U P McPHERSON HIGH SCHOOL McPHERSON, KANSAS
nq{ TODAY - - goodbye to the beloved and familiar building that long has housed M.H.S. With the passing years, it gained traditions and mellowness . and the love and respect of the thousands of students who
We say
walked its halls and whose memories still Iinger at old M.H.S.
TOMORROW - - the memories of yesterdaypave the paths for tomorOnly row. With these sentimental thoughts in mind we salute the past -- we hail thefuture. New traditionswill beestablished and new loyalties will be buiit by the thousands of oncoming sthdents who will learn to love the new high school as we have the old!

As seniors, this year was, andalways will be, the ti::-= ,: --: --'=. : .:;--t:., that there was a time to study, a time to determine right ir:::: -..,:,:-: :r-- : t**-: to discover that we were slowly preparing to advance into the-.''.--:-: :: .------ :- . ". graduates. In our four years at M.H.S. we have done a iittle oi ;.;=:-.-::---=:-:--; danced, Iugged a football, bounced a basketball, cleared hurdles, si;,*i_i :::1-=::
parredthe course, received scholastic honors, and even looked glamorous -:; --'-:some when the occasion demanded. To football and basketballwe gave our sirei::t:-. skill, and support-win or lose we were always there for the next game. Unforgettable, too, are memories of those final exams which, when completecl, gave us the right to wear royal blue caps and gowns with red and white tassels. As the class of 1963 marched solemnly down the isle at graduation time, our minds flashed back to our days as freshmen 'when we watched the graduating class of 1960 march to "Pomp and Circumstance". At that time our graduation seemed far off; something thatwould neverbecome a reality. Now as seniors we face ourgraduation with mixed emotions; to some it is a time of freedom from books, discipline in school, and the end of that monotonous day in class; to others it means the parting of friends, the end of a protected life and the beginning of new adventures. The beginning was fall of 1959; it is novr spring of 1963 as we become the last class to graduate from our old M.H.S. somehow the total of these months produced memories we will cherish always. No matterhowexcitingor tragic these memories may seem, the day will come when the class of 1963 can fondly say "Yes, we remember M.H.S.!"
