HOMELESS VETERANS SERVICES

HVSD is a non-profit program that Serves Veterans only. A veteran ID or proof of military service (DD214) will be required to access services.

WE ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION SERVING VETERANS. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE SERVICES WITH DIGNITY FOR AT RISK VETERANS. MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, WE SERVE BREAKFAST, A SACK LUNCH, ACCESS TO SHOWERS, HYGIENE KITS, LAUNDRY FACILITIES, CLOTHING, BLANKETS, AND PROVISIONS FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE DAY CENTER PROVIDES A WAY TO GET OUT OF THE WEATHER AND REST.

Hours of Operation Monday – Friday, from 8 AM – 3 PM. Entry doors will open at 7:00 AM to allow veterans to access covered seated waiting area with coffee until Day Center opens.

Hygiene closet hours M-F 8:30-9:15 AM

Personal hygiene items, clothes, laundry, shower towels, soap, etc. will be issued during these times only.

Breakfast is from 8-8:30 AM Lunch Noon-12:30 PM (unless otherwise posted) Monday – Friday Laundry Services Available Last Laundry must be started by 12:30 PM

Showers Last shower must be completed by 1:30 PM

For Veterans with housing, non-perishable groceries are available once a week (while supplies last).

WHO WE ARE

A non-profit organization with a mission to help homeless, at-risk veterans of North Texas. Part of our center is set up to assist veterans with their job search needs. In addition, we offer educational programs such as welding, forklift, and OSHA training. Our goal is to help veterans obtain the resources they need or assist with finding them.

This program is supported by a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. The Fund for Veterans’ Assistance provides grants to organizations serving veterans and their families. For more information, visit www.TVC.Texas.gov.
