Photo: TK Mashaba TK Mashaba The body of an unknown woman was found in a farrow near Modderspruit Primary School on Tuesday, 4 August at around 10:00. The body was concealed in the veld beside the Alma road next to Marulane Game Lodge. Bela-Bela SAPS Communications Officer,
Constable Maria Maleto, requests that the community report any missing persons at the station, as that might assist them in discovering the identity of the deceased. She said that since the woman’s cause of death was not yet known, there will be an investigation to determine what happened to her. “It is sad to have cases such as these, especially during Women’s Month,” she
said. The body was found by two men who were on their way to fetch water from the school. According to the men, they smelled something foul and went to investigate. They found the body of the woman in the veld. She was naked except for a bra, and appeared to have been there for some time. They raised the alarm and the school’s
principal, Zanele Ledwaba phoned the police. A case has been opened and investigations are continuing. Ledwaba said that it was one of the most disturbing sights she had ever seen. “Society has been in a strange mindset recently,” she said. “I hope that the people who do such things, will be brought to justice.”
