ART QUEST Dear Parents and Campers, Thank you for enrolling your child in ART QUEST 2012! We are looking forward to a wonderful summer filled with lots of art and creative projects. We have a terrific staff of experienced and dedicated teachers and energetic assistants who are busy planning the curriculum and who are looking forward to working with your children. We have an excellent ratio of staff to students to insure that each child will be well supervised and will receive all the assistance and guidance that is needed. In addition to our classroom work with hands on art, students will be working periodically on lessons that will enhance knowledge and appreciation of art through stories, videos, discussion, games, and other activities.
Morning sessions begin with drop off at 9:00AM in front of McLean Hall of the Lower School (opposite the GA Flagpole in the Lower School Quad), where Art Quest staff members will greet your child. Students will then go into the basement of McLean Hall where they will be directed to their art classrooms. Clay students, digital photo and students in advanced classes will wait in the Assembly room for everyone to arrive and then will walk with a teacher to their classrooms in the Middle School.
Reminder: All late arrivals and early dismissals must take place through the Welcome Center. Each morning we will have a supervised recess from10:30AM to 11:00AM. During this time, children can use the playground area, play games, or sketch in the garden. We will provide a light snack and drink. Children may also bring snacks from home if they prefer. At 11:00AM, the children will return to classrooms where they will continue working on their artwork until “cleanup� at 11:45 AM. Dismissal is at 12:00PM at which time the children who go home will be escorted back to the Lower School Quad for pickup. Students who will be joining Day Camp for the afternoon will be escorted to the dining room for lunch and to the Grove to begin their afternoon activities. Those students who will be having lunch and staying for Art Quest Afternoon or another afternoon program will have a 45-minute supervised lunch period before we begin afternoon classes.

On the final day of Art Quest, Friday August 3, we will have a special reception and Art Exhibit of the work created by students who have attended our program during the summer of 2012. Parents and friends will be invited to come to this exhibit/reception. An invitation will be sent home. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me directly.
