Join Summer at Sacred Heart to experience a variety of academic, recreational, athletic, and fine arts programs. Customize your day by attending one of our day camps, any of our specialized programs, or both! Activities range from Arts and Crafts to Science Wizardry, making Summer at Sacred Heart a place for every child. Campers, ages 3-15, will meet new friends and create memories to last a lifetime. She is a second grade teacher at Sacred Heart and has directed Sacred Heart Summer Programs for 13 years. Jill looks forward to another year directing Summer at Sacred Heart and a fabulous fun-filled summer! OUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF is committed to making sure your camper receives a positive camp experience and a summer full of fun. Our well trained, experienced staff is ready to share their expertise and knowledge while working with your child. Summer at Sacred Heart takes pride in our low camper-to-teacher ratio and specialized instruction. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Summer at Sacred Heart is located at 6250 N. Sheridan Road, right across the street from beautiful Lake Michigan. Our grounds and facilities include a gym, art rooms, music rooms, computer labs, classrooms, kitchens, and assembly areas. The completion of our new multi-million dollar building addition comes just in time for camp! With terrific views of the lake, a rooftop playground, a library, and many multi-purpose rooms, our campers will be able to take advantage of the latest technologies, not to mention some cool A.C! We offer easy drop-off and pick-up. Our friendly staff will be waiting for you with a smile!

Campers will work on fitness, stretching, and muscle building activities while focusing on healthy-eating habits, snacks, and nutrition. Campers will also learn the rules and fundamentals of various sports. Campers should wear gym shoes and clothing conducive to exercising and movement. Campers should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a healthy PEANUT-FREE snack. If you love Cardio-Kids but wished the day lasted longer, campers may join the Skyline Scouts for a week- long afternoon of beach time fun! Swimming Lessons Entering Grades 1-4 BEGINNER 10:30 - 11:30 Session 2: June 28-July 2 Session 3: July 6-9 *holiday, no camp July 5th INTERMEDIATE 10:30 - 11:30 Session 4: July 12-16 Session 5: July 19-23 $150.00 per session Instructor: Mark Anderson Campers will learn the basics of water safety and swimming strokes at the Edgewater Athletic and Swim Club across the street. Proper body position, crawl, crawl with breathing, and the backstroke will be covered. There are no requirements for the beginning classes. Campers in the intermediate classes should be able to swim about 15 feet. Campers must bring swimsuit and towel and all campers will meet in the Camp Office before departing.

Summer at Sacred Heart is seeking, creative, energetic, organized, fun-loving individuals to possibly be a counselor in the future! The C.I.T. program provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in working with children of various ages. Counselors in Training will be supervised by our staff while receiving tips and strategies in working with children and age-appropriate activities. They will also be given the opportunities to teach songs and games and help generate ideas for upcoming lessons. CITs will need to fill out a Counselor in Training application and schedule an interview with Jill Renn at jill.renn@shschicago.org before being admitted to this program.
The Overnight Entering grades K-5 (previous sleepover experience recommended) Friday, July 23-24 6:00 p.m.-9:00 a.m. $65.00 ($100 camper & 1 sibling) Instructor: Jill Renn Have fun before Summer at Sacred Heart comes to an end! Spend time with old and new friends in an evening to remember! Campers will be sleeping under the stars on the rooftop playground, weather permitting, having a cook out, and roasting ‘smores. Breakfast is provided the next morning and campers should bring a labeled pillow, sleeping bag, and pajamas.

Policies
Registration deadline April 16th, $50 late fee
Payment Policies • Upon receipt, a confirmation of your registration will be mailed confirming enrollment. • A $50.00 per week non-refundable CAMP DEPOSIT is required (this will be applied to camp fees). • A $50.00 per week non-refundable COURSE DEPOSIT is required (this will be applied to class fees). • Payments accepted by check to SUMMER AT SACRED HEART, or by Visa or MasterCard. • You will be billed for the balance, which is due 10 days prior to the first day of YOUR SELECTED CAMP/COURSE. • A $5.00 processing fee will be assessed for each schedule changed after receipt of your registration.
Cancellations • We reserve the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment. • The Director reserves the right to require the withdrawal of any student whose conduct is unsatisfactory or who appears unlikely to benefit from the program. If the director makes this decision, a refund will be given for the remaining portion of the class fees. • We reserve the right to make staffing changes as necessary.
Refund/Absence Policies • A full refund will be given, less the $50.00 deposit, on cancellations received 5 days prior to the first day of the CAMP/COURSE selected. • Cancellations made fewer than 5 days prior to the first day of the program will receive a 50% refund of remaining fees after the $50.00 forfeited deposit. • No refund can be given after the scheduled program/ session begins. • There will be no refunds or make-up days for absences or closing due to weather/power emergencies.
Confirmation Policy students may assume they are enrolled in a designated class unless otherwise notified.
Dismissal Policy Students will be released only to persons authorized by the parents. If there are any changes, we require a written note specifying the person permitted to pick up your child.
Behavior Policy Sacred Heart Schools recognize the development of character as a fundamental goal in education. Discipline at the Schools is rooted in the values inherent in the Goals and Criteria. All students who attend summer camp at Sacred Heart schools are required to abide by all the rules, policies and procedures that are outlined in the current Parent-Student Handbook. The Camp Director and Head of Schools will enforce the discipline policy of the schools as deemed appropriate, including, when necessary, suspension and expulsion from the summer program.

The Extended Day Program includes games, activities galore or a place to sit back, relax and enjoy the summer sun. Afternoon snacks provided.
NOTE:
Drop-ins accepted only as space permits. $10.00/hour. Fees must be paid each Friday of the program.
LATE FEE: A late fee of $10.00 per 15 minutes will be charged for each child not picked up by 6:00 p.m. and will be due on the day lateness occurs. Habitual tardiness will result in the child’s exclusion from the Extended Day program at the Director’s discretion.
