There’s a lot of talk about anti-bullying nowadays, but for most people, talking about it and actually doing something about it are two totally different stories. But for Izzy, talking about it isn’t enough. After seeing too many hurtful messages on clothing that were glorifying a “mean girl” attitude, as well as seeing her friends being victimized by bullying, Izzy and her mom Karin, knew something needed to be done to create a positive change. And so Izzy Be Fashion was born. Izzy and Karin have only been designing clothing for a little over a year but Izzy’s love of design stems back to her Barbie doll days. She says she was usually unimpressed with the clothes that came packaged with her dolls, so she would ask her mom to take her to the fabric store to pick out her own ensembles to drape her dolls in. Eight years later, Izzy and her mom have combined their love of fashion, with their passion to do good and help others and created a mini fashion empire.

The mission of the Izzy Be clothing line is to empower girls by encouraging them to be comfortable with their own identity, and let them know that true beauty comes from within. Izzy has chosen to spread her message by replacing the negative language seen on today’s teen and tween clothing, and replacing it with positive messages. ‘Be Brave,’ ‘Always be kind,’ ‘Be strong,’ ‘You are beautiful,’ and ‘ Believe in yourself’ are just a few of the messages you’ll find splashed across the front of Izzy’s laid-back tees, tanks, and sweats. Not only is the IzzyBe clothing line helping to inspire and uplift young girls, but a portion of every purchase will be donated to select nonprofit organizations which are geared towards aiding the victims of human trafficking and helping them regain their basic human right of freedom.
