When Mo’Nique came out and initially stated what she felt about women in public wearing bonnets, she wasn’t wrong and not trying to steer anyone into an uproar about appearance. Although as an opinion, it is a particularly good analogy. She was stating that when you get out of bed, and get ready for the day, you should comb your hair, put on clothes and be the best you. When you look better, you feel better.

As individuals in business, you should always want to be presentable and be able to represent your brand, which in most cases you are the biggest part of your brand. Something as small as going to the convenience store, grocery store, or airport in your bonnet looks bad for business. It gives the notion of comfortable as well as lazy. Bonnets are meant to be a hair protector when sleeping.

Visualize this perspective, you’re a business owner and many know who you are, you should be at your best and feeling your best anytime you are in public. If you don’t care about presentation and how you represent your brand, do as you please.
