Despite its mature music instruments industry, Australasia has never had a dedicated medium for the music business and has relied on the consumer press or international publications to remain informed. In 2014, that’s all changing. musicBiz is a magazine produced locally for the Australasian music supply chain – the wholesalers and distributors, the retailers, the educators, instrument rental businesses, those who service and repair instruments – and those businesses which supply these enterprises. It’s for business big and small, established players and those just entering the market. The magazine has been endorsed by the Australian Music Association and shares common goals with the AMA - professionalising the music industry and providing its members with access to leading-edge information, advice and expertise. The magazine is a place we can all talk business – secure in the knowledge that we’re talking to a targeted and focused audience of music business professionals. Sure, the music industry is a tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone – but it is growing fast and changing to meet the new demands of a globalised, competitive economy. musicBiz will become the focal point for strategic and tactical discussions about the future of the industry. Here, you’ll learn from those who do it well – both locally and globally. musicBiz has already formed alliances with international experts who are keen to share their knowledge and experience. We look forward to working with the industry and all its players as we shine a light on all that is good about our industry and our people.
