ABOUT US OU Forty-Niner Student Media encompasses three student-run publications: Daily Forty-Niner, DIG MAG and DÍG en Español, which reach more than 38,000 students and almost 3,000 faculty and staff through 65 distribution locations across the CSULB campus and the Long Beach community.

DIG MAG is the insider’s guide to Long Beach for CSULB students, inspiring readers to immerse themselves in the Long Beach lifestyle through diverse reporting, poetry, fiction, literary journalism, beautiful design and compelling photography and illustrations.

The Daily Forty-Niner is celebrating 71 years as the campus news source for CSULB and is the “official paper of record” for the university. Daily Forty-Niner student reporters continue to produce awardwinning coverage of campus and city news and events.

DÍG en Español is the first and only all Spanish language publication in Long Beach and at CSULB. The magazine includes articles, feature stories and other content that encompasses all aspects of the Latinx community and experience on campus, in Long Beach and beyond.

The Daily Forty-Niner and DIG MAG offer additional un year. During Fall 2020 our publications are offering two advertisers. Why wouldn’t

DIG MAG Influencer Box This fall, DIG MAG will be sending out 50 influencer boxes to promote the launch of its Fall (September) and Winter (November) issues. Each box will be sent to numerous micro-influencers across campus to do an “unboxing” on their social media channels. Additional boxes will be provided for various student clubs to do giveaways on their social media channels. Boxes will contain the latest issue of DIG MAG and items that help bring the theme of that issue to life. There is no fee to be included in the influencer boxes!

Student Discount Resource Guide

In fall 2020, the Daily Forty-Niner will launch its new Student Discount Resource Guide. Being a CSULB student qualifies students for many discounts across the city. However, most students don’t know about them. This Student Discount Guide is intended to be the go-to place for students to check before they shop, driving CSULB students to visit local businesses, shops and restaurants. CONTRACT SPEC Policies Forty-Niner Student Media, encompassing the Daily Forty-Niner, DIG MAG and DÍG en Español reserves the right to revise or reject any advertisement at its sole discretion at any time prior to publication.

Content Forty-Niner Student Media will not knowingly publish advertisements that discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, ancestry or physical or mental disability. Advertisements having the appearance of editorial material will be identified as “Paid Advertisement.” The Daily Forty-Niner reserves the right to insert the name of an advertisement’s sponsor to the advertisement. Advertisements for political candidates or parties are not eligible for the campus rate and must bear the name and address of the sponsoring individual or organization.

Payments All advertisements must be paid for in advance, unless credit has been established ahead of time. Credit terms are Net-30 unless otherwise specified. Forty-Niner Student Media accepts credit card, check and cash payments only. Checks should be made out to California State University, Long Beach with the insertion order number noted in the memo line on the bottom left. Forty-Niner Student Media accepts MasterCard, VISA and American Express for credit card payments. There is a fee for any returned checks. A monthly service charge will be added to accounts 30 days delinquent. Past due accounts will be turned over to the university collections office and subject to interest and penalties. Deadlines and Cancellations Any cancellations or adjustments to advertisements booked must be made at least five working days in advance of publication. No refund will be offered if the advertisement was canceled after the publication deadline. All advertising cancelled after the deadline for publication is subject to a service charge up to two-thirds the cost of the advertisement. Errors It is the advertiser’s responsibility to proofread the ad on the first day of publication. If an error should appear in the advertisement, the advertiser must notify Forty-Niner Student Media by noon of that day in order to receive a one-day ad extension with the correction made. Minor typographical errors do not qualify for a refund. The advertiser must notify the account executive of any error or omission within seven working days of the advertiser’s ad publication to be eligible for a make good. If a make-good is granted, the liability will not exceed the original cost of the incorrect advertisement. Forty-Niner Student Media is not responsible for incorrect copy or art submitted by the client. The original copy and instructions must be legible. Forty-Niner Student Media is not responsible for errors in advertisements submitted after deadline. Proofs available for approval upon request. Agreement Publication of an advertisement does not constitute an agreement for continued publication. Submission of an advertisement to the Daily Forty-Niner, DIG MAG and/or DÍG en Español does not constitute a commitment to publish the advertisement. Other The advertiser and/or advertising agency agrees to defend and indemnify the publisher against any and all liability, loss or expense arising from claims of libel, unfair competition, unfair trade practice, infringement of trademarks, trade names of patents, violations of rights of privacy and infringements of copyrights and proprietary rights resulting from the publication of the advertiser’s advertisement.

Byline: Byline will read Sponsored by [Name of your company]. Please give us exactly how you would like the company name to appear. Body Copy: Body copy should not exceed 500 words. Please hyperlink up to five keywords within the body copy. Image: Please provide one image (photo or graphic) to include with your submission. Images should be horizontal, PNG or JPEG file, and not exceed 500 MB. Caption: Provide a caption for the image, including credit for where the image was sourced. Caption should not exceed two sentences.
