6 Habits Of Super Healthy People Have you often wondered how some people seem to juggle a full-time job, household chores, and an active fitness routine successfully? Well, I’m here to reveal the unshared secrets of such people.

Here are the 6 habits of super healthy (and happy) people. 1. They understand that no matter how yucky life may get, they always have a choice. Now you might be thinking – not everyone has the luxury to opt out of situations in life. True; but you have the choice to not focus on the negatives. You could be in jail – confined by 4 walls with little contact with the outside world – but you could still use the time productively to learn a new skill. Make similar choices every day. What happens outside of you may not be in your control, but what happens inside as a reaction- is. 2. They don’t let their negative thoughts take charge of them. Instead, they take charge of their thoughts and do what is right, even if they may not be feeling like it. Hitting the gym, calling a friend, taking a bath – the task can be big or small – but if in the past it has made you happy, then you should give it a try despite all impediments. We all relate to not feeling like doing anything on some days, and then for some reason, having to go out for an unavoidable outing, and then feeling amazing after. Then, you tell yourself, “I will never say no to lunches with my friends again, even if I don’t feel like it,” but it happens again and you cancel. So, break that cycle. TAKE CHARGE.

3.

They establish a cut-off time for themselves and follow it. With 24/7 email access, many people never mentally clock out from their jobs, and our culture tends to praise an all-work-no-play-mentality. But healthy people know that while work is important, your work and health suffers when you don’t take time for yourself. My cut-off time is 7 pm each day, and I make sure that I stay far away from my phone and laptop after this time. 4. They know how to say no. Putting others’ needs before yours all the time is not a very practical approach. It will only lead you to mental and emotional exhaustion. Remind yourself that just as others need your time, your own self needs time too. Learn to say no when it is not feasible for you to do something and don’t feel guilty about it. 5. They drink lots of water. I had a colleague once who would sip water throughout the day. She went through almost 5-6 litres of water just in the 8 hours that she was at work. Back then, I was the least interested in hydration and drank maybe 2 glasses of water in a day. A few months in, thanks to her, I was chugging water like a water-deprived maniac. And why not; water is one of the most beneficial drinks on the planet. Water plays a role in metabolism, digestion, temperature regulation, blood concentration and circulation and so much more. 6. They sneak in exercise whenever possible. You don’t have to delegate 2 exclusive hours in a day to working out. Sometimes that’s just not possible. Instead, take the stairs instead of the lift. Choose a fruit over a croissant for snacks. Walk around when you’re on a call instead of slumping in one place. Use peer pressure to your advantage by motivating each other to get healthier by the day.

The biggest secret that all healthy people share is that despite facing challenges in life, just as all of us do, they adapt quickly to make sure that their health isn’t suffering. They put their health and happiness before everything and don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. On that note, good luck to you on your new journey to health and happiness.
