The images in this e-zine were all captured in the Forest of Dean in October 2024.
Ten photographers signed up for this RPS Talk-Walk-Talk ‘Woodlands’ project. On the day of the walk, the photographers met with group leader, Jo Shepherd, RPS Western Regional Organiser, to discus the plan for the day and the various the routes we could take through the forest and along the Sculpture Trail. Maps were also available showing the paths and locations of the sculptures.
Each photographer has shared their two favourite images from the day and they are presented here.
After meeting over Zoom, the group discussed all the images and chose two, one ICM from David Saunders and one infra-red from Jo Shepherd, to represent the Forest of Dean "Woodlands" event on the RPS TWT online project gallery, which can be found here.

The photographers were Steve Betts, Anne Bryson, Alan Castle, Ian Edser, Sureita Hockley, Geoff Hughes, Neil Purcell, David Saunders, Jo Shepherd and Kevin Williams.
The diversity of the images in this zine illustrates quite clearly how we all see the same location with differenteyes, only two images share a similar subject, but even then from a different angle and with a different composition. We hope you enjoy seeing what other photographers saw on the day.

The RPS Talk-Walk-Talk project is run by the Digital Imaging Group in conjunction with the Landscape Group.
The idea is that participants attend a talk by an expert in a particular type of photography, in this particular case, Paul Mitchell FRPS gave a very engaging talk on ‘Woodlands’.
Small groups then attend a walk with a local guide to practice that type of photography.
The groups then meet up to discuss the images and to select two to represent their walk, which will then appear on the RPS TWT gallery.
