We’ve been in the eyewear industry since 1970. Throughout that experience, we’ve seen it all. We know which versatile shapes suit the most faces, which nose-pads and hinges will prove to be the most comfortable, and which trends have come, gone, and are returning. That allows us to design frames that appeal to a wide range of eclectic connoisseurs of eyewear.
Every frame and lens is processed in our lab in Long Island by board-certified Opticians to ensure the highest level of quality. We take our customers’ vision seriously. We don’t believe in outsourcing quality service - whether it’s our founder answering customers’ calls over the phone or picking and packing products, it stays in house.
Our frames are manufactured in audited factories. This means that labor standards in the factories that we use, whether it’s safe working conditions, overtime pay, or health insurance, are matched to Western standards. We believe happy people create the best possible products, so by us and our suppliers keeping our employees happy, we make you happy as well. We use only the highest quality materials. FRAMES
LENSES
Most of the zyl, or acetate, we use is sourced from Mazzuchelli - one of Italy’s oldest and most renowned acetate producers. In production, our zyl frames are polished several times to ensure a smooth finish. Our metal frames are “ion-plated”, which means that our metal frames are bonded with ions to protect their finish.
In our eyeglasses, we use polycarbonate lenses that include a superior scratch-coating which attracts less dust and smudges, 100% UVA and UVB protection, and anti-reflective coating. In our sunglasses, our superb polarized lenses protect your eyes from glare and harmful UVA and UVB rays and are coated with a superior scratch-coating that will last.

When I was about 15 years old, I told myself that if I ever joined my father’s business I would use his position in the eyewear business to help those who can’t help themselves. Dharma Eyewear was founded with one word in mind: “access”. I wanted to provide access to beautiful eyewear that doesn’t break the bank for people, young and old.
So here we are, with a showroom in Manhattan and a state-of-theart fulfillment center in Long Island, NY to help you see more clearly, fashionably, and without going broke. We partnered up with Optometry Giving Sight, a charity who helps provide global vision care, to help you provide access to the underprivileged with a few clicks of your mouse. Most importantly, high-quality prescription eyewear should be affordable.
Dharma exists to serve you. If we can provide you with amazing eyewear that gives you satisfaction day to day, I can sleep at night. When you buy eyewear from Dharma, together we are helping someone across the planet see and transform their lives.
