As part of the commitment assumed by the Municipality of LanĂşs with road safety and with the conductive actions to avoid loss of life, the Secretary of Safety and Sustainable Mobility recommends taking a series of preventive measures before going on the road on vacation.
With the aim of raising awareness and avoiding accidents on the route, the Municipality of LanĂşs intensifies its road safety education campaign with a series of recommendations to have the vehicle in condition at the time of going out on the road to take a well-deserved vacation. Before going out on the road, it is important that we check the brake fluid (always checking that it is level), that we have the cricket and the key cross, that the bonnet works correctly, we must maintain the hydraulic fluid level, control the air pressure of the tires and control the hand brake.

Also, we must check the status of the glass cleaners, the oil level, that all the lights (the position, the high, the low, the turn, the stop and the beacon) work properly, that the indicators of the board work correctly, we have the signaling elements and always have water in the radiator reservoir.

In the same line, we must control that they work correctly in all the safety belts (that is, they do not have elements such as crumbs or other objects that impede their operation in the event of an accident). In relation to the seat belts, it is important that they are in good condition in all the seats of the vehicle. Children should travel with their belts always adjusted.

The driver should try to rest well before leaving, not driving if he is under the influence of alcohol or if he is taking medication that makes him sleepy. It is also not advisable to eat abundantly and avoid driving at high speeds. In the same way, it is necessary to observe the distance between the vehicles according to the state of the pavement.

The best compliance with the laws on road safety has to do with the way in which the State applies them, always trying to have fewer victims and less injured. It is important to change the culture of how we behave in road traffic.

The driver must be aware of his responsibility when he is in command of a vehicle and must assume a personal commitment in the construction of road safety. Being a driver implies, as well as being a citizen, to assume a series of obligations as a counterpart to the responsible exercise of our rights.
