A four-lane road cutting the woods, linking Rome to its seashore. An undefined arrival. A meeting between the horizontal limit and the big line which happens at the corner of the urban system, reconciling it with the human scale .

At a smaller scale, an attempt to create a dialogue between Art and Science’s world by balancing and measuring their relationship. The solid, permanent fortress of the art museum facing the sea and the light and dynamic structure of the botanical center. The clash here never happens. They meet only through a promenade’s ligament.

Then the ligament becomes a path to the last stage. Facing the forest and Rome, again.

Applying “BIMBY (Build In My Backyard) strategy” in suburban housing contexts could be an innovative solution for urban sprawl. By exploiting the arrival of the new tramway line, we develop a process to rebalance the private-public relation.

Narrative: the conquest . The Chinese government’s Yellow River Arctic Station in Ny-Ålesund was just the beginning for China Export alliance to plan and built one of the most important preservation colonies: the Tulou-Dam project. At mid of the century, when the sea water rise became an evident reality, and the South China Sea artificial island strategy collapsed, a backup plan was already guaranteed. Violent climate change nature behaviors pushed thousands of people to move in the new safe enclave.

2120. housing ring The Chinese government’s Yellow River Arctic Station in Ny-Ålesund was just < 300 yrs the beginning for China Export alliance to plan and built one of the most important preservation colonies: the Tulou-Dam project. At mid of the century, when the sea water rise became an evident reality, and the South China Sea artificial island strategy collapsed, a backup plan was already guaranteed. Violent climate change nature behaviors < 200 yrs to move in pushed thousands of people T-D, the new safe enclave. Nowadays the original settlement is frozen in time, empty, while the third public gap generation of its inhabitants looks at it from their new glazed homes, counting one by one all the tourists that get out of the cruises every other day. The 2020TD prefab module patented years ago is still reliable and is still been put in place year after year to face the < 100 yrs rising of the ocean level. While technology triumphs inside the outer skin of T-D, where fast transportation, production, and desalinization take most of the space, the inner skin is colonized by housing units. Despite being a theoretically democratic colony, the housing market has taken over and pushes people up and down around the ring as a consequence of the rental’s price oscillation.

The reflecting quality of the column engages with the surrounding context through the act of multiplying: with a static but active attitude, the object stresses the conditions which reflects: either the emptiness and absence of political commitment will be amplified or civic engagement multiplied and supported.

Does a worldwide accepted definition of “hospitable” place truly exists? The outcome, an entirely handmade cardboard collage, deliberately provokes the spectator. The biunivocacy of understanding shows that everyone interprets the sign on the basis of what is more used to recognize.

Hospitality is a path.
The grey represents a trajectory set in a private space defined by walls whose windows are too small and high to offer escape routes . On the other side, an urban public space. Limited only graphically and not physically. The path to the bed is more tortuous, but rich in varied experiences. The context comes alive and the section lines become streets teeming with life. 2017 | Fredericia - Denmark EASA European Architecture Students Assembly 2017 theme: HOSPITALITY Tutors (Cyprus) Arch.
