In 1939, Italian immigrants Danny & Joe Di Bruno opened a small grocery store in South Philly. Inspired by a return trip to Europe, they reinvented their store as “the House of Cheese”, with a focus on fine charcuterie and hard-to-find cheese. Thousands of customers later, the brothers decided to hang up their monger’s coats, proudly handing the keys to three equally devoted grandsons.
