General Counsel & Vice President of Human Resources Recruited by the principals of a nationwide facility maintenance company with annual sales exceeding $160M to serve as General Counsel, Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Secretary with complete responsibility for defining organizational culture, developing strategic HR plans, and positioning HR as proactive partner to operations and business units nationwide. Total workforce now exceeds 7,000. As General Counsel:  Managed the company's litigation under the commercial general liability policy ("cgl"), auto policy ("ap"), workers' compensation policy ("wcp"), and employment practices and liability insurance policy ("epli"). 

Orchestrated a complex business reorganization, under the cgl, by implementing programs, procedures and forms to enhance the company's defense of the cgl litigated claims. Successfully tracked costs associated with the litigated claims and created systems to reward sites that met or exceeded their respective goals.

Key driver in the development and initiation of an “early return to work program” that reintroduced injured workers on restrictive duties in a more timely fashion thus decreasing the average claim cost year-over-year.

Authored forms and procedures for accident investigation of all workplace incidents and developed a series of on-going reward programs encouraging site compliance with safety and compliance regulations. Results were a significant reduction in company's EMR.

Managed course design, content, materials and platform to educate management at all levels concerning all lines of insurance.
