Website & Digital Edition Metric Definitions
7 KEY METRICS FOR WEBSITES/DIGITAL EDITION Page Views The number of times a visitor looks at any page on the website.
Visits This number reflects the total amount of users that came to the site. Example: John Doe goes to the website. This is counted as 1 visit. John Doe returns to the site a week later, this is another visit and would be counted as 2 total visits.
New Visitors New Visitors are coming to the site for the first time. Note: In some cases, the individual may have already visited the site but had cleared its cookies since the last visit.
Returning Visitors Returning visitors have already visited the site & are returning.
Pages Per Visit The number of pages that a user goes to during one visit to the website.

Newsletter/Email Metric Definitions
7 KEY METRICS FOR NEWSLETTER/EMAIL Opens The number of unique users that opened the email.
Open Rate Percentage of emails opened out of total sent. This is usually the number that we will want to use, the percentage rather than the actual number.

Bounced Number of emails that could not be delivered.
Pages Per Visit The number of pages that a user goes to during one visit to the website.
Total Times Opened This number will be higher than the opens as it isn’t a unique count just a total of all users opens.
Total Clicks This number will be higher than the clicks as it isn’t a unique count just a total of all users clicks.
Ad Rotation Explination The majority of the ads on our websites will rotate evenly within the space or spaces that are defined. Example: Ad A,B & C are created and go live today. Assuming that all 3 ads are showing in the same space(s) with the same priority, after 30 days all 3 ads should have an almost equal number of impressions.
Impressions will be effected by some variables. 1. The number of ads rotating with it in a space. 2. The number of pages it is shown on. 3. The overall website pageviews.
