Baseball
The powerful Neshaminy High School Baseball Team rolled to a Section One title by defeating Woodrow Wilson in the championship playoff. Guided by Head Coach Fred Gerst and assistants Pete Cordelli and Joe Greytok, the Redskins utilized great team balance, whi le sporting a 9-3 league record (10-4, overall). The leading hitters were senior Denny Auckland and juniors M ark Karsch and Bob Cassidy. Auckland and Cassidy supplied the power with five homers each, while Cassidy led the club with thirteen runs-batted-in. T he infield of McHale, Cassidy, Bahr, and Auckland excelled on defense. Workhorse of the pitching staff this year was John DiPietra. Bill Kaminski and Russ Gilmore also turned in fine mound performances, while Ed Balderston saved several games with clutch relief pitching.

T he Ncshaminy nctmcn of 1965, coached by Mr. Andrew Pccuch , finished the season commendably in second-place in Lower Bucks with a 6-2 record . Both losses were at the hands of an o verpowering Pen nsbury sq uad. One special highlight o f the season was the extraleague competitio n of doubles team Wayne Osbo urn , a seni or , and Dick Powell, a freshman, who captured the Lower Bucks do ubles champio nshi p. T he pair was finally eliminated from the state-wide tourn am ent by the eventual champions, who took their second co nsecuti ve state title. Aren't I graceful'!

The 1965 t rack squad compiled an excelle nt 10- 1 overa ll record during its spring season. In league competition, Ncshaminy's sole loss was to T ennent, a pere nnial threat. L ead ing th e team to its fine secondplace fin ish in Lowe r Bucks were Coach Vince H erma nson ru1d Assistants Robert H art a nd Robe rt Parsons.
