TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION: Paradoxes of yesterday and today present: CAPITALISM NEVER HAPPENED. Destroy money to earn money. This project of art "entrepreneurship” for which the dollar is chosen as symbol of the current economic system, shows the creation of a management system of capital gains (the work of destruction of money) to permit a new paradox: the duplication of capital at the time of its destruction. With each dollar we get a positive and a negative. With the sale of the finished work (made of one dollar bills) the next work, made of two dollar bills, will be funded and so on until the $ 100 bill, when the project will be finished with an income of € 7840. In 2007 I visited the Prague Biennale and there I discovered the work of the romanian artist Ciprian Muresan entitled "Communism Never Happened. " Automatically I thought: CAPITALISM NEVER HAPPENED. Young people grown in countries of different geopolitical orbits, as the communist and capitalist political systems, reflect about human ecosystems that perverted, produce paradoxes of yesterday and today as the current crisis. Maybe a "reset" after a period of "perversion of the system" (school of regulation (1).

I.P.A. (BASIS TO CALCULATE AN INDEX OF ARTISTIC PRECARIOUSNESS) | Spreadsheet | 93 D.D. The I.P.A. (Index of artistic precariousness) is an indicator created to positioning contemporary art practices in the current socioeconomic environment. It shows that most of the emerging creators do our work below the threshold of poverty. The money we earn per hour is 93% lower than other professionals in their early career. The I.P.A. "calculator" was presented on Friday 14/05/2010 at OFF LIMITS (MADRID) as part of the exhibition called BUDGET € 6: ARTISTIC PRACTICES AND PRECARIOUSNESS curated by Cabello-Carceller.

Last holidays I was walking on the beach thinking about "human ecosystems" in which contemporary world is developed (capitalist system) and combining concepts such as the accumulation (Marx's Capital) and "Regulation Theory (school French regulation)" with the progressive entry of our businesses and our artists in the called “fourth sector”, when my daughter Andrea surprised me filling her bucket with sand again and again. W5/// Fermín Díez de Ulzurrun. W5/ who, when, where, what, why? Los cinco porqués son una herramienta de gestión usada para la resolución de problemas, se emplea para identificar las causas que los generan. Sinopsis Un encapuchado ejecuta una acción sin contenido aparente, demarcando una zona de monte. Tratamiento estético La estética de la obra incorpora elementos e iconografía del MLNV usados en carteles y otros elementos de comunicación. En W5 es empleada para reflexionar sobre la violencia. Identidad colectiva La acción se desarrolla en un monte de la “montaña Navarra” concretamente en Oskotz (pueblo originario d e mi madre) uniendo el concepto de identidad individual al de identidad colectiva. Territorialidad El balizamiento de un área del monte por parte de un encapuchado hace referencia al concepto de territorialidad. Intención de la obra Esta instalación aborda de forma explícita la violencia, de cómo las acciones violentas carecen de contenido en cuanto que las inercias y los condicionantes que muy a menudo las impulsan están carentes de todos los planteamientos iniciales que las generaron. Quizá el replanteamiento de estas cinco sencillas cuestiones pueda, por medio de la autocrítica por un lado y del análisis profundo por otro, llegar a conclusiones no condicionadas. Es en definitiva, una invitación a la reflexión a todos los implicados en el “conflicto vasco”, una invitación a pararse y replantear las condiciones actuales, como principio de un acercamiento en las voluntades de entendimiento.

SINOPSIA TRATAMENDU ESTETIKOA Lan honen estetikak ENAMek kartelgintzan eta bestelako komunikazio euskarrietan erabilitako ikonografia eta elementuak barneratzen ditu. W5 indarkeriaren gainean hausnartzeko erabili dugu. TALDE-NORTASUNA Nafarroako Mendialdeko mendi batean gertatzen da lan hau , Oskotzen, nire amaren sorterrian hain zuzen, norbanako eta talde nortasuna uztartuz. LURRALDETASUNA Txanodun batek mendi sail bat hesitzeak lurraldetasun kontzeptuari egiten dio erreferentzia. OBRAREN XEDEA Instalazio hau modu zuzenean hurbiltzen zaio indarkeriari. Indarrezko ekintzek ez dute edukirik, inertziek eta inertzia hauek bultzatzen dituzten eragileek galdu egin dituztelako sorreran zituzten planteamendu guztiak. Baliteke bost galdera xume hauek berriz ere egiten badira, aldez aurreko baldintzarik gabeko ondorioetara iritsi ahal izatea, autokritikaren eta azterketa sakonaren bidez. Izan ere, finean, euskal gatazkan zeresana duten eragileei hausnarketarako gonbita baita hau. Gonbita, bidean gelditu eta gaurko baldintzak birplanteatzeko, elkar ulertu nahi duten borondateak beraien arten hurbiltzen hasteko.

33430467-J Identidad individual / auto-retrato / identidad colectiva Identidad individual La identidad es el conjunto de atributos y características que permiten individualizar a las personas en el entorno social. Esta diferenciación tiene tres orígenes que interactúan constantemente: la predeterminación genéticosocial, las interacciones del individuo con su medio (formando parte éste, en cierta manera, de la predeterminación social) y las influencias del entorno sobre el bagaje genético-social. Son, por lo tanto, estos conjuntos de variables los que conforman las identidades individuales y la suma de todas ellas, las diferentes identidades colectivas. El documento nacional de identidad no revela nada más que unos datos básicos tanto físicos como sociales (predeterminados) del individuo, así como la catalogación en un colectivo nacional con la asignación de un número de identificación. Auto-retrato Para la valoración de esta pieza es importante tener en cuenta que el D.N.I. es un retrato anónimo regulado por el estado que es quien decide qué datos y qué pruebas han de figurar en él. A su vez, es un autorretrato ya que la fotografía la aporta el propietario del documento, la voluntad de solicitarlo también es de este, así como la firma, las impresiones dactilares, etc... La toma de conciencia de mi propio D.N.I/A.D.N. como obra dentro de mi proyecto artístico, inicialmente parecía ser una conclusión, una respuesta, pero ahora me vuelve a plantear dudas en cuanto que puedo modificar algunos de los datos e informaciones que aparecen en el documento y además puedo influir al menos, en alguno de los aspectos citados anteriormente (interacción individuo-entorno y medio-individuo) configurando voluntariamente rasgos de mi identidad. Uno de los proyectos en los que estoy trabajando es el cambio de mi nombre actual José Fermín Hernández Díez de Ulzurrun a Fermín Díez de Ulzurrun, mi nombre artístico. Esta sencilla modificación expresa una profunda voluntad de cambio y de toma de consciencia de un cierto dominio o control sobre algunos aspectos de la identidad tanto personal como colectiva. Identidad colectiva Bajo las premisas de que puedo influir en el entorno que va a producir inputs sobre mi personalidad y que mi comportamiento sobre el medio tendrá consecuencias sobre mi bagaje genético-social a medio-largo plazo, vislumbro la incorporación a mi proyecto de obras que implicarán cambios sustanciales en mi propia identidad y que a su vez influirán más en mi entorno socio-cultural. Quizá este sea el modo de alterar, de alguna manera, el medio y de que la creación artística interactúe, de alguna forma, con los entornos en los que se desenvuelve nuestra existencia y vaya algo más lejos en el campo de las ideas, afectando a la colectividad cultural e influyendo sobre las identidades tanto propia como ajena de una manera más real.
