Hello and welcome to the first issue of Sanctuary Magazine! I have been interested in natural health, holistic living, enlightenment, and alternative subjects most of my life. Born with the inclination to question everything, finding new or unusual sources of information and people to talk to has always been a passion of mine. In 2006, I opened The Sanctuary for Mind, Body, & Spirit in Memphis, TN as a store and community center, after I noticed a need in the area. There were many people who offered services and products and many people looking for them, who had yet to meet. There also seemed to be a void for places to find learning opportunities in the area. The Sanctuary came together as a result of my desire to connect people with what they were looking for. We held many events and fairs until I relocated back to Orlando in 2012, bringing the energy of The Sanctuary with me and producing several events here as well.

I’ve been thrilled, moved, heartened, and enlightened by the many people I’ve met over the years. I’ve met folks doing their work in holistic health, spiritual practices, and neuroscience, among many other fantastic genres. It’s been a delight to put together some of the interesting things these people showcase for this magazine. I have also been very touched by people who have sought me out at some of our events such as SpiritFest and the Conscious Living Expo.
“I’ve never had anyone I could talk to about these things, no one else I know seems interested.” “Thank you for having this event because I just learned something that confirmed what I’ve been feeling for years,” are just two things I heard that make this work worthwhile for me. Please consider this magazine like a storehouse of information. There are things we’ll cover that will be of interest to many different people and we’ll cover unique subjects each issue. We plan to publish quarterly, with an interactive edition online. Our print copies will be available at many different locations throughout central FL that will be listed on our website. If you are interested in receiving copies for your location, please contact us and we’ll get them to you. This magazine is for you, because of you! I am so happy you found your way to reading it. I would love to hear your comments and suggestions. Email me at maryellen@sanctuaryFL.com and I will reply. Grace and peace to you,
Mary Ellen

Déjà vu is another similar but different experience. If you and I sat in a coffee shop, for example, and one of us suddenly realized we’d had this same modern-day experience before, that’s déjà vu. After working as a past-life regressionist for 20 years and regressing thousands of people, I’ve discovered another phenomenon I call Supretrovie, an externally induced past life memory triggered by travel, or artifacts. In the case of Egypt, I experienced a spontaneous memory when I visited The Great Pyramids. When this happens, the regression becomes a tool for healing past lives rather than for discovering them. People don’t necessarily have to travel to experience Supretrovie. One of my clients experienced a panic attack at a museum when he stood before Egyptian artifacts. He viewed objects on exhibition and his current reality faded away, replaced by a scene where he found himself working deep within a tomb when a mountain of sand collapsed on him. His friends carried him out of the museum and he eventually regained his composure. I’ve discovered Supretrovie happens to just about everybody, but we’re all programmed by a skeptical society to push such memories down and dismiss our inner visions as silly figments of the imagination. My new book, Edgar Cayce’s Egyptian Energy Healing, describes rituals from the Egyptian healing temples and takes readers through an initiation into several new healing symbols that may stir up memories for those who lived in ancient Egypt. Have you experienced Supretrovie? If so, I’d love to hear from you! I’d also love to hear your impressions after you read through the new book. Several readers reported the book triggered memories from the past. Meanwhile, enjoy your journey and embrace the discovery of your past life connections.

Crystals
Part of Holistic Health Protocol
C
By Laura Painter

Laura Painter tells how crystals became a part of her path to health in her own words.
Crystals became a part of my holistic health protocol in 2004 while recovering from an emergency open-heart bypass the year before. A near-death experience before the age of 40! What? Believe me… it was a game changer! Something inside of me, an innate knowing, urged me to seek out natural and holistic protocols making a conscious choice to rejuvenate, seeing myself as whole, healed and complete. Through lifestyle changes, I continue to remain pharmaceutical-free for more than 15 years. Implementing many natural health protocols during what I like to call my renewal season was a new journey for me. Applying multiple changes, virtually overnight, was unavoidable. Everything changed. How I viewed life changed. How I show up in life changed, too. Introducing something new to your self-care routine or when introducing a new protocol can be easy and fun. There are many avenues to go down the same road. What would it take for more ease with healing and wellness? I’ve always been fascinated with rocks, crystals and stones, oh my! So, I began an in-depth journey to learn about their amazing healing properties and benefits. Imbibing with the mineral kingdom was a tangible tool for me, increasing the connection of Earth-Energy and Source, creating a catalyst for the changes I was seeking.

The
Universe is my Super BFF By Emily Murphy I recently had the honor of presenting at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. It was an enormous accomplishment and a delight to share my passion with that audience. The meeting that lead to the idea, that led to the opportunity, cascaded for me as I was simply following joy, as all good manifestation stories start.
EPCOT colors This brings me to these little pencils. On my first visit to EPCOT, when I was around 8 years old, I loved everything about it. I especially loved the colors. I had read an article about color psychology, and how the imagineers and designers used it extensively there. To this day, I will see a particular shade and think oh, that's "Imagination purple" or "Horizons orange" or just think "oh that's an EPCOT color," in general. I even have two articles of clothing that are representative of my EPCOT feels. That visit is in the foundation of who I am as an artist. At the end of that trip, years ago, we hit the gift shop, and I remember wanting so many things! I realize now that I was desperately trying to bring home artifacts of how EPCOT made me feel. One thing I got was a tiny kit of wee, little pencils and a tiny pad of paper in a flip-open plastic case. For some reason, I imprinted on that item. Every now and then, I will have a flash of the memory of those pencils and I'll get a little time capsule jolt of happiness.
I got to do something extremely cool. Speaking at EPCOT was magical. I did a huge thing that I never would have believed was accessible to me. It was not perfect, but it was mine. I had so much support from my family-of-choice. People took off work, drove from far away, one even flew down from NYC! It was astounding to be so supported and loved. I was very emotional, because, no matter how the me-of-now feels about the less-than-perfect parts of my presentation, the 8-year-old me would have flipped her lid to know that I got to do something so extremely cool.
The Universe and I are BFFs. Since the Universe and I are super BFFs and we like to send each other secret messages all the time and I happen to have an extraordinary ability to manifest unexpected and amazing opportunities and the Universe likes to autograph the gifts to me of which it is particularly proud, Naturally, there was a pack of tiny pencils smiling at me at the cash register at the Japan pavilion. For a brief second, I could see every glittering connected dot from the little girl who wanted more souvenirs than she could hold, to the woman-of-the-moment. I saw an extraordinary flash, realizing how the universe has been conspiring in my favor all along.

What Are Chakras? By Candace Smith
A chakra is like a whirling vortex of energy. Think of it as an invisible, rechargeable battery. It is charged and recharged through contact with the stream of cosmic energy in the air. The ancient Yodic Indian literature describes these energy centers with the Sanskrit word chakra, meaning wheels of whirling energy.
The human energy field or aura is an energetic, multidimensional field that surrounds, penetrates, and makes up the human body. Rivers of energy called meridians nourish every organ and cell in our bodies. These rivers are supplied by vortexes of energy, called chakras. The chakras collect energy from the universal life force and energy field that is all around us. A chakra acts like a step-down transformer, it takes higher energies and changes them into forms that are usable by the human body. These energies cause hormonal, chemical, and cellular changes in the body. The chakras connect the spiritual and physical body together. Picture a vertical power current, up and down the spine, from top to bottom. The seven major chakras are in the center of the body and are aligned with this vertical power line. Each chakra relates to a specific organ in the body and is subtly linked to the other six chakras. A different endocrine gland is associated with each chakra.
12
The SANCTUARY FOR MIND, BODY & SPIRIT
The first three lower chakras are a large part of our physical component. The four higher chakras relate more to the psychological roles. This is not strictly true, but is the easiest way to think about them. Physically, the first and second chakra are related to generative and sexual functions. The third chakra deals with digestion. The fourth chakra deals with the heart and circulation. The fifth chakra relates to lungs and the voice and includes ears, nose and throat. Seventh chakra relates to the brain and the pineal gland. Picture them as circles starting at the groin. The first is red. The second circle is orange, between the groin and belly button. The third is yellow and just above the belly button. The fourth is green, located at the heart. The sixth is blue, located at the throat. The sixth is indigo, located between your eyebrows at the forehead. The seventh is violet, just above the top of the head. The psychological functions of the three lower chakras are related to our raw emotions and biological instincts, sexual desire, hunger, passion, anger, pleasure and joy. The four higher chakras are related to higher cognitive states. The fourth chakra, the heart chakra, is related to empathy and understanding. The fifth or throat chakra relates to vocal expressions, hearing and the ability to communicate. The sixth or third eye is to discriminative cognition and the ability to understand. The crown or seventh chakra is also understanding and comprehension and relates to the ability of the mind to see the whole story.

Surviving

Uncomfortably Numb: A Turning of The Tables for One Drama Therapist
By Tim Reagan, PhD, RDT, APTT I direct a therapeutic theatre company of adults with and without disabilities. Playback Theatre emerged as the genre of choice for our group more than two years ago. We like the artistry, community and ritual of Playback. We all sit comfortably around our theatre table, each with a role to play. We are fed and nourished there despite our differences, some of which include developmental delays, a place on the autism spectrum, or as survivors of traumatic brain injury, “TBI.” One loyal company member named Clare survived a near fatal auto accident as a child. Today, at 30-something, Clare is continually learning to manage her life as a TBI survivor regardless of the fact that she continues to have difficulties with her vision, navigating, and speaking bluntly about what is going on around her. Unexpectedly, I moved to Clare’s side of the table. My story begins January 14, 2006 when I was 42. My wife, Lisa, and I are returning home from the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC after seeing WICKED. I’m driving. Red light. I look to the left and catch a glimpse of an apartment building we’ve visited a few times. A friend used to live there. Green light. My eyes return to the road. Something’s wrong. I feel a little light-headed, sort of like when you stand up too fast and your head starts to spin. I pull over.
14
The SANCTUARY FOR MIND, BODY & SPIRIT
Lisa yells, “Stop, stop. Put on the breaks.” We bump into the car ahead of us. We stop, yet I’m not sure how. I’m disoriented, but can hear myself mumbling to Lisa something like, “Goshek. Seef OK.” I mean to say, “Go check. See if the other car is OK.” Lisa steps out of the car. I’m alone and attempt to move as Lisa checks the other car and speaks with the driver. My left side won’t budge. Instinct tells me to pick up my left arm with my right hand. I do, but I let go and it falls clumsily onto the steering wheel and then onto my lap. I think I know what is happening, but I don’t dare say “the word.” What follows takes place at lightning speed: Ambulance. Hospital. Questions. Tests. Hospital bed. Morning. I’m making phone calls. The damn phone is on my “numb” side. I don’t hurt, but why can’t they move the phone to the other side of my bed? I’m uncomfortable, but feel well enough to let family, friends and colleagues know that I’m doing well. Or, am I?
We bump into the car ahead of us. We stop, yet I’m not sure how. “So, you’re the one who had the stroke, huh?” says the day nurse. Beat. It’s official. I had a stroke. The tables have turned. I’m on the other side looking at life much differently than how I used to. “Is there an art therapist in this hospital?” I ask. “No,” says the nurse, “but I can get you a box of crayons.” How I yearn to express myself. I like to fidget, draw, make projects, or play the piano. The hospital doesn’t seem to believe in the power of the expressive arts here. It’s not the world I thought it was, but I need to make sense of it. I need to get out of this hospital. More stuff happens. Wires. Monitors. Sleep. No sleep. More tests. I can walk. I tell my wife that if I have another stroke to please don’t stop talking to me. Although it may not look like I will be able to understand her. I will. I promise.
I use the bathroom independently. Discharge. Vision tests. Vision deficit. It’s ok for me to drive. Neuropsych exam. Interesting, but frustrating. Occupational Therapy. I graduate after one visit. Vision Therapy. Insurance won’t cover it. Moving stationary through space, like in a car, works for me. Moving through space while walking is more surreal. Everything is familiar, but not. I get lost after picking up my seven-year old daughter from dance class. I’m confused, since I know this route. She gives me directions to the main road from the back seat of the car. We make it home. She’s proud she could help dad. I’m grateful to have a seven-year-old backseat driver! Speech Therapy. It works. I learn strategies to compensate. The Blackberry becomes my best friend. The moderate stroke I had in my right temporal occipital lobe has changed my life. I like to think I’m still sitting at the theatre table, but in a new spot. I’ve never seen the world from this place before. I hope it makes me a better drama therapist.
About the Author Tim Reagan, PhD, is a drama therapist and theatre educator. He lives with his family in Silver Spring, MD. After his stroke, Tim pursued and received a doctorate in expressive therapies from Lesley University. His research focused on the impact Playback Theatre had on homeless youth who were experiencing bullying.

The Zone Zone
Definition: An area or region set apart from its surroundings by some characteristic. It seems that, no matter how that word’s used, everyone’s looking for a way to get into the zone and stay there. Even Rod Serling recognized the magic of it and created some of his most amazing stories around it.
But what is it really?
Here’s my question: What makes this place THE ZONE so special?
16
It’s no coincidence that the uprights on a football field are called the goal and that they are located in the end zone (in zone)! Football players lift weights, eat right and do whatever it takes to reach that place because that’s where the magic happens. And if you watch someone who’s serious about their billiard playing, you’ll notice they’re very quiet when they’re “playing” the game. They are so involved with the process that they don’t gloat when they make a brilliant shot, for doing that would only take them out of the zone and they know it! Race car drivers know they must shift into the zone where they’re able to hear their own intuition tell them how to weave in, out and around their competitors so they can cross the finish line (goal) before anyone else. And the best do it with such precision that they become one with the car they are driving. All musicians who’ve ever played live know that the zone’s where the creative spirit spontaneously and simultaneously brings a musical idea through without rehearsal. As a musician, I
The SANCTUARY FOR MIND, BODY & SPIRIT
By Keith Blanchard
can tell you that’s why we try to get “there” — so we can play from that space all night long. Even though everyone’s playing their own instrument, we somehow become the collective instrument of a higher idea. No one’s trying to make things fit but when we fall into it, our audience notices a tightness and feels a power in the performance. That’s where the magic happens! If you look closely at dancers who are in the zone, either on stage or in a club, they seem to be like children at play — swirling and twirling with their eyes closed, “lost” in a world where nothing affects them. Those taking a test in school or college aren’t necessarily trying to remember what they’ve studied; they are looking for the zone where information comes to them effortlessly. Those who are considered stars in the world of pornography pride themselves on being able to plunge into a sexual zone on cue. Matter of fact, most people, whether pros or amateurs, use the tool of “dirty talk” to throw themselves into an even deeper state of arousal —
because that’s where the magic happens! Every religion references the zone, whether they call it Nirvana, Higher Self or by one of God’s many names. I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t matter what you call it, it’s all the same Zone. Let me assure you that mystics, monks and others who’ve dedicated their lives to a spiritual discipline don’t have a monopoly on the zone. They just know what to do and how to do it. And now, so will you! All you need is intention, focus, concentration and commitment — the desire to be something “Greater” than what you may think is you — and you’re ready to go. Energy in the
Workplace
Balancing & Re-Centering Throughout your Workday By Savannah Slawson
Have you ever woken up on the wrong side of the bed and everything seemed to snowball into, “just one of those days?” Then, worse, you have to go to work! Perhaps, you have experienced a colleague in the workplace who just tends to be the Negative-Nancy or Debbie-Downer, and all you want to do is stay far away, shut the door and the blinds and totally keep to yourself? You are not the only one! But how can you manage your personal energy, surroundings, and adapt to others? Energy can go two ways, up and down, positive or negative. The effects of either side of the scale can influence an individual’s mood differently as well. Let’s say you are having a wonderful day, then you will walk around the office radiating positivity, which can be contagious and uplifting and encourage others to have a great day. While on the other hand, there are others who don’t understand how you might always be in such a good mood, causing them to feel aggravated and annoyed with you, because they want to feel this way, but do not know how! First, it is important to remember that when someone else may come off like they are having a “bad day,” it can naturally affect you, whether you are aware of it or not. Once you can recognize that an energy feels off, whether it be yours, the boss’s, or just the working space, you can consciously
18
choose to deflect or absorb the energy.
So how can you protect your energy?
Before going into the office, take a minute or five, and mentally create a bubble around yourself by taking in some deep breaths, breathing in love and breathing out gratitude. This will harness a positive radiation in your surrounding auric field. Create a sacred space in your surroundings with crystals, such as black tourmaline or selenite, to absorb negative energy and cleanse and purify. Himalayan salt lamps are also excellent purifiers and beautiful to decorate the space. Finally, if you want to be most efficient, pull out the sage, Palo Santo, or incense and burn it as long as the smoke won’t bother anyone! This can be done as often as necessary, but at least once a month should clear and refresh the work space. If you are affected by a less-than-positive mood, there are several things that can be done even within five to 10 minutes to re-center your energy when you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or distracted and you need to get your mind back to calm, on track, and shift into focus. By engaging the senses, you are able to bring yourself back to you, and shake off anything that is not serving you in this moment, whether it be a thought, emotion, energy or otherwise. When our senses are overwhelmed and overstimulated, it can cause us to feel anxious. Here are some ways to work with your

senses to re-center your energy. By stimulating and intentionally engaging the five senses, you can separate yourself from other people’s negativity and come back to self. Tune into some relaxing or uplifting music, deliberately sniff in some scents such as lemon, lavender, or mints to revitalize the spirit. Or even nibble on a piece of dark chocolate, just to bring in a piece of joy and put smile on your face! If you are feeling low or unmotivated, you can increase your energy by deliberately moving your body, including stretching, breathwork, or taking a moment to get out of the office. Walk around the building, sit outside
under a tree or absorb some sunshine. If you have more time and are able to, leave. Go ahead and take that “coffeebreak” and take a drive to the nearest coffee shop or gas station and just blast some of your favorite tunes to shake off that negative comment and regenerate your own happiness! My Aunt Rachel, from England, would always say, “Do not underestimate the power and importance of tea time.” We must begin to consciously allow for more self-time. This will be the key to our success and efficiency.

Because chaos demands the situation or circumstance or us to be adaptable. No doubt, living in Florida, you’ve seen lists and articles sounding the alarm that we need to prepare for hurricane season. There’s more we should be prepared for. With all the construction around, it’s not uncommon for water lines to be accidentally severed and neighborhood water temporarily be unsafe to drink. During the hot summers, electricity could go out due to power station overloads.

and unplug all appliances such as TV’s. • Know where your breaker box is.
• Locate the water cut-off before an emergency. • After emptying gallons of bleach, vinegar, milk or other liquids with screw off lids, wash thoroughly and fill with tap water. Mark the jugs clearly so you know they hold Tap Water. After many emergencies, you will need to boil tap water, unless you have some saved up ahead of time. We like to occasionally empty them into our potted plants and refresh the water.

A UGUST 1-4 August 1st comes in with a newly direct Mercury. No longer retrograde, the Moon enters Leo first thing, letting us connect strongly to others. Creativity gets a burst, and now that Mercury is moving in direct motion, we can start to finish those chores, and stories around the home center. The Moon talks to Saturn, and may not be speaking the same language. We are thwarted in our efforts at feeling validated. Bosses or career steps in front. The first will be a day we don’t feel completely on track. Unexpected shifts, or breaks in relationships can happen Friday, the second. Finances may take a hit as well. Love is less warm and more practical now. As work can take over, that trip out of town will be in jeopardy, or going out of town can conflict with work at home. Productivity happens Saturday, after early morning. Sunday is more cooperative for relationships with Moon in Libra, but kids are at the forefront. Conflicts involving children and authority come in Sunday. Expect the unexpected in the evening. We find ourselves at cross-purposes. Also, back up your computers towards next week’s Uranus retrograde.
only a singular requirement from partner, or boss early Monday. Evening may see more friction over said requirement, as it may run counter to your need for security and partnership, while being much more practical in nature. With the Moon in Scorpio Tuesday and Wednesday, feelings run deeper. Psychology and how we see our worth in another’s eyes comes up. It is a day for potential wounds around conflict, but more likely in the evening of the 6th. This is, also, a day for potential blind-sided break-ups. Wednesday brings more play, joviality, and a mixed bag of activity and emotions. Look for emotions to be triggered around parents and children. Through the rest of the week, there are opportunities for play and social gatherings, and first dates are deep and meaningful. With Friday’s Moon in Sagittarius, we are desiring to move, take off, or expand our spiritual lives. It is a day of connecting to sisters, women-friends and daughters, outdoors fits the bill. The weekend is more difficult for feeling understood, and plans may fall through. Jupiter turns direct on Sunday the 11th, and Uranus also retrogrades. Strong need for independence is the result.
A UGUST 12-18 A UGUST 5-11 The week begins pleasantly with Moon in Libra, and

today, we are eyeing the bigger picture in our worlds. “Authority” makes us feel safe, but ultimately comes down to us, and our own authority, a.k.a. autonomy. Clarity comes on Tuesday, though it is a poor day for technology, and we would recommend being careful and thoughtful with phones, and other electrical devices. Not a good time for clear communications, EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. Ground your energy. This is why you backed up your computers and memories. The tech and electronic upset goes into Wednesday. Don’t be surprised when plans change on a dime, multiple times. Thursday’s full Moon in Aquarius punctuates this, but also shows us the way to our desires. We have to combine the connectedness, and creativity, of Sun in Leo with the Moon’s detachment from another’s dogma. New solutions for foreign problems are possible on the 14th & 15th. The weekend is another TECH ALERT day, with friction between electronic communications, and computers, under Mercury’s control, and a bad aspect to Uranus, ruler of mass communications, inclement weather and, currently, overseeing love and money. Look for fights, or information not previously expressed causing irritations. Also, please be cautious around glass, and vehicles, as this energy is heightened for accidents. Health, work, school, teachers and jobs encompass the Virgo Moon on Saturday and Sunday, heightened with Mars’ transit into Virgo. We are more chatty now, and want to learn more about each other, while maintaining our boundaries.
August 2019
Horoscope By Shelley Overton
A UGUST 19-25 The planetary energies support asking someone out on a date, Monday, but a casual lunch date would also fit the bill. Monday evening is good for a walk, hike or bike ride. We are more sentimental, and romantically conservative (think flowers, and candy, traditional romance) on Wednesday. We are more workaholic currently, with ambitions triggered by the Moon in Aries, and Mars’ work ethic. Partners may not be as available, but they are thinking about you, now. Deep conversations can happen Wednesday evening, with resultant enlightenment. Be cautious of accidents Wednesday night from quick, thoughtless actions. Look before you leap! New jobs are desired, and received, with the strong Virgo planets this week. The story shifts around children and the dream, separate or together, Thursday. Kids moving out and going off to college is punctuated with Moon entering Gemini on Friday, and Sun entering Virgo. Both signs of education, and teachers. Both signs are at right angles, a negative aspect, to
each other. This is another difficult communications week, resulting in miscommunications, and misunderstandings. Good to use lists. More “knowit-all” condescension and sarcasm comes out now. Our attention may, also fall to social media, and the details. Remember, perfectionism is a dis-ease. Contracts will be hard to pin down. Money is tight, or partners can feel more penny-pinching this week.
A UGUST 26-31 The week of August 26th begins with science projects, or science influences in our daily lives. Exciting advances show up, in the money sector. Love is more detached right now. We analyze the situation to understand it more than feeling it. Ideas from Monday are acted upon by Wednesday, with Mars at the helm. Both Mercury and the Moon enter Virgo Thursday, August 29th, bringing the grand total of planets in Virgo up to 5, or half of the main planets and lights in astrology. The energy definitely leans towards the earthy, and so we express the earth
energy in material ways, analysis, and meticulousness. We also express it through science and understanding, i.e. learning. We are more curious while this stellium is happening, through midSeptember. Going back to school, taking a certification course are both good ways to take advantage of this energy. Getting or changing jobs is optimal now, especially if you are in the educational, medical, or military fields, and service industry. This week’s new Moon is in Virgo, so this is a time for new beginnings, and the Universe will support you. Strong work energy this week may supersede dating activities, so don’t be disappointed if you don’t hear from that great guy or gal, they are really busy at work!

Security issues are not fulfilled by our female loved ones. This energy peaks on Tuesday. As we come up on Wednesday, career and life purpose changes happen as Saturn changes from retrograde to direct. The summer has seen a long backtracking energy from the retrograde. We have been through review and adjustments around our life’s purpose, and with Saturn’s direct motion, we are now able to move towards the changes we wanted to make in the spring of this year.

if we weren’t alone. Libra needs to connect, and does better being part of a couple. Travel opportunities expand midweek. We also find relationships may be at odds with a partner’s career choices. Relationships find it hard to survive frictions on Thursday. Conversations get real deep, and the lightness of Libra is met with Pluto’s stern need to remove what is not working any longer. Friday sees the fall out of old relationships not surviving, not all, but the ones which don’t work. Emotions over said breakup come in, and yet the new Moon in Libra on Saturday can give us new hope for a new partner. Venus has great conversations with Jupiter, the planet of fortune, and the two are in cahoots with freedom, and flirtation. Money is a problem on Sunday. Hold tight to it, as Monday will bring friction around finances, too.

OCTOBER 1-6 This is a big week for emotional sensitivities. Moon enters Scorpio on Monday, October 1. Scorpio is the sign of the subconscious. It is a water sign, meaning deeply emotional. Scorpio is psychic, and gathers information covertly. Moon is about feeling, and depth itself, making this a double whammy, in and of the Moon in Scorpio. We are moody, broody, and taking names. Scorpio is vindictive, at times, too, but that’s because it is territorial. “If I can’t have you, no one can.” An opposition to the planet Uranus, planet of personal power, and intellect, creates a difficult energy for commitment, and joint finances. We are at odds with a partner over money and love, Monday. Tuesday sees a square (hard aspect) of Venus (goddess of love) to Pluto (ruler of Scorpio). Intense feelings on both parts; tears and hurt feelings abound. To top it off, Pluto moves direct on Wednesday, from retrograde. We have been reevaluating our commitments, and self-worth, especially in our careers. When Pluto moves direct in Capricorn, look for earthquakes and volcanoes to be activated. This energy will be seen for the whole week. Again, the shift straddles time zones over midnight, so it occurs on the 2nd in Pacific, and 3rd in Eastern. Mercury, also, enters Scorpio on Thursday, adding to the sadness, and broodiness. We communicate with our The SANCTUARY FOR

emotions. Knowing this will help us connect better to our loved ones. Sensitivity to what another is going through will go miles towards deepening the relationship. Mars enters Libra on Thursday and Friday (midnight time zones). This is absolutely a week of intense shifts. Mars in Libra attempts to “work it out.” Libra is the diplomat, and will influence our actions on behalf of the partnership. Libra wants peace and cooperation. Meanwhile, the good news is that while Mars may be in difficult position to Saturn and Pluto, all the Scorpio planets are cooperating with Saturn and Pluto. This translates to we are moving forward with relationships, and partnerships. We are creating something deep and lasting. It is a fairly quiet end of week. Sunday is another tech face-off energy between Mercury and Uranus. Watch your phones and electronics. Money seemingly has less emotional attachment on October 6th.
clues, and non-verbal ones as well, into what motivates our partner, or loved one. We can’t seem to get on the same page, as Wednesday has us imbalanced, between dependence and addiction. Thursday, October 10th brings friction with desire versus responsibilities. We will feel like not working, but have to for money, or stability. Fear can play a factor in our choices. Pay attention to your fear triggers, that is where you will be doing more internal work throughout 2020. Saturday, October 12th brings a potential for breakups, if your relationship is on the rocks. Money could very well be the reason. With a full Moon in Aries on Sunday, the 13th, we feel aggressive, and willing to act out. This energy is similar to the energy earlier in the year, when there were more shootings. Masculine Aries combined with the emotional quality of the Moon is a combination for eruptions, and emergencies.
OCTOBER 7-13
OCTOBER 14-20
Words for the week are codependence, responsibility, creative, freedom. Monday’s Sun/Saturn square is stressful for ego, and life purpose. We are conflicted with our partners, and our egos are hurt. The Moon emphasizes a certain amount of emotional detachment and lack of empathy for one another. Venus moving into Scorpio on Tuesday immerses us in the deep emotional waters of Scorpio. Words for the week are manifest, contracts, and structures. Monday is mostly cooperative with interpersonal relations. Behind the scenes activities culminate in positive career or commitment opportunities on Saturday. Sunday is cooperative until the evening, when one partner wants to be active and the other doesn’t. Go your own ways, for today.
OCTOBER 21-27 Words for the week, fraud, emotional, and new commitments. Monday and Tuesday are mostly pleasant, with everyone working together. We are highly in-tune on Monday, with desires and practical situations. We know just what to do. Tuesday is good in the morning, with Moon and Mars on board for
creative ideas, and taking the action needed to make them grow. The afternoon is more contentious, with some fraud energy coming in. Be on the lookout for someone embellishing the truth, or outright lying to get their way. Sun enters Scorpio on Wednesday, heightening this devious energy with a square to the Moon in Leo. Hyperbolic communications are a red flag. Don’t believe everything you hear. The Scorpionic time of year is upon us, as this is the weekend for haunted houses. Scorpio Moon, Venus, Mercury and Sun love the hidden, especially mysteries around death. Perfect for ghostly, ghoulish activities. With a new Moon in Scorpio on Sunday, we are ready for a deeper commitment, and it is time to grow that relationship.

others see you. You may feel somewhat detached from others’/your finances, and that is okay. You are in alignment with the monetary energies coming in in 2020. We are at a time of financial systematic shift. Also, the need for freedom in love is upon you. Don’t feel guilty if you feel less for a partner than they do you. You are growing, and learning about your own needs. The morning of the 29th may be moody, but after lunch, Moon enters Sagittarius, and brightens the day. On Thursday, Venus and Mercury join to help you plan for your Halloween activities. Spooky goodness. Then, on Halloween, Moon and Jupiter join to bring lovely early morning fun, followed by Mercury retrograding in Scorpio. We are feeling the end coming of a commitment, but then the retrograde has us questioning that decision. Ultimately, we will move on, after Mercury hits this point in a few weeks.
