PART 1: THE 2 THINGS THAT REVOLUTIONIZED MY STORY... MAY TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND

When I started my first home based business back in 1999, I didn’t understand marketing, systems, or the real processes used by the top home based business owners to make a living from home. So as I started my journey, I was really only being told half of the story…and half of the story led me to extremely small results. I lost a bunch of money to be exact.

Whether this is your first attempt at making a living from home, or you’ve been struggling for years to make something work, let me assure you: this can be your last and most successful if you take the time to go through our orientation, training, and take the necessary action that I recommend to you in this training package. In 1999, I was attending university full time and searching for ways to get rich. At the time I didn’t realize it but my idea of “getting rich” wasn’t going to materialize for one big reason: I wasn’t specific enough in my goal and thus I couldn’t put an action plan together to achieve it.

By 2001, I had tried and failed at a couple of home based businesses. Not because the businesses weren’t any good, but rather the actions I was taking to succeed were never going to produce the results I was hoping for. I was now also working full time as an Army Recruiter and my days were suddenly full of work and responsibility and my evenings full spending time with my twin boys who had just entered their terrible two’s. By about 2002, I was broke and declared personal bankruptcy. But I refused to give up and refused to accept a mediocre life of working 9-5 and getting paid less than I felt I was worth (and definitely less than I wanted to live on!)

Up until 2003, I continued to follow the instructions given to me in different home based businesses with very limited success. The focus of most them was to approach my friends and family and try to convince them to join me in recruiting their friends and family to do the same. I also tried a couple of different mailing programs where I would mail out 100 or 200 letters to people hoping that they would send me money or join the business I was in.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was so close to having success, but needed to fix my “process” before it would ever work. I easily could have gotten stuck on the same path of failure for the next 12 years doing the same things over and over with little to no profits to show for my work. But in late 2003, I made the extra effort to speak with two men that were already running their own home based business and I got them to help me fix my process. In fact, not only did they help me fix my processes, they also decided to partner with me and we worked together to create a mega-success that instantly turned me from a bankrupt father of 2, working full time as an Army Recruiter into an “overnight” home based business success story. I’ve never looked back since. Before I tell you exactly what they fixed to turn my whole outlook around, I want you to understand that no matter what your current situation, I can “fix” what you’ve been doing too. It’s a simple fix, but it’s not obvious (meaning you probably would never do it on your own without someone showing you how). Have you ever heard somebody say: “I can sell ice to eskimos” Although that’s a cute way of saying that they’re a great salesperson, it’s really a horrible analogy and gives us the wrong message as home based business owners. 4 | Postcard Net worker

HERE ARE THE 2 KEY THINGS THAT THEY FIXED FOR ME – THEY TOLD ME: 1. You need to sell stuff to people that they already want to buy. 2. You can’t do all the work yourself.

THESE 2 SIMPLE CONCEPTS CAN BE MORE PROFESSIONALLY DEFINED AS: 1. Bringing Value To The Marketplace 2. Leverage


First, how could anyone possibly sell ice to someone who lives in a land with 1000’s of miles of free ice? Also, the better question would be “Why would you want to sell them something they don’t want to buy?”

These two guys made it clear to me. To make money in a business, my primary job is to bring value to my customers. If I’m not offering them something that they value (more than their money), they will not pay me for it. That made so much sense. I needed to simply just match what I was selling to people that wanted to already buy it. This concept of “Bringing Value To The Marketplace” literally took my business from losing money consistently, to making thousands of dollars profit each month immediately. Here is the change I made:

Instead of trying to sell to people who didn’t want what I was selling, I spent my time finding people who wanted what I was already selling. And by 2004, I was making a full time income from my home based business, I quit my job, and was earning triple my old salary from my new business.

PART 2: SINCE 2004, THERE ARE MORE HOME BASED BUSINESS OPTIONS, BUT THE “SUCCESS PROCESS” IS STILL THE SAME In the last 7-10 years the internet and home based business industry has become saturated with lies, myths, and outlandish promises of untold riches. Each new marketing website or mail order system tries to one-up the last, promising you more money for doing less work. With each new website brings a proliferation of methods, teachings, and trainings that muddy the waters even further to confuse you on what actually works. So with 10’s of 1000’s of websites promising you online riches, how do you decipher what is real and what can really work to help you reach your income goals? A clear understanding of what creates wealth in any marketplace; online or off line will help guide you to make smart choices about where to invest your money, time, and energy.

There are 2 key elements that will result in wealth creation for you. These are gaining leverage and bringing value to the marketplace. If you can master these 2 elements you will be in full control of your financial success online. So how do rich people get wealthy through leverage?

Rich people get wealthy by leveraging other people’s time and effort. They do this by getting other people to do work for them. In most cases they offer them a job as an employee. Next they get their new employee to make products or provide services that the rich can sell to other people at a profit and this process simply continues day after day. Every time the employee shows up for work, they get a paycheck and the rich make a profit for every hour that the employee works for them. The more employees they have, the more money they make. So how do people get rich from a home based business?

The home based business world works slightly different, but with a big upside. Instead of employees, you can just get independent affiliates or independent business owners to work with you. And because it’s too hard to keep track of when they work or what work they do, they’re just rewarded for results instead of the hours they work. You’ll never have to worry about paying these people as employees because they will only get paid when they make money for you. So if you want to become wealthy from a home based business, you just need to start getting other people to work with you as an affiliate or independent business owner. This is where you might start asking…where do I find these people to be affiliates or independent business owners? Don’t worry we have a simple advertising system that walks you through each step of the way. But for now, I just want you to understand that other people are going to make YOU money every time they work to get themselves paid. So the next question is: How do I start my own business that brings value to the marketplace? There are many businesses that are already successfully set up to do this and I’m going to show you how to become a partner with one instead of having to start your own from scratch. make getting into profit a much faster process for you. That’s why you’re here in the first place right? You want to make money, not to learn how to start a corporation. So once we get st ar ted, your affiliates or independent business owners will be paid for doing one of two simple things:

They can refer new customers or they can attract more independent business owners to be members of your network. Most of your independent business owners will decide to start by simply referring customers because it’s easier and they’ll do this by simply following our simple customer acquisition plan.

When they get results, they make money and so do you. Your independent business owner is happy because they can spend their time to make money for themselves. And you’re able to leverage their efforts to make money for you.

Now that you understand how I’m going to help you get other people to make you money, it’s time to talk about the really exciting part. This business has been designed to keep paying you month after month long after you’ve even stopped working. Here’s how: Every time one of your new independent business owners makes money for themselves, they also make money for you. So while they continue to do the work to get paid, you can sit back and relax and earn from their work. And the more independent business owners and customers you have the more money you’ll make. Even if you stop working, you’ll still continue to get paid month after month, because YOUR independent business owners are still working to make them and you more money. So now that you understand how you can gain leverage by getting other people to make you money, next you can learn how you can partner with a company that will provide you with everything you need to bring exceptional value to the marketplace.

PART 3: BRINGING VALUE TO THE MARKETPL ACE, SKIPPING YOUR WAY TO THE TOP Most people believe that in order to be an entrepreneur, you have to be an inventor or start your own specialized service company. This is the furthest from the truth. Why not just find a successful line of products, and create a system to sell their products for them? This is what Sam Walton of Walmart did, and you can do it too.

Sam Walton opened his first store in 1950 selling other people’s products. By 1967, he grew to 24 stores and was selling $12.6 million worth of other people’s products. Did Sam work in each of those stores himself every day? Of course not, he had leverage through employees showing up for work each day to sell the products to their customers. By 1975, Walmart grew to 125 stores selling $340 million dollars of other people’s products. I keep saying other people’s products – because Sam wasn’t manufacturing any of these products, he was simply an independent affiliate for products made by other companies.

In 2015, Walmart sold $485 billion dollars of other people’s products. That’s billion with a B. So the question to ask yourself in this short history of just 65 years is: 8 | Postcard Net worker


“Do you think Walmart is selling products that people already want or buy?” Of course the answer is a resounding YES. But I wanted to use this example to illustrate that selling other people’s products is a highly lucrative business and is responsible for one of the biggest business successes in our lifetime.

Your two options to follow in this model are: 1. Start your own store, stock the shelves, and sell to customers in your local market. 2. Use a company that will ship direct to your customers, and acquire new customers anywhere in the country.

In 2003, when I started getting real success in a home based business I became an independent business owner with a company that shipped products direct to consumers. This model has continued to gain even more traction over the years with giant companies like Amazon.com putting many small local retailers out of business by shipping direct to consumer from large warehouses.

I simply focused my efforts on acquiring new customers and leveraging my efforts by acquiring new independent business owners and I let the company do the rest. They handled all of the manufacturing, billing, product delivery, paying commissions…I just had to link up the customers with the business and then I was done.

Here’s the amazing thing that happened for me in that business. I gained so much leverage in such a fast period of time, that my team of independent business owners were making so many more sales than I could ever do on my own, that my income more than tripled my old salary as an Army recruiter. This is where the light bulb really turned on for me. And once you understand how to implement this next part into your life…you will never work at a traditional job ever again. I’ve learned (and you will too), that to be successful I should just model successful people and businesses. Another way to say it is: Copy what successful people are doing and you will have the same success that they do. The major roadblock for me was (and up until now for you has been):

If you choose the wrong people to follow, you’ll be destined to failure and you’ll start to believe that nothing will work.

Have you ever spoken with someone who tries to tell you that their revolutionary new product is going to change the world? Yeah…so have I, and I always run the other way.

I’ve sold many different products and services over the last 12 years and I can tell you with certainty that I’ve always had the most success simply getting people to “switch stores” and buy their products from our company over somebody else’s company. 10 | P o s t c a r d N e t w o r k e r


Take a minute and just think about your own buying habits of consumer goods, groceries, electronics, etc… Your buying habits are probably based on things like price, quality and convenience. Mine are too! My wife and I regularly shop at stores locally, online, and even on the shopping channels on TV when we feel like the products are a better price, better quality or more convenient.

Since there are literally 100,000’s of products to choose from to sell to consumers, in my research I have taken the time to significantly narrow down the choice to a specific industry and type of product based on the following criteria: 1. Do millions of people buy these products already? 2. Are people willing to buy these products online or through a catalog? 3. Can we compete with stores like Walmart and Amazon.com based on price, quality or convenience? 4. Can we add value to our consumer beyond just our product offering? 5. Are there many choices of companies we can choose from to sell their products?

All of these questions led me to an industry and product line that says YES to every single one:

NUTRITION AND WEIGHT LOSS

This is a $73 Billion Dollar Market.

Over ½ of US adults already use a dietary supplement.

Ordering nutrition and weight loss products through TV, radio, online, or a catalog is already widely accepted. Most nutrition products are manufactured in similar US facilities, so we can easily compete with large corporations based on price, quality and convenience. We can add significant value through education on these products. There are many affiliate based companies that offer nutrition and weight loss products.

PART 5: THE SUCCESSFUL POSTC ARD NET WORKER Success in network marketing is about successfully gaining leverage from a large number of people. It’s not about your pitch, your compensation plan, or even your product. (these need to be good, but it’s not the key to success) Success in network marketing is about the numbers. A mentor of mine from the real estate industry told me “Stop working harder…just fix the math”. So I applied it to my network marketing business.

You start with just 100 postcards and get an average response of just 1%.

This gets you 1 new member for your network marketing business, they get 100 postcards to mail out and you get 100 postcards to mail out (for free). You both send out your 100 postcards (200 total) and get 1%.

This gets you 1 new member, and your team member 1 new member – which is 2 new members in your network marketing business AND your new members get 200 postcards and you and your teammate gets 100 postcards each (for free). Next 400 postcards sent. 1% response = 4 members + 800 postcards.
