yourself the finest house. The world is out there. Nothing but a gangplank to cross.
The film ‘The Legend of 1900’is directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, a famous Italian director, as well as ‘Malèna’ and‘Cinema Paradiso’ . These three films are called‘Time trilogy’ of Giuseppe Tornatore and all filmed in Sicily ,his hometown. According to the director’s favor and personality of 1900, the small town Cefalu of Sicily would be a good place to settle down for 1900.
- I’m getting off this ship. - My man...that’s aces. - I’ve got to see the ocean down there. - I’ve always wanted you to leave the ship and play for the people on land. - You’ll come visit me, won’t you, Max? On land? - Of course. While you showing me around your house shaped like a ship.
EMOTION EXPRESSION AND SPACE OF FILM
The emotion of 1900 is reflected in many ways with the promotion of film. The space of the film is also a breakthrough point of the design of 1900’s house. The building extracts many feature space of film and transform them into architectural space ,as well as the feelings of people.
6
SPATIAL TRANSFORMATION
The design extracts five typical emotions of 1900 in the film, as well as the spatial characteristics of the film in certain emotional atmosphere. In addition, by extracting and recombining these elements of film space, five sections related to the film space are generated and assigned to appropraite function. The atmosphere of each section space is designed to be associated with the mood of the film. At last, these sections combine to a house.

THE SCENES OF SPACE
The entrance space is related to the gangplank outside the ship in the film. The visitors ascend a gangplank to the roof deck where the entrance door lies on. The meditation space is near the bedroom with a chimney delivering natuaral light. The function of this scene comes from the meditation space where at last 1900 waited for death in the movie. The top space of this building is translated from the deck scene on the ship in the movie. The design of the living room of the building is inspired by the high and low platforms on the ship. In addition, the window opening of the building is the same as the porthole of the ship. The end of the building is the climax of the whole story. 1900’s recital room is located here. The inspiration here comes from the scene of 1900 playing the piano on the inclined deck when the rainstorm comes in the movie. The ceiling of this space also refers to the vault of the ballroom in the movie. The lamps on the vault are made of curved reflective metal. This design expects to diffuse the natural light from the vault into the entire interior space through the metal in this way.

ROOF DECK
The form of roof deck is a reference to the deck of a ship. The chimneys and railings can be seen from the deck, but they carry other functions in this building. The main entrance is set up on the deck, and people who want to get into the building need to ascend to the deck via a gangplank similiar to that on a ship. 10

STRUCTURE AND GANGPLANK
In this position, there's a balcony in the back. After coming out from the balcony, you can see the four concrete tubes stucking across the building and the structural arrangement of the building. At the end of the space is the performance room facing the sea. The scene of sea melting into the sky is shimmering between gangplank and structure, indicating the depth of space.

3
BATHROOM
The master bedroom on the ground level of the building receives natural light from two chimneys. In addition, 1900's bedroom opens to a meditation room and a bathroom, both of which also get natural light from the chimneys. 1900 can indulge himself in natural light when taknig a shower.
4
PERFORMANCE AND LIVING ROOM
After the gangplank, there is a slope in the building that corresponds to the terrain. Three platforms growing on the slope in line of the terrain are divided into three functional space according to spatial quality, from the inside to the outside, namely the living room, dining room, and the performance room. 11
AN URBAN MIRRORSCOPE - FOLK MUSEUM & MUSEUM of MODERN ART in QIANMEN AVENUE ———Design of Comprehensive Museum in Qianmen Avenue , Beijing , China
The project is located at the south end of Qianmen Avenue in Beijing, China. The south side of the site is the main road of Beijing and the south end of Qianmen Avenue. Qianmen Avenue is a very famous commercial street in Beijing. It is located on the central axis of the capital with a long history. Qianmen Avenue has been used as a commercial street since the Ming Dynasty, but with the development of Beijing city, it also bears more historical and cultural weight. As a result, the construction of a cultural and educational museum building that can reflect the urban fabric of Beijing has become the appeal of Beijing's urban development. As a prestigious commercial street, Qianmen Avenue has a variety of business types, from traditional Chinese tea merchants to modern Starbucks co-existing on the street, reflecting the diversity of street business culture. In recent years, many cultural projects have sprung up on Qianmen Avenue to meet the street's sense of history, but due to government control and mixed architectural style, it has not addressed the street's cultural needs. Due to the architectural style and cultural characteristics of Qianmen Avenue, buildings are expected to meet the needs of tourists and the street by creating a comprehensive museum containing traditional Chinese culture and modern art.

Roll the dice! Pomade!
Conesidering the cultural inclusiveness of Qianmen Avnenue, the initial design direction was set as occlusion of two function blocks. Besides, the building extracts the arch elements of Zhengyang gate at the north end of Qianmen Avenue and expresses them in the building facade and interior in a modern way. These facade arches are mirrorscope of the city because their scales are linked to those of existing buildings in Qianmen Avenue.

TIME & BUSINESS FORM AXIS
Two-way Circulation & Vertical Winding Stairs As for the interior space of the building, the building illustrates a two-way tour circulation, so there would be vertical traffic spaces inside each building block, which is represented in building by a spiral staircase attached to an oval patio. The circulation of visitors also revolves around the two patios. The structure of the building is a shear wall system with double deck reversed beams. The position of the beam moves in an arc according to the ellipse, generating shear wall and arch hole under it. In addition, the ground part of the shear wall and the position of arch hole is diffrent on each floor, which also provides more richness to the space.
Arch in Design In conclusion, arch is an important expression of this design. It is not only a reflection of the building facade to the urban street texture, but also a bridge to interconnect the space inside the building.

In this design, Moma represents the modern part of Qianmen Avenue, educating people to be innovative and look for new development direction for tradition.
The folk museum here mainly collects paintings, books, activities and sculptures related to Qianmen culture or Beijing culture. You can watch paintings and drink traditonal tea in the shadow of the arch, or interact intimately with opera actors and old Beijing vauffers. In the design, the folk museum represents the essence of Qianmen Avenue's history and culture, and inspires people to protect this historic street and the intangible cultural heritage.

CONTAINER of SHIBATI
——Design of Urban Complex in Shibati, Chongqing, China
Shibati connected the upper and lower half of old Chongqing. As the most prosperous street in old Chongqing, it has fallen behind the pace of urban development for a long time. This design intends to re-satisfy people's various demands for this area in the form of an urban complex by integrating the original functions of shibati and the surrounding urban functions. This building stands on the dilapidated shibati, hoping to play the role of this street in the past, connecting shibati with the prosperous new Chongqing, and recreating the prosperity of shibati in the past.

Site Introduction of Shibati
Shibati is an old street in Chongqing's Yuzhong Peninsula, symbolizing the true mountain city of old Chongqing. It is adjacent to the bustling Jiefangbei business district in the north, the Yangtze River in the south, and is surrounded by arterial roads. The commercial, cultural, and residential conditions around Shibati are very superior, which can be called the center of Chongqing. In the past, Chongqing was divided into upper and lower halves, and the eighteenth ladder was the way to connect the upper and lower halves. This street is rugged and steep along the mountain, with a large number of people inhabited. But now, Shibati can no longer keep up with the pace of Chongqing's development, and it has become an urban slum surrounded by high-rise buildings.

Scenes of Shibati
FUCTION INTEGRATION of SHIBATI
In the past Shibati, there were many scenes full of market culture. These scenes are the deepest memories in the hearts of the old Shibatu people, and they are of great significance to the local residents. By investigating the cultural and commercial scenes of Shibati and restoring them to this design, people can recall the appearance of Shibati.
Shop
This design analyzes the types of functions contained in the surrounding buildings of the site and the cultural scenes contained in the past Shibati, and classifies these functions. At the same time, this design also analyzes the types of missing functions in the block and the main functional needs of the people in the area, so that these functions can be solved in the building. The final design divides the space into three categories: public space, private space and additional space.

——Design of Space Station In The Age When The Earth is Wrapped in Space Junk
From the moment of drilling wood to make fire, mankind has begun the history of making garbage. For thousands of years, the garbage created by mankind has gradually become larger and more diverse, and finally space is full of garbage. The speed at which the earth disposes of trash is limited, while the speed at which humans create trash is infinite. It is assumed that after many years, the earth is filled with trash and is no longer suitable for survival, and humans have to enter space to live. This design is proposed for future humans a conceptual model of a space city, that is, the space station uses solar energy to achieve self-sufficiency by collecting raw materials in space junk, wandering between the stars and looking for the next destination.
26
THE INCREASING SPACE JUNK
1957
THE PROCESS of SPACE EXPLORATION
When mankind began to explore space in 1957, the first space junk was born. During the Cold War, the USSoviet competition for space hegemony even sent a large number of spacecraft to low-Earth orbit which later turned into space junk. After the 21st century, China, Japan and other countries have joined the queue to explo re the universe, and the orbit of the earth has gradually become crowded.

2040?
Since mankind entered the space in the 1950s, various countries have launched more than 4,000 space launch vehicles. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 9,000 space junk with a diameter greater than 10cm in space, and more than 100,000 with a volume greater than 1.2cf, and tiny particles such as paint flakes and solid propellant dust particles can count in the millions. These space junks fly extremely fast (6-7km/ sec), and they hide huge lethality. The most headache for scientists is the "avalanche effect"each collision of space junk will not annihilate each other, but will produce more debris. This is the new problem.

THE ESSENCE of HUMAN WASTE
Primitive Civilization
In ancient times, the ancients were able to carry out subjective production activities and produce garbage.
Slave Society
During the period of slavery society, people can organize production and construction, construction waste and production waste were increasing.
Industrial Society
During the period of slavery society, people can organize production and construction, construction waste and production waste were increasing.
Modern Civilized Society
In modern society, the amount of garbage produced by people is larger and there are more types.
Space Exploration Period
It can be expected that in the next few decades, mankind will send more space junk to earth orbit. 27
PREVENTION & CONTROL MEASURES for SPACE JUNK
Observation and Tracking
Nowadays, observing and tracking space junk through ground and space radars, and notifying space stations and satellites to avoid themselves is still the most common way to prevent and control space junk.
Aircraft Drag
It is also a mainstream method of space garbage removal to make the aircraft capture space junk , drag it into the atmosphere and burn it or drag it to a higher orbit.
Shield Protection
28
Nowadays, scentists can create a simple energy shield to withstand certain impacts. The application of this technology to the prevention and control of space junk is also very promising.
Laser Smash
The principle of laser removal of space junk is to irradiate the abandoned satellites and other space junk multiple times with lasers, and then change the orbit of these junk, let it fall into the earth's atmosphere, and finally burn it out in the atmosphere.
Magnetic Field
This idea uses an aircraft to arrange wires near the space junk, and then apply 1 ampere of current to the wires, which will interact with the earth’s magnetic field to generate thrust and send the junk into the atmosphere.
Junk Recyclement
M eta l e l e m e n ts i n s pa ce j u n k : go l d , titanium, tungsten, etc. are all very precious materials. By recycling and dismantling abandoned spacecraft , ne w space equipment can be produced.

Rule Over Machinery
The station's functional divisions are divided into human settlements, functional platforms and space factories. The control room is at the top of the station, with layers of human habitation below. The living area dominates the machinery in the form of chains. The sub-ships on the functional platform are responsible for operating the low-level space factory, providing living resources for human beings. There is a hierarchy of functions throughout the station, with humans operating the machinery. Machinery commands a lower level of machinery operation.
