My name is Dhaniel Hartono, a fresh graduate of architecture major at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. Architecture is something that is interesting for me to study and has become my passion. The connection between user behavior patterns, spatial exploration, and identity is the reason I want to pursue this field. For me, architecture is about treating people well in the long term and i’m ready to learn about new things. This portfolio captures several selected project that reflect my experience of several years in field of architecture.

Funeral Home The funeral home is the main building in this area. has a building footprint of 10,680 m2 with circulation and shape based on traditional Asian philosophy. The concept of the “cycle” of Asian life is the basis for horizontal and vertical circulation. The first floor is described as the process of death, the second floor as the human realm and the sky as the process of rebirth.

Two Important Room In the funeral home building there are two important rooms, namely the funeral room and the crematorium. The plan shape of the existing funeral room was maintained by positioning it on the second floor with the aim of separating the funeral room from the crematorium on the first floor. These two main rooms are connected by a 145 meter long tunnel. This tunnel is a form of journey for people towards a new life.

Heritage Area This area is designed to have an entertaining nature with the mission of maintaining the cultural values of the area. Likewise with the historical room which has an existing function as a place for traditional Chinese relics which are still cared for today.

Open Waiting Area The space is designed as a building opening while providing a natural experience for visitors by presenting the charm of open space and continuous voids from the ground floor to the roof.

Greenhouse Greenhouse are included in commercial areas functionally. This function is designed as a place to cultivate flowers which will later be bought and sold.

Open Columbarium Located at the peak point of the site, it depicts a sacred area and has a different hierarchy from other buildings. The open concept creates a more breathable and unified.

Final Project / 8

Culture is the image of a group of people, but it is not impossible that one day that image will shift. It is our obligation as a society to continue to maintain and preserve the traditions that have been passed down by our ancestors.

Digital Smart Living Location Area Year

: Duri, Jakarta Barat, Indonesia : 24.500 m2 : 2021

High population density will effect the quality of human life less comfortably, which is what happened in Kalianyar and Jembatan Besi sub-districts. Digital Smart Living aims to improve the quality of life for the community but also improve the environment to become more modern, healthy and high quality. Being located in an area that is an anchor for commuterline public transportation, this area has the potential to apply the TOD (Transit Oriented Development) concept by presenting a regional magnet that gives a modern impression with iconic regional characteristics.

Connections The connections owned by Digital Smart Living move in the core transit area. As the building closest to Duri Station, the sky bridge concept from the station goes directly to Building 1 on the second floor. In the sky bridge area there are two layers, the top layer is a lobby for visitors from the station and the bottom layer is a place for vehicle drop off. The vehicles in question are private vehicles and public transportation. An entertainment facility that covers all ages, this building presents a variety of educational content packaged in a modern way. The image of the area in the form of a “home convection area” is displayed through energetic media and is expected to help the market economically.

Retail Digital Smart Living, which functions as a commercial building, has a space program that supports each other. The ground floor is prioritized as a retail space where transaction activities are prioritized.

Entertaiment Floors 2, 3 and 4 are interactive learning spaces and a convection museum. A mini theater isv also available to accommodate activities such as seminars, performances, etc.

Architectural Design 3 / 18

Path The path in the Digital Smart Living area is divided into 3 parts. The 3 sections are pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle paths. This area uses a TOD system so that there are fewer vehicle paths than pedestrians and cyclists. The Digital Smart Living building mass was formed according to the location and interests of the site, which consists of two main building masses. The two masses are connected by a bridge.

03

PESISIR

Architectural Design 2 / 22

Pesisir Location Area Year

: Bali, Indonesia : 816 m2 : 2021

Pesisir is a vacation home for a family of four. The environmental conditions are on the coast which has a sunset view. However, the problem is during the day, and building materials must adapt to existing conditions. The mass composition of this building consists of one large composition. One block is divided into five parts whose elevation adapts to the site. The significant elevation difference makes the composition look composed. The most prominent thing is the stacked roof which is also the characteristic of this residence. The stacked roof not only provides an exterior experience but also an interior experience.

Architectural Design 2 / 23

Programming Based on the floor plan, you can see the division and transition of space from public to private. The deeper you go into the house, the more private the room becomes. Private and public spaces are separated by semi-public spaces in the form of a family room, dining room and kitchen.

Architectural Design 2 / 24

High ceilings are used to reduce the temperature in the room. The roof opening in the living room is a solution for exhausting air in the house so that it can reduce the room temperature. The use of wood material is also one of the purposes for absorbing excess heat.

Architectural Design 2 / 25

Material The combination of wood, brick walls and concrete creates a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. A comfortable space is increasingly conveyed by the use of warm light in the house.
