Works…
During her stay at DWN in October, Havva wove on the TC2 loom. The concept for one of her works was ''family roots". Havva explains that this piece is based on a family picture, which was taken when she was 5-yearsold. She also added a text to the picture by using Photoshop. ''The text was taken from a mail written by my brother to me when I started my primary school" and it reads thus - "do not loose your self esteem, try to stay on your feet, I am with you, your brothers, sisters, your father and your mother are with you". Havva wove it using 2 shuttles. For double piece, Havva says that she tried to combine the landscape from Istanbul and Hønefoss (Norway). ''The double cloth gave me the advantage of combining 2 views from 2 countries in one work,'' she adds.
