Obituary
Willie Mae enjoyed taking trips with her husband, no matter how near or far. It was always "Willie Mae and Bud"; on their way to a baseball game, the horse races or down South. She never missed an opportunity to turn on some down home blues or Luther Vandross to dance to in her living room. Those were cherished moments because for years that was an "Invite Only" space in the home. She loved life - she never allowed her illness to be the plot to her story. She persevered through it all with strength and grace. When asked how she felt, she would answer "I have MS, it doesn't have me."
She enjoyed telling stories to her grandchildren about her life, her love of music, and how she dreamt of singing in Harlem. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She also took pride in having a beautiful home with an immaculate curb appeal. She worked for years to make her house a home and in that she succeeded.
