ASWAN ECOLODGE AND SPA PROJECT DEFENETION This project is located in Aswan in Gharb Sohil village . The project was held on two sites (Desert site on a hill and a low Nile site ) it was required to connect them together by a walkable path . These two sites was required to have an Eco lodge and a spa area with a sand and silt bath on the Nile. We tried to make this project an Ecofriendly one as possible by using some techniques like wetlands and eco friendly material.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT This diagram shows the movement of the purified gray water from the higher spots (green roof wetlands) to the lower ones in the desert site (to save energy) to settle in the Food Production area of the Eco lodge that being cultivated by the tourists . The gray water generated on the Nile site is treated as well and being purified in a water wetland that goes back to the Nile

ARCHITECHTURAL IDEA As everything in nature that surrounding the chosen site (Wind, sand, mud and green )consist of layers that affect and effected on each other , the building is layered to complete the whole system and blend in it. As well it affect positively and ecologically on the nature . Also nature affect the project as the land scape try to involve the interaction between land, water and the users. As well as the wind that makes the building breath through the intermediate open spaces in and between the building.(the 2 blocks shape was inspired by dar el-salam narrow streets and tall buildings making shadow and nice breeze and by the wind shapes on water and sand ).
MATERIAL CONCEPT Prefabricated concrete panels coated with Self Cleaning Effect Paint. It is a premium silicone resin facade paint which greatly reduces adherence of dirt particles and also water repellent ensures long term protection from dust, dirt, algae, bacterial and fungal growth. As it is white building to reduce the heat gain and make the building cleaner for long time .the glass is shaded with wooden vertical louvers which allow light ventilation and security. And controlling the amount of light or wind that entering the apartments.
CONCEPT
URBAN DESIGN IDEA An alive and dynamic project, Its urban design depends on reinforcing connections and blending with the surrounding neighborhood and creating appropriate adjacencies between retail and residential uses. All this while separating residents from the grittier aspects of city life. This particular site has a very good location as it lies between the Nile and the river so the building has both views. Its a quiet area but not isolated and have direct access to the main street . Moreover there is an empty lot behind the site which don not block the view to the Nile as all other tall buildings along the Nile. The site is an easy access site from the main street.

NEW CAPITAL PROJECT DEFENETION The proposed new capital of Egypt is a large-scale project announced by Egyptian housing minister Mostafa Madbouly at the Egypt Economic Development Conference on 13 March 2015. The assigned project was to design an urban part from the new capital city in groups followed by an individual project in the designed urban part of the new capital city.
URBAN CONCEPT SITE PLAN The overall idea was to have a main long spine cutting through the whole site connecting both sides of the site together. The spine start with the opera at the north and end with the parliament south the green park to show how strong the relation between culture, Art, people and government . Beside this main spine there are two secondary spines to connect also between the north and south parts having important projects at their ends too. Moreover Having the college spread along the site according to nearest function for Example the low school near the courts etc.. And all The college parts are connected by a tram line and they all meet in a middle large green area where the library is.

LUXOR GREEN BELT PROJECT DEFENETION The idea of the whole studio was to have different green projects through all Luxor city to make a larger green belt . Our project was inspired by the regen village which is a model for the development of off-grid, integrated and resilient eco-villages that can power and feed self-reliant families around the world. We chose our village site near to a studied urban sprawl to not only self sustain our village but also to spread the village benefits to all the near by villages. ReGen stands for regenerative, where the outputs of one system are the inputs of another. Our target was to have energy positive homes, renewable energy, energy storage, doorstep high-yield organic food production, farming aquaponics, farming, water management and waste-to-resource systems. All of that leads to the closed system that we target.
Village site
URBAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL IDEA Working in a group of 6 we developed the village urban arrangement. The village consist of : agriculture school providing teaching aquaponics techniques, an area for drying tomatoes and herbs, a farm , a bio digesters and aquaponics area, hospital, central park, residential blocks, urban market and an orchard. All functions are connected by a cutting pedestrian path. Each area has its own style and concept but they all together act as one machine. Finally Each 2 of us focused on a certain area and started to develop its architecture. From our research, we concluded that the farming problems in Luxor include shortage in fertilizers supply & water not reaching all agricultural lands. Therefore, our strategy includes implementing organic sustainable ways of providing fertilizers through implementing bio digesters in farms. That will provide both fertilizers & biogas to operate the farm. Also, transforming the agricultural waste into fodder or fertilizers instead of burning it which is more economic & environmental. Due to the problem of water, fertilizers and the high percentage of unused deserted lands in Luxor we decided to apply different types of Aquaponics systems and integrate the food production and tourism within these systems. Aquaponics is a sustainable fish & vegetable production method which circulates water & nutrients in a closed loop system. Minimizing waste and agricultural inputs. This cycle begins when fish effluent flows from the fish tanks to the hydroponic system where plants uptake the fish effluent as nutrients and flourish. Clean water flows back into fish tanks and the cycle repeats itself
URBAN MARKET AND ORCHARD
CONCEPT As the idea behind our village is providing locals and visitors with a complete cycle of different activities that are both environmental, natural and can be economically profitable. Workshops for local crafts are provided on the first floor of the residential complex. Those can be rented for locals to produce & sell their goods on the open market space. This encourages locals to work more and improve their life quality. The orchard offers a unique opportunity for visitors to pick fruits by themselves, eat around the beautiful nature or ride their bikes. They could also use the different food collected from the orchards or produced from aquaponics to either sell or buy in the markets. Moreover, they can use this food production to cook local recipes in the community kitchen and sell them to visitors. Residential units are integrated within the orchard and trees to provide a unique living experience to residents. The other residential units are above the workshop and market to facilitate people’s daily functions.
