Wine Pre-Ordering Guidelines
We will be accepting pre-orders for “Drink It Tonight” wine for L’Esprit du Vin on Wednesday, November 14th from 9am to 9pm only!
1. Review the Wine Auction Catalog and choose your preferred wine for “Drink it Tonight” from a wide variety of bottles! All bottles/lots are available to purchase as “Drink it Tonight”. 2. An email with a link to the pre-order team will be sent to you at 9 am on Wednesday, November 14. Click on the link to pre-order between 9 am and 9 pm on Wednesday, November 14th . a. Include the lot name and number and a contact phone number in case we need to reach you. b. Bring your credit card to L’Esprit du Vin; all purchases will be charged at that time. (Note: “Drink it Tonight” wine is purchased at 150% of value) 3. Receive a confirmation email – this means that your order is complete and your wine will be waiting for you (labeled with your name) and ready to drink at the “Drink it Tonight” bar! If you pre-ordered white wine or champagne, your bottle will be chilled. 4. Pre-orders are taken on a first come, first serve basis…you will be notified if your selection is sold out! ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
Wine Auction Guidelines Registration and Check Out: 1. At Registration: You will be asked to pre-swipe your credit card. (All major credit cards are accepted). Your credit card will be charged only if you pre-ordered wine and/or make purchases the night of the event. Your credit card will be charged the week after the event and an acknowledgement will be mailed to you. 2. Item Pick-Up: All merchandise purchased at the auction should be picked up from the auction tables prior to leaving the event. No receipt is necessary to take your items, provided you have pre-swiped your credit card at registration. If you have not pre-swiped your credit card, you will need to stop by check out to arrange for payment before taking your items. Boxes for each item will be marked and stored under the auction tables. How the Wine Auction Works: 1. Opening bid and minimum raise increments shown on the bid sheets must be adhered to. 2. Bidder must write his or her name, bid number and bid amount on the first available line on the bid sheet. 3. All wine is available for “Drink it Tonight”. 4. Purchasing “Drink It Tonight” wines is as easy as 1-2-3: 1. Pre-swipe your credit card at registration. 2. Select your wine and complete the “Drink It Tonight” section on top of Bid Sheet. (Note: “Drink It Tonight” wine is purchased at 150% of value) 3. Bring your wine to the “Drink It Tonight” Bar along with the top copy of the bid sheet, and ask your bartender to open and pour (and he will store and/or chill). 5. For wines not purchased for “Drink it Tonight”, the highest bidder at the time the Auction Tables close will win the item. 6. If the highest bidder number is illegible, the item will be awarded to the next highest bidder. 7. Your bid number, bid amount and signature on a bid sheet constitute a legal contract to buy the item. ALL Auction Tables Close at 9:30 p.m. General: All items purchased must be claimed, paid for in full and removed by the close of the Auction. 1. All sales are final. Items cannot be exchanged or returned. 2. Values of items are the donors’ estimates and are not warranted by the Sacred Heart Schools Auction Committee for tax purposes or general use. 3. Neither the Auction Committee nor Sacred Heart Schools can guarantee any of the purchases you make at the Auction.

This lot is a gorgeous set of limited release Sonoma Coast Chardonnays from Aubert Vineyards in three consecutive vintages. The Aubert Reuling 2008: Purchase this 99 point Chardonnay. Made from a suitcase clone from Montrachet, Burgundy’s most famous vineyard, this wine provides staggering levels of minerality and depth of flavor, aromas of crushed rocks, damp soil, honeysuckle, brioche, lemon oil, orange marmalade and buttered citrus. Full-bodied with great intensity, good acidity and stunning perfume as well as length, and drinking well through 2019, this Chardonnay is at the top of California’s hierarchy. 99 pts. WA, 97 pts. WS. Sonoma Coast, California. The Aubert Ritchie 2009: Precise and articulate, the aromas and flavors are all beautifully sculpted from start to finish in this very limited release chardonnay. One Bottle Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf-du-Pape “La Crau” 2010 1.5L Value: $180 One cannot think of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the most celebrated crau of the Southern Rhône, without thinking of Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe. This wine is coated with unctuous linzer torte, warm plum sauce and pure cassis fruit flavors, while notes of maduro tobacco, mint, green fig and toasted anise flitter throughout. This is lush and dense, but well-harnessed through the finish, with a mouthwatering roasted apple wood note and lingering fresh acidity. Best from 2014 through 2030. 96 pts. WS. France. Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Lot 1 Value: $60 Educated Guess: Surprisingly rich and complex, this Napa Valley Cabernet focuses on a fruit-forward palate. It has some structure, however, and it finishes nicely with hints of chocolate that go on for a while. The Blackstone Winemaker Select wines: sourced from 100 California vineyards, are fruit-forward, smooth, and harmonious perfect complement to any meal. Coyote Creek: Also from Napa, is rich, ripe and focused with juicy blackberry and cherry fruit, cocoa and hints of mint all tied together with a creamy French vanilla middle and a finish that in a word is...lingering. 89 pts. WE. Seven Oaks: From the Central Coast, is red-purple in color with a bright hue at release. Ripe fruit aromas of black plum, blueberry and cherry are mixed into a bouquet of roasted hazelnut, vanilla and coconut from a year in barrel. One Bottle Palladian Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Value: $30 Polished and refined. Tightly wound at first, gains depth and richness as it opens. Bright nose of cherry and black currants encircled by a hint of cigar-box cedar. Some delicate floral notes of violets from the cabernet franc influence. Cabernet Sauvignon California Regional Survey Value: $31 The 2008 Napa Valley Estrella: The nose has a distinct dark cherry aroma, but not overly intense. The body is rich in character, slight oak hints quickly fade as soon as they appear, followed by subtle tannin highlights. All-around well balanced fruit with smooth texture. The non-vintage Santa Rita Barrelhouse Cab: Small lots, noted for their ripe dark berry flavors and mocha-tinged tannins, make this an interesting full bodied Cabernet to try. The 2004 Rodney Strong: Aromas of blackberry, cocoa and cedar lead to a rich, layered flavor, replete with black cherry, vanilla and cassis, and structured with lush, mature tannins.
