MonoPix MonoPix is an international monthly magazine for photographers around the world who like to see there work being published. There are so many photographers among us who doesn’t get that chance. Well, MonoPix gives them a chance. Our publications presents the portfolios of amazing photographers. Portraits, street, scapes, or macro photography: each edition of Monopix has a general theme which can include a wide variety of photos. MARJAN POLLEY Belgium marbexexploringphotograpy.jimdo.com Photography is my real passion! I’m living in Antwerp, Belgium. I’m working in a fashion store and I’m a nailstylist in my own company. All my free time goes to taking pictures. In 2012 I bought my first semiprofessional camera and started taking pictures of landscapes, flora and fauna, animals, long exposures and evening photography. Since 2013 I’ve been bitten by the “urbex virus”, exploring and photographing abandoned, decayed and empty buildings. Spending many hours on my computer doing research to find those locations, riding in my car looking around that’s a part of urban exploring. It is so exciting to come somewhere and be amazed at how beautiful it can be sometimes. It continues to fascinate me so much. From then on, I never leave behind my camera.

MAIKEL CLAASSEN The Netherlands facebook.com/mclaassenfotografie I was born in 1981 in Helmond, the Netherlands. My interest in photography started in 2011, when I visited Bali. I always was a big fan of traveling and discovering new places. My first goal was to capture my journeys by camera as a memory in the most beautiful way possible. The scenery of Alaska and Iceland inspired me so much, that I wanted to capture the purity of this wonderful nature. From that time on my heart belongs to landscape photography. Discovering the world with nothing more than my camera bag is the best thing in life for me!

On the other side, I like to go on adventures that brings me to places with some mysteries. Like an abandoned mansion, factory or even a car cemetery. It intrigues me what has happened at these locations. I’m always surprised what people leave behind. As if they left the place in a hurry, not knowing that they are not returning and could come back anytime. I hope I can inspire people with my photography and that they enjoy my pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

DANIEL ANHUT Germany daniel-anhut.de My passion for photography was awakened in my youth by a present from my father – my first camera. I always had it with me whether while travelling or on family festivities. For a long time I mostly took snapshots to picture the circumstances. Only in recent years I increasingly appreciated the photography as a creative medium and something to tell stories with. No matter if the story is created by me or was written by life. It is always a pleasure to capture something beautiful before it disappears. Since then I am on an exciting journey which changed my life and my perspective on it perceptible. I started this journey with city scenes, street photography and architectural pictures in Berlin. A bit later “Lost Places” captured me. The atmosphere in those abandoned places is impressing. About a year now I engage myself also in portrait photography. The combination of both genres allows me to create a whole new atmosphere at abandoned places. Preferably I like to work with less equipment. Instead I use the available conditions to create a harmonious atmosphere. Especially the play between light and shadows is important to me. It is my goal to create pictures which evoke emotions and thoughts. It is not about big effects. I love the small and quiet details which prompt you to look at a picture more than once and still get an emotional reaction. Because of this I am working mostly in black and white to bring forth the clarity and the quietness in the pictures. Due to this reduction it is possible to get the focus on emotions, light and details. My journey goes on...
