LIGHTS, CAMERA, CAPTURE Scaling Environment through Photography S | M | L | XL

“We keep this love in this photograph We made these memories for ourselves Where our eyes are never closing Hearts were never broken And time’s forever frozen still” - Ed Sheeran The thrill of an idea germinating from a drawing, and then gradually turning it into a photograph, has been my passion not only from studying architecture but, since my early days in school. I was fascinated by the way photographers integrated their creativity with technical knowledge and planned, captured and maintained new environments. Thus, I started capturing and making photographs of my dreams. Photography brought out the dichotomy of my personality, allowing me to engage both creatively and scientifically with the aesthetic and functional aspect of clicking imaginable pictures. Each country has something unique to offer in the field of architecture and photography, and there are diverse styles and characteristics ranging from the general appearance to the smallest details. With a strong understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of architecture and photography, I pursue this form of art. The philosophy of photography combines the creative and skilful manipulation of form, as well as the ability to draw inspiration from a broad body of knowledge. In this book, I have explored different scales of capture showing interesting events, stories, colours and light. Photographs helps us to recall the events from past and by taking pictures we capture the best moments of our life. Metaphorically, I am a painter who has depicted my life on a canvas by describing reality the way I want it to be. Photography has emotions attached to it which shows the value of the image by its emotive and pragmatic meaning. The power of an image is so great, that it can make people think deeply over something, or compare or connect themselves with the object depicted in it. Thus, every image has a story to convey. To create such memories, I have put efforts to capture images with perfect light, background and added a little creativity.

An intimate image is always the one with immense amount of details and clarity in it. The scale is so deep and small that one has to get closer to the image to understand the story behind the capture. The grading involved in this category of enthusiasm is so personal that only an experienced soul can determine the level of wavelength.

M E D I U M An interior photography is an integral collaboration of light and life playing with day and night to capture a situation in a subtle manner. The details in a medium-scale interior captured image can be taken in a distant manner with lot of exposure and intensity to the frame, a photographer can produce an image showing the depth involved in it.

The path leading to the destination can be acquired with the help of a trail and from that the development of the urban world leads to formation of streets, roads and in a larger scale a huge transactive network. Streets talks about all formation of scales with respect to landscapes, humans, buildings, etc. Nature plays a very important role when it comes to the time of the day where the horizon falls or rises with respect to sun’s direction.

Large spaces have been defined in a manner where the footprint of an object is solidified and stamped forever. The chaos in the structure give a detailed depth with respect to the context. The surrounding openness with the trail leading towards the neighbor is an important aspect of gratifying light, nature, air, living being, etc. Large scale takes the volume and speaks for itself to survive in the physical realm. Texture of materiality is based on the specification one wants to subdue. The path leading nowhere will definitely help one reach a large space.

Pattern created have always been the dramatism between nature and man-made product. This pattern when viewed from the top gives a feel about the space and place with respect to nature. The organic shapes are the one which conglomerate and creates a visionary icon leaving a mark on the large-scale plan.
