The Site

AlBnayyat – South Al-Bnayyat South

Site The site is located next to the Airport Road which is a Primary Spine of the Capital Region Amman. Airport road area is under enormous development pressure to accommodate new residential, recreational, exhibition, shopping and media + entertainment facilities by the HDMU The site is Close to multiple other universities such as: Al Zaytoona , Al Israa and MEU also Al Quds Collage.

Al Quds Collage The Site

Petra University

60% Of near by universities’ students live close to the site which is easily accessible whether from Airport Main Road or other local roads.

Al Zaytooneh University

MEU

Isra University

The site also is located next to Petra University that it takes only 4 minutes or less walk to approach the site

By choosing this site there’s a chance to revive this newly residential area in an organized way

This is a live example of when unplanned Growth of University Of Jordan area growth occurs , University of Jordan area is heavily crowded with an un organized students’ services , restaurants , not enough parking and bad public transportation ,so our site is under enormous planned development pressure and we need our project to participate with such area development. 1978 Proposed site getting crowded and random parking spots through daytime hours .

2017

Project’s Importance Students Of universities which are located in Airport road struggle with finding a decent, appropriate and Mainly a nearby place where they can practice social activities, invest their free time with sports, do homework , work ,read and study also a place where they will find essential services.

This Project will be designed to provide services to more than 3,000 students, the purpose of this urban node is to create a familiar, relaxed, playful atmosphere, in which the students can conduct their activities with a sense of unity. Determined to create a vibrant atmosphere, promoting cultural and social interaction, this multifunctional project offers various services in all areas such as Health, Social Support, Financial, Lodging, and Recreation, counting as full complement for Students

Main Goal: To Change the negative habits in university student life into positive and healthy behaviors , and kill the bad routine . To create an exciting Studying area , library and dividable meeting rooms with an iconic identity and an open, connected atmosphere.

Self Actualization Esteem Needs Social Needs Safety Needs Physiological Needs

Sustainable architecture The focus for the whole building is to create an exciting and high quality new typology of accommodation with an iconic identity and an open, connected and collegiate atmosphere.

The project also maximizes the use of outdoor space by exhausting relief air to condition balconies and terraces, improving user comfort during the hottest and coldest months.

Building Materials ETFE/PTFE

PERVIOUS CONCRETE

PERFORATED SHEET METAL

Pervious concrete (also called porous concrete, permeable concrete, no fines concrete and porous pavement) is a special type of concrete with a high porosity used for concrete flatwork applications that allows water from precipitation and other sources to pass directly through, thereby reducing the runoff from a site and allowing groundwater recharge.

Benefits

-Why ETFE/PTFE The use of Tensioned Membrane Structures provides the opportunity to design a beautiful form, with large uncluttered spans thus creating exceptional lighting characteristics often not achievable with conventional materials andsystems. -Natural Light Natural Light penetrating the fabric provides an ambience of great appeal to occupants and can support growth of specific plants. Daylight transmission is typically 9% - 18%, sufficient to eliminate or greatly reduce the need for artificial lighting, therefore, providing an energy efficient system. At night, with the use of up lighting, the fabric offers considerable benefit as a reflective background.

Pervious concrete is made using large aggregates with little to no fine aggregates. The concrete paste then coats the aggregates and allows water to pass through the concrete slab. Pervious concrete is traditionally used in parking areas, areas with light traffic, residential streets, pedestrian walkways, and greenhouses. It is an important application for sustainable construction and is one of many low impact development techniques used by builders to protect water quality.

The acoustic performance of perforated metal helps people or workers to limit health effects from noise. Studies have shown that perforated metals help reduce sound levels. Studies have shown that having buildings use perforated metal sheets in front of their faรงade can bring in one study 29% energy savings (HVAC + Lighting estimated consumption in 1 year) and in the second one 45% energy savings (heating, ventilation, air conditioning). Depending on the location of the building (intensity of the external sun), solar irradiation can be decrease by 77.9%.

Concept analysis

Concept : The layers of design inputs create a composition with a hierarchy of ‘one-to-many’ – single units are composed and manipulated through operations of shifts, trims and overlaps. The result is The Hub, micro city, which connects with Petra University and stretches in its own field. Flexible

Dynamic a hierarchy of one-tomany unfinished or, infinitively expandable

imaginative and invisible presence of areas and grids

Sustainable building features include a highperformance cladding system and triple glazing to ensure low energy consumption, resulting using a fraction of the energy of a conventional building. A high-performance solar roof produces energy and heat, as well as cooling.

Amman Twin Towers MIXED USE HIGH-RISES

Amman Twin Towers Mixed use high-rises

Amman Corridor by HDMU

Similar to the urban fabric of Amman, the high-rise complex commands a variety of public spaces for different needs and different levels of density...

redefine luxury to make it obtainable now for all people

Location

East of Amman , Al Sahaba neighborhood

Area c : southern gateway

Area C is already developing along the east side of Airport Road, south of Abdoun

As the Capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Amman is home to more than two million people, representing just under forty percent of the total population. Its rapid expansion in population and area over the past decade, however, has placed extraordinary new pressures on the city to plan and deliver municipal services

Traditionally, the buildings of Amman, Jordan ha d a unified human scale that primarily consisted of cubic buildings ranging from one to four stories in height. This scale is being greatly compromised as a result of the advent of the high-rise buildings. The city is currently experiencing rapid growth that is reshaping the ancient city into a commercial hub. New projects and proposals in and around the city include: the Abdali Downtown project; the construction of the Jordan Gate Towers near the6th Circle, which is nearly completed. The project consists of two high-rises that are connected by a multi-story podium, located on an elevated area in East of Amman , Al Sahaba neighborhood

Building height ceiling

Vertical zoning

Structure The structure is divided into three platforms ; the weight loads are distributed thought tall frames and complemented by a secondary structure

The Program Treatment takes time and commitment Patient Activity Areas Patient activity areas consist of living room/dayroom, dining, therapy, group and family meeting room spaces, a quiet room for retreating, and secure outdoor spaces. The key design priority in these areas is to create an inviting non-institutional environment without features that may facilitate assaults or self-harm. These areas are typically supervised by staff and consequently present less of a safety/security threat than patient bedrooms, bathrooms and other areas where a patient may be left unsupervised for a period of time. Criteria to maintain patient safety in these areas
