He received his B.A. and M .A . fro m th e U n iv e rs ity o f M in n e s o ta and his Ph.D. fro m th e U n iv e rs ity o f N o rth D a k o ta . He has done a d d itio n a l g ra d u a te s tu d y a t th e U n iv e rs ity o f C hica go , th e U n iv e rs ity o f H e id e lb e rg , and the School o f Econom ics, M a n n h e im , G erm any. Dr. Selke is c h a irm a n o f the Social Science D ivisio n and was a m em be r o f th e A d m in is tra tiv e C o u n cil a t th e co lle ge fo r m a n y years. D u rin g th is past ye a r he has served on th e C u rric u lu m C o u n c il. He has been a c tiv e in m a n y o f th e cam pus o rg a n iz a tio n s a nd co lle ge c o m m itte e s. D r. C ha rle s E. S cott is a n a tiv e o f M is s o u ri. He cam e to N o rth D a k o ta in 1922 to head th e D e p a rtm e n t o f Edu足 c a tio n a t th e D ic k in s o n N o rm a l School. He w e n t to M in o t N o rm a l School to be D ire c to r o f T ra in in g in 1927. On A u g u s t 1 ,19 39 , he was a p p o in te d p resident o f th e c o lle g e a t D ickin so n . T h e W a h pe ton -S a vag e gam e was th e fir s t con­ fe re nce hom e gam e. P reviously, th e Savages had pla yed a t Ja m e stow n , w in n in g 7 -6 . T h e y also won a n o n -co n fe re n ce hom e gam e a g a in s t th e R ocky M o u n ­ ta in Bears. In th e Savages' n e x t-to -th e -la s t gam e o f th e sea­ son, th e y lost to M a y v ille State T eachers C ollege by a score o f 3 0 -1 9 .
