Lizzy Bapela Bela-Bela’s Raeleng Secondary School promised great improvement and better results this year, following the school’s poor performance in 2013. Students of the 2014 Grade 12 Class and their principal Joseph Mashishi said this during several
back to school campaigns at the school and visits by The BEAT recently. Limpopo Health MEC Dipuo LetsatsiDuba and Waterberg District Executive Mayor Tlotlanang Mogotlane visited the school in one campaign, accompanied by officials and managers of the local and district municipalities and sector departments. These include local
circuit manager Makoma Phatudi, district senior manager of Education Julia Madela and former Limpopo Economic Development and Tourism (LEDET) MEC Pinkie Kekana. Mashishi addressed the delegation about challenges faced by the school including misbehaving, uncooperative and absent students and teachers, poor performance and resistance to
working hard. It was also learnt then that three teachers smelled of alcohol while the MEC was there and allegedly had the tendency of coming to school under the influence of alcohol. One of the teachers has reportedly produced fraudulent marks after being absent from school for a long period...
