“FOREVER YOUNG”

A Tribute to My Best Friend Nikolas Moralez

It has been 11years since my best friend Nikolas Moralez left this world and became my forever guiding angel.

Nik, you were my best friend since 3rd grade at St. Mary’s Catholic School. We were always together and did some stupid and funny things together. Lunch time and PE at St. Mary’s Catholic School was fun. We got in trouble a lot for talking in class. We just had too much to talk about.

We were very lucky our parents sent us to Bonham Jr. High together. Our friendship continued at Bonham. The sleepover and going to the movies were always a fun time. We always had a reason to laugh and would tell funny stories of stupid things we did.

On May 31, 2012 a part of me was taken away. It was our last day of Junior High at Bonham and we had big plans for Permian High School. We spent the whole day on May 31, 2012 together since we didn’t have classes. A few hours we were both picked up from school, the cold hand of death snatched you away. I didn’t believe you were gone and I just wanted to get to the hospital in time to tell you how I loved you and will miss you. I think about you every day when I look at our silly hat picture on the wall of my room. It makes me smile. I wanted my mom to honor you in this track meet today, so your memory will last for a long time.

Nik, I really miss you but God knows best. May you continue to rest in heaven while you remain our guardian angel on earth.

Always your friend, Dexter Neboh

“FOREVER YOUNG”

Welcome!

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ~John 14:27

Nikolas Moralez, age 14, was involved in a car accident and passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012.

Nikolas was born January 17, 1998 and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School grade 3 through 6 and Bonham Jr. High school 8th and 8th grade.

Nik’s favorite pastimes were golfing, hanging out with his friends and entertaining his 23 month old niece. He was involved in many sports and was a member of the Permian High School Golf team. Nikolas was an inspiration to all his family and friends. He was a gentle, kind soul that people would naturally gravitate toward. He took from no one but gave to everyone. He had a smile that lit up a room. He serves as a pillar for those he’s left behind and he will remain in our hearts, forever young.

Thank you for attending the track meet all the participants. We (mom and dad) that friends would want to honor him Thank you to the Neboh family for making

We love you!

Morale’s 2023 Scholarship Recipients

Joseph Flotte

My name is Joseph Flotte, I’m 18 and just graduated from high school. I come from a big family with 6 brothers and 2 sisters. I’ve been running since I was in 6th grade and i started to love running and be in track and cross country as much as possible. I probably don’t deserve this scholarship, but I worked hard to be great at what I do on and off the track. This scholarship will help me start my college at Wayland Baptist University and I am thankful for anything that is helpful for me and my family. I am thankful for West Texas Track Club for letting me on your team so I can do what I love to do and compete.

-Joseph Flotte

Valarie

Reyna

My name is Valarie Reyna and I am writing for this scholarship opportunity, as I begin my senior year track journey. I currently reside in Lubbock, Tx with my parents and two younger siblings. My sole purpose in applying for this and any future scholarship is help my parents with the financial cost of allowing me to further my education options. My main goal is to lessen that financial cost for them, since one of my parents is also in school and my other two siblings needing their support. I have been involved in track competitions since I was in middle school and I love the competition side of it. I wish to go onto college and compete at the collegiate level, if that is what God has planned for me. I am not really sure what college I will choose to go too, since I am waiting to visit a couple of more schools. I have current interest in West Texas A&M, McMurray, ACU, ASU. I do know that I plan on getting a degree in the area of sonography/ radiology. I am grateful for the amount of support from my family, friends and parents on helping guide me thru this journey. When I am not running, at school or working; I share my time volunteering at church, school functions, youth group activities, local hospital activities and Pediatric Oncology events. I like to be help motivate the youth, and set a good example for them. If considered and granted this scholarship opportunity, I plan to use supplies, tuition or any school necessities to help me reach a higher I just thank you for the chance to apply and providing me with a chance my goal of continuing my track passion and college school desire.

-Valarie Reyna

Nik, My Guardian Angel

As I sat at my desk taking my final examination at Permian High School, I couldn’t help but think of you Nik. I was trying so hard to focus, but your memories kept floating through my brain. All the fun and laugher was coming back. 2016 would have been our best and final year in high school. We talked a lot about Permian High School and what we wanted to accomplish. We also had other funny plans for high school: The sleepover on graduation night was on our list. Project Graduation was also something we talked about for fun.

My signing day for college was difficult. I couldn’t help but think of how happy you would have been to see me sign my college letter of intent. I know Oklahoma University would not have been your choice, but you would still stand by me on signing day; laughing, cheering and poking me.

Thank you Nik for always giving me the inner strength to fight at every track and field competition, especially the state meet. When I walk up before each jump I can hear you telling me not to give up. I know you are probably laughing at me when I get angry and can’t jump well.

Nik, you are my guardian angel. I miss you this year more than any other year since you left. We were supposed to graduate together and go to college, but God had a different plan for us. You would have painted a lot of faces on graduation sleepover night. I will continue praying for you until we meet again in heaven.

Rest in peace Nik; we all love you!! Your best friend, Dexter Neboh
