On June 27th Diamond Elite Magazine & Co. owner, Kandice Sherril, hosted the Apply the Pressure event in honor of the launch of the newest product of DEM & Co the Apply the Pressure Entrepreneur Toolbox. The toolbox is filled with tips, breakdowns, and facts for start-up entrepreneurs, and those who have been running a business, but may have become stuck.

The event was held at the Castle Heights Bijoux Event Center in Waco, TX and had dozens of people from the community out to gain knowledge, shop, eat and enjoy good vibes around likeminded people. Speakers included Christi Black Evans, Lakendra Dugas, and The Sassy Motivator, Farrah Ratliff.

The audience in attendance heard about the journey of veteran entrepreneurs and full transparency on how they have applied the pressure on their journey. “Make the job work for you…think of a job as on the job training, ” stated Christi, implying that if you want to be an entrepreneur and still work a 9-5 it’s OK, just make sure you’re learning skills and techniques that can be applied to your very own business.

Dugas came in with letting the audience know to pray over their business, and journey in life overall. The Sassy Motivator came in with emotions and a powerful speech of how she overcame loss with close loved ones, and while still grieving, to push through the storm.

Mattress The Story Holder, is a book of poems... short poetic stories of life. Just when you thought it was only you who knew your story... guess what, the mattress also knew and kept your most intimate, and secret journey's through out.

Your are my poetry, in the middle of the night the mattress has me waking up early, deep thoughts of you and I, when I felt as if I was suffocating, you reminded me… there's two ways to breathe, when I felt like I was drowning, you taught me how to hold my breath until I floated to safety, it was your love that has saved me, during the days the sky was grey and rainy, you reminded me it was only temporary, for grey doesn't exist in the color spectrum naturally, so this too shall pass, blue skies will always outlast, now I'm seeing a rainbow from end to end, and it's evident you are my pot of gold, my lover my poetry my friend, in the midst of all this brainstorming I must have shaken the mattress, because you leaned over half awakened, and said…"baby I love you are you ok", those seven words connected deeply and mentally, as I laid back down and commenced to hold you tightly.
