about me With an unparalled passion for movies and travel, I always wondered and excited to see new people, places & culture inside and outside movies. If you don’t find me immersed in a book or watching movies again and again, then you’ll probably find me searching new set of movies, interviews to watch on Chrome Or sleeping. Having been an inquistive soul, critical thinking has always been a big part of my DNA. Whether it was constructing a tent on the backyard during childhood or designing huge-scale projects during undergraduate, my mind was constantly looking at different ways to percieve and question the things. And that is my approach towards design and architecture even today.
Allusionist + Critical thinker + Inquistive soul //

PRESENCE OF THE DEAD Time and space are eternally locked into each other in the silent spaces between these immense columns; matter, space and time fuse into one singular elemental experience, the sense of being. They enable us to see and understand the passing of history, and to participate in time cycles that surpass individual life.

We have been tasked to study, analyse and formulate architectural program for regions around the vandiyur lake-front. We studied the regions under various factors such as Social interaction and environment; the perception and use of natural and built heritage; sense of belonging between man and open spaces; Patterns of movement Behaviour and Physical settings. After studying and analysing the lake-front, we have made certain objectives to make sure the co-existence of ecology and built environment in a phased manner. “Any existing, functioning urban area has structure and identity, even if only in weak measure...A frequent problem is the sensitive reshaping of an already existing environment: discovering and preserving its strong images, solving its perceptual difficulties, and, above all, drawing out the structure and identity latent in the confusion.” The Image of the City, Kevin Lynch (1960)
“During this project, we often visited the site and listened to its murmurs. Visited the streets one by one; nooks & corners of the lake. Listened to the people and thier likes & dislikes about public spaces and visual images. Also this projectmade me a good team leader.”
The Shaping //
Lake area was reduced compared to 1990s time. Some buildings were built in the TTC nagar and also Meenaskshi mission hospital was built.
Before MATTUTHAVANI was built, it was comepletely agricultural fields dominated by local people of Vandiyur and serves a local livelihood
2000-2012
1970-1970
Open space
2011-2022 More buildings in TTC nagar was built, the area of lake is being threatened and reduced every year. They are blocking the inlets
24
We have identified the open areas which are public in nature and searched the best architectural program suitable for this sites

Water pollution levels and Design intervention The pollution from various industrial, fertilizer and sewage waste was pushed into the cannals and tanks along the vandiyur inlets makes difficult for us the clean up and restore the lake ecology. That’s why we proposing a design intervention, a cleaning mechanism which was inspired from traditional chinese agriculture, in which organic fertilizers are absorbed by plants from water that runs from mountains through villages and to the paddies before going into ponds and rivers fown the hill.

03 INDUSTRIAL DESIGN TROPHY
03 INDUSTRIAL DESIGN TROPHY Non-Academic work | 2022 Group of Three
brief
Team Dhevan.C Revanth.A Navin Kumar.G Role Team coordinator + Documentation of the Processes Type Documentation + Product design Site Thirunelveli
Part 1. The students are open to selecting any crafts and materials that they think have the potential to be explored from a designer’s perspective. They are to understand the craft at a grassroot level. It is envisioned as a dialogue between the designer and the craftsmen. It is recommended that they spend some time with the community to understand their roots, their problems, their aspirations. These observations are to be expressed in any form or understanding that the students wish; poetry, art, literature, music, sketches, that represent the process would be welcome. Part 2. Based on their understanding the students are to culminate these experiences into tangible products. They are welcome to give suggestions of how these products could be sold in the market, their need for the current scenario and how these would help the craft community as a whole in the longer run.

Pattamadai and Pattu Pai
Its history, issuses and methods
33
Pattu Pai Making Process 01
a) Dyeing: For Dyeing both natural and chemical dyes are used. With chemical dyes a wide hue of colours a being incorporated in mat making. They can either be single coloured or combined in traditional red, green and black. A chemical dye does not require modants’s sometimes have multiple diverse uses. They can be used as colorant for cloth, paper, wool, mat, etc.
02 “The observations of these processes and various crafts often reveal the subtle nuances of the tools used in creating the objects; the imperfections that define the expression”
06
07
b) Isolation of Dye: The graded Korai grass is soaked in the isolated dyes so as to take colour. It is then dried in shade. The stick and the grass is held on the both sides by hand and is twisted to give uniform roundness and strength.

LOOM
The people native to pattamadai have themselves taught how to make a loom that works best for thier surroundings and to thier own anthropology of thier body. The materials required for the loom are locally acquired and made in nearby workshops. Depends upon the length and width of pattu pai, the loom length and breadth would change as well as the quality of korai grass, threads
“During Industrial trophy, we went to different places and met different people to realize that we were living in different realms; these pictures conveys our processes & places we have visited, and those somehow changed our views about crafts and craftsmen completely after these journeys”

04 OTHER SELECTED WORKS 2019-2020 Individual Subjects Building Materials and Construction Type Detailed Manual Drawings Mentors Prof. P.Vivek Prof. K.Asha
Manual drafting sheets are part of Building materials and construction subjects. Even though I have struggled during my first year to grasp the proper architectural representations, I eventually understood the nuances of manual drafting. And after that, I loved to draft the construction details with my own hands. We have documented doors, windows, small stone house and drafted said trusses, RCC slabs, lintels, Brick lintels, RCC columns and thier reinforcement details during 2019-2020. Here are some of my personal favourite manual drafted sheets, which showcases my passion as well as attention to details to the drawings with a personal touch. “God lies in perfection and we should seek perfection with as much passion as we seek god” Paths Uncharted, B.V.Doshi (2011) *All dimensions are in MM

Timber Joints
These joints are measured and documented from one particular door from Athangudi. Part of exercise combined from Rurals study and Building materials & Construction. The different details of the rails in the door and the joints, that the door have have been represented in this plate.
Timber Door
The entire door has been documented from Athangudi, Karaikudi. The plan, section, panel details, isometric view helped us to see the construction nuances of this door more clearly than an textbook image
Timber Truss
These are drafted King and queen post timber truss for a span of 6 m and 12 m respectively to a suitable scale( elevation). And added joinery details for both type of truss. Additional details at eaves for water drain is added.
Timber Windows
Selected types of windows are picked and detailed out to study the construction details.
RCC Slabs and Brick Lintels
Plan and cross-sections of one-way slab and twoway slab along with details of reinforcement has been added. RCC linted section and Reinforced brick lintel section has been drafted along side.
Timber Windows
Selected types of windows are picked and detailed out to study the construction details.
