Most pre-season predictions made by sports writers were that Minot would repeat a s conference champions with E llen dale pushing them hard for the crown. A s it turned out though, Minot finished second to a surprising Mayville team which ended the regular seaso n undefeated. Our S a v a g e s tied with Valley City for third p lace with a 10-6 record. When Bud Perry broke h is le g in the second game of the seaso n , Coach Wienbergen lo st one of h is starting forwards. The S a v a g e s lo s e only two men by graduation. They are Captain L o u is Oldenburg and Larry "Hook” Otterson. Even with th is lo s s through graduation, the S av ag e s can be expected to field a strong team next se a so n if the other lettermen return.

The Junior V arsity was coached by LeR oy "P u d g e” Beaudoin. "P u d g e ” w as captain of la s t y e ar’ s Varsity Team. He w as not e ligib le for varsity participation this year. However, he did not let h is basketb all ability go to w aste. Under h is guidance the Ja y v e e s won 11 gam es and lo s t 9 gam es. C oach Harry J .
